Having visited Blenheim House regularly for six years, I confirm that currently it maintains a high standard in care and environment. All staff do their best to ensure residents' needs are met, which in some cases must be a test of patience. The staff turnover is not as frequent as in the past, this must benefit residents & Berkley. Section headed "facilities" is slightly marked down as I have no real experience of some to compare it with but ideally it should be between 'Good & excellent.'

Very well kept property. Reception always very welcoming, with all of the necessary security. Very easy log in/log out.

All staff very friendly and helpful; always ask if we need any help with anything while we are visiting. All staff kind an caring when they attending to my sister-in-law. Their priority is to let the service user do what they want to do and assist as and when necessary. Excellent 80th birthday party provision - buffet in resident lounge followed by dancing, singing and music in the activities room with excellent cake. Amazing staff and management. Full marks all round!

Review from C J (Daughter of Resident) published on 8 October 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My mother moved to Blenheim house initially on respite and then became a permanent resident, requiring full nursing care. Throughout her stay the nursing care she received was second to none both from a medical and personal perspective. She was treated with kindness, dignity and respect throughout her stay. The daily interactions with staff, lifted her with them having bespoke 1-1 times scheduled with her and when able, she loved the various activities, music events, visits from therapy horses to mention but a few that the events team plan.

The behind the scenes team were very helpful in resolving any queries and providing support to myself whilst moving my mother into care. The front of house welcome to any visitors, day or night was warm and welcoming.

It was good to see mum laugh and enjoy her interaction with her carers, who she was very fond of. Blenheim House gave us back our Mother and daughter time, for which I am and will always be grateful.

As part of our journey to deciding when to move into a care home my wife and I jointly experienced a period of respite care in Blenheim House.
We thought the overall experience was excellent. The community atmosphere and family environment were immediately apparent as though transferred by osmosis from all the house walls.
With residential status we were free to experience the full range of facilities and join in the varied and numerous daily wellbeing activities.

All the staff members were caring, flexible and professional in whatever circumstances they were asked to help or become involve

I have been a resident at Blenheim House for a while now, however after a recent short stay in hospital I want to make the following statement. I was really welcomed 'home' and feel that my care has been good. I am supported to be as independent as I can and have made lots of new friends. A very varied programme of activities is offered to suit people. I have a ground floor room with a patio and spend time outside in the beautiful garden.

I am delighted with the care and attention given to my father. He is listened to and his preferences are accommodated. He is treated with respect and sincere kindness. He is eating very well and enjoying his glass of wine at lunchtime! He is often found in the beautiful garden reading his newspaper or snoozing. Most of all Blenheim House has allowed me to be a daughter again and not a carer and that is priceless.

Flawless and exceeding my expectations. From my first contact with the CRM to discuss the possibility of mum moving here - she immediately put my mind at ease with her professional and kind manner. The carer team are just wonderful - each and everyone of them is so kind, caring, patient and it is very clear they love their job, the residents and their colleagues. This culture appears very strong and seems to be a results of the team spirit and team leadership. Also huge praise to the head chef.

A kindly gentle atmosphere for most of the time. I am made to feel special - cared for. All the carers are kind and gentle - there are several outstanding ones whom I will be sad to say goodbye to when the time comes. I think one member of staff, in particular, looks very tired at times - so we must care for him while we can. The brilliant leader in every way - kind, considerate, gentle; we are so fortunate to have his wisdom with us nearly everyday. He is so wise - so caring - so strong; I have learned many things from him - all helpful and full of warmth. It has been a privilege to know so many special people - including the kind lady who taught us all we know.

My Mother was looked after at Blenheim house following Chemotherapy and a fall. The care she received was exemplary, not only was her medical needs taken care of but the team at Blenheim went above and beyond to make sure she was happy and comfortable, nothing was too much trouble.
They welcomed family and friends when visiting with open arms and warm hospitality.
My Mother has since returned to her home to live independently, without the care from the Blenheim House for three months, this would have been unthinkable.

So thank you for all your kindness, support and efforts you give each of the residents in your care and for making the transition from hospital to care home so easy, especially when so many family members are in a state of distress at a difficult time.
