I have found the Bupa Oaks Trowbridge to be a happy and welcoming environment. The staff in general try their best to provide the care and welfare of the resident. The finance officer has helped in so many ways that has been much appreciated. The nursing staff excellent. From the moment one enters the home to be welcomed by Gordon and the help from Mark with the stairlift. Then of course there is the entertainment, and birthday celebrations. In general all excellent.

Overall Graham receives a very good level of care, from friendly, caring staff, with whom he has a good rapport. Occasional incidents of skin soreness not picked up by carers. There have been multiple times when his hearing aids have been lost or damaged. Without them he is totally deaf and isolated. So it's important that staff are aware of the need to help him use, and care for them. He mainly enjoys his food but misses strong cheese! He often leaves considerable amounts of his main course, due to a small appetite. The Oaks is kept clean and tidy, with a good level of security.

The Home prides itself on being a family and indeed it is. We have felt very welcome every time we visited and have made many friends amongst the staff and the residents alike. We were kept informed every step of the way with Mum's care. She was always kept clean, comfortable, well nourished (The food is excellent.) and was encouraged without pressure to take part in the many varied activities which include live music, quizzes and group sessions aimed at improving dexterity of mind and body. We do not hesitate to recommend The Trowbridge Oaks to anyone who may need similar care. It is a happy caring place which Mum called home.

We have enjoyed our 2 weeks respite in the care home - the staff are hard working and have been very caring. We shall miss them. On the whole every effort has been made to make our stay very pleasant.

The resident's Christmas Party :- everyone seemed to enjoy it the lounge was packed with all residents and family's. A singer sang various sang's a beautiful spread put on by kitchen also the activity table sale held by the activities co-ordinator all goods were made by residents.

I have been a care home manager within Bupa for many years – working at care homes in Shockerwick, Chippenham and Cirencester. I joined the team at Trowbridge Oaks in January 2022.
Before I became a care home manager, I was deputy manager in one of our Bupa care homes for 2 years.I qualified as a registered nurse in 2002. I trained and worked in Salisbury Hospital and then moved into the care home sector. I always wanted to work in a care home due to my experiences as a young child visiting the care home which my aunt and uncle owned. In my teenage years, I helped care for my grandmother, which further confirmed that I wanted to become a nurse.
What I enjoy most about working in care services is being able to help others, whether that be residents, family members or my colleagues, and the satisfaction that this brings. No day is the same, and I am grateful that I get to work in an environment that is person- and family-centric.

I attended Clarendon School where I studied home economics as an option for my exams and have enjoyed cooking ever since. I owned a coffee shop for 2 years which I thoroughly enjoyed running. I loved getting to engage with my customers. I then became a manager in a canteen for around 2 years. After which I started at Trowbridge Oaks as a kitchen assistant and worked my way up.

I started as a care assistant at Trowbridge Oaks and I did this for around a year and a half then I decided I wanted to do a bit of housekeeping as well as care so I did a bit of both for a few months but then I made the decision to fully come off of care to go fully into housekeeping in March 2024, this is what lead me to my current role as a housekeeping supervisor.

I am originally from the Philippines, where I completed my nursing training. I moved to the UK in 2021 and began working as a nurse in a care home setting. Caring for older people is deeply rooted in Filipino culture, where respect and support for elderly family members are highly valued. This cultural background inspired me to pursue a career in the care home sector, where I can make a meaningful difference in people's lives.
What I enjoy most about working at Trowbridge Oaks is spending time with residents and getting to know their life stories and experiences.
