I have been to Braemar Lodge several times during the year I have found all staff very friendly and lovely to talk too. I have spoken to many of the residents and they really are happy. they put on activities for the residents the food is great. I have been to other care homes in the UK and I think Braemar Lodge at Salisbury is the best. Well done to all the staff who put so much hard work to make lovely place for the residents.
As an Ambassador for Naomi House and Jacks Place Hospice for children and Young Adults, we have visited Braemar Lodge on several occasions this year as we were their nominated charity. I have always found the staff very friendly and the residents are always smiling and will always talk to you. Braemar Lodge is a fantastic place and the staff are very efficient. It has been a pleasure going there this year and can only say a huge thank you for the support they have given Naomi House and Jacks Place this year
My aunt has been a resident of Braemar Lodge for over seven months and both she (as a resident) and myself (as a visitor) have been made to feel welcome at Braemar Lodge.
The building is of modern design with wide corridors and a lift to all floors, this enables residents with differing physical abilities to access all levels of the building and get to the activity rooms and the residents' "cafe" on the top floor.
Braemar Lodge has well kept accessible gardens and this outdoor facility gives the residents the opportunity to enjoy the wildlife.
We come in monthly as a group to do a service. Each time the home is clean and looks well kept. Residents are tidy and usually ready for us. The activities coordinator is always on the ball and attentive. Very proffesional
Having extended Braemar Lodge at the end of July after a spell in hospital with pneumonia I was delighted to be offered a corner room on the ground floor overlooking trees and the girls playing ground. The whole home is very well furnished, tasteful, clean and always kept to a very high standard. The staff could not have been more welcoming- all calling me by my Christian name making me feel at home. This has been maintained and this lovely feeling of togetherness is felt across the home and much is done to bring residents and staff together yet one's room is your own abode where you can be yourself. The cafe is ideal for taking visitors to coffee, a most tasteful room and open most of the day. The garden has won many prizes and rightly so - it is a real joy to go there, to walk sit and just thoroughly enjoy the surroundings. A daily programme of activities and outings, one is free to join and well managed. I cannot fault the medical care here. This is a happy, caring, well run home and I am very happy to be part of it for the rest of my days.
Excellent in every way. No criticisms.
Generally the quality of care is very good but there are irritations eg. the long (and unreasonable) delays before assistance "turns up" for a toilet call. Whilst there appears to be attention given to residents hot food preferences/presentation it continues to frustrate at times with lumpy potato and unmanageable meat helpings. Inevitably the attitude of staff to resident care varies, when it is good, it is very good/excellent, but at other times it leaves much to be desired.
Thank you for your comments about the care at Braemar Lodge. We are pleased you feel the general quality of care is “very good” and you would be likely to recommend the home to others. As you will be aware, we have discussed each of your specific points in detail with the Home Manager and they have...
I suffer from Parkinsons disease diagnosed in March 2007. I am prone to balance problems which make me unsteady on my feet. One such episode in February 2014 led to a fall in which I broke my right knee. Initial recovery was swift but problems came to light . I have increasing difficulty in bending my right knee which make it difficult to sit in a standard seat.
