The Queen's Jubilee was celebrated at Trowbridge Oaks Care Home, and a fantastic day was had by all. Most came in fancy dress. The singer was great. Staff went that extra mile to make it a wonderful afternoon for all. Food was of a high standard. All joined in to make it a great Platinum Jubilee; the Queen would have felt at home. Well done to you all for a great time.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like our staff go through the extra mile to make our events as thoroughly enjoyable for the residents as possible. We are looking forward to seeing you again soon.
Very caring staff. Clean and safe environment. Nothing is too much trouble to help keep happy.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us your review. It is always so nice to hear from family members who feel their loved one is well cared for in our home.
My daughter has been in the home for three years now and she loves it. The staff are brilliant. The home is clean, they are also on hand and can't do enough for her.
Thank you for your kind words. We are so happy to hear that your daughter loves living with us at Trowbridge Oaks and feels well cared for. Thank you again for your review.
I can only say how pleased I am with the care given to my mother. I would recommend The Oaks to anyone.
Thank you for your kind words and your recommendation.
I haven't been able to visit my mother for 13-months due to the Covid pandemic, however, we have been kept informed by telephone, photos and lots of video chat with my brother, sister, father and I. It's been very hard for everyone concerned, and now with pod and room visits, we are connected again. I had my first room visit today, the staff couldn't have been more helpful.
Thank you for your review. We are glad to hear you were kept informed throughout what has been such a difficult time. We are happy to be able to welcome you back for visits.
My father has been a resident for almost a year. For most of this time, the home has been closed to visitors due to Covid-19, and I have been based outside of the UK.
Despite this, the staff have contacted me and my family over FaceTime, and we've been able to see that he's being looked after very well indeed. Everyone we have had contact with has been incredibly friendly and caring, and I was very impressed with the way that management reacted early to the pandemic, locking down the home before many others in the country, adopting a cautious approach which has proved to be very sensible indeed.
I can highly recommend Trowbridge Oaks. Many thanks to all the staff for doing such a great job - especially in the current circumstances.
Thank you for your kind words, especially during such uncertain times. We appreciate it is trying circumstances for our resident's families, so please let us know if there is anything else we can help with.
I am so reassured that my mother lives in such a caring environment, particularly at a time when safety and security are so precarious due to Covid. The Care Home have been fastidious in supporting communication between myself and my mother, using Facetime calls when I have been unable to go in to visit her. Care staff are always friendly and supportive, as are admin staff, and they are always happy to answer questions. I work as an advocate for people with dementia and learning disabilities and, having extensive experience with other Care Homes, I can highly recommend Trowbridge Oaks.
Thank you for your kind words. We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your feedback.
The Oaks has a calm and friendly atmosphere and the interiors are bright and clean. There's a lot of natural light in the residents' rooms. What we particularly liked is that the bedroom doors are open so residents can see activity in the corridors.
Since The Oaks closed its doors to visitors they have become tech-savvy and we have deeply appreciated the weekly facetime calls. They have done a fantastic job keeping residents safe and we would highly recommend them.
Thank you for your understanding during such a difficult time. We appreciate it is very hard not being able to see your loved one for such a long time. Please let us know if there is anything else, we can do to help.
The visit went extremely well.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us kind feedback, we really appreciate it.
The staff is very friendly and informative, respectful, and caring.
Thank you for your feedback. We are always happy to help.
It seems the Oaks has got it just right. Good care, kindness, and a happy atmosphere. The staff is always cheerful, especially so during this very difficult time we are all experiencing. Well done!
Thank you for such kind words. We are glad to help you and your family through such a difficult time.
After 5 months, I was extremely pleased to be offered a garden visit to see my wife. Much care and thought for myself and my wife and keeping to the lockdown rules on social distancing and hygiene. The staff at the Oaks Care Home are very friendly and helpful to my wife and all our family. We feel she is looked after extremely well.
We are glad to help you and your family through such a difficult time.
Well, the Trowbridge Oaks certainly pulled out all the stops today. Arrangements had been made for my wife to visit her mother (100 yrs old) in a protected area in the home garden. They managed to get mother-in-law into a wheelchair (first time out of bed for a year) to meet up without any noticeable difficulty. The meeting lasted forty-five minutes. All COVID-19 precautions were in place, and more. Staff were excellent in carrying out their duty.
Thank you for trusting us with your mother-in-law's care. We really appreciate your kind words.
Mum, unfortunately, needed to go into care during a challenging time for everyone, but the care and attention she has received from all the amazing carers at Trowbridge Oaks has been second to none. The nurses are incredible, going above and beyond to support Mum and the relationship between Mum and her carers is lovely. We had never anticipated having to contemplate a care home and certainly, Mum was always very independent and wanted to stay in her own home. Now, she feels safe and secure which is an immense relief for me. Mum’s happy, I’m happy, what more is there to say.
We really appreciate you taking the time to leave us such lovely comments regarding Trowbridge Oaks Care Home. We are so glad to help you and your family through such a difficult time, and we hope Trowbridge Oaks did everything to make the transition as easy as possible. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you or your family.
The lockdown has presented many challenges, and the staff have risen to each one.
My mum was 90 on the 10th of June this year. Due to current restrictions, we were obviously not able to celebrate the day with her.
The staff were again brilliant, they made her feel very special, made a real fuss of her, which she loved.
There were bunting, balloons and a fabulous cake made by the kitchen staff.
The family sent her a video wishing her well, which was played to her on several occasions, and we had the opportunity throughout the day to see her and chat through a video link. I have not seen her so happy for ages.
After the day was over the home sent through photos and video footage of the day.
It made what was destined to be a sad occasion into a happy one for my mum and the entire family.
We really appreciate you taking the time to leave us such lovely comments.
With Covid-19 aside I have always found staff friendly and helpful and when things maybe don't quite go as planned they are receptive to what everyone's needs are.
Thank you to the whole team and hope we can get back to somewhere close to normality soon.
Thank you for your understanding during such a difficult time. We appreciate it is very hard not being able to see your loved one for such a long time. Please let us know if there is anything else, we can do to help.
Although it has been very difficult for us not to see Dad during the lockdown, we have been reassured by regular FaceTime calls over the past few months and we know that he is getting the best care.
We really appreciate you taking the time to leave us such lovely comments, thank you.
When the Covid-19 pandemic began to hit the UK, Trowbridge Oaks quickly shut the home down to visitors, thus ensuring maximum safety of residents. They have had no cases of the virus, thanks to this rapid shut-down and constant vigilance. Family video calls were quickly established which are wonderful.
Thank you for your kind words. We are very happy to hear you are satisfied with the quality of our care.
My father as been here for the end of life care on Monday 20th January. He has settled in very well and the care he is receiving is brilliant. All the staff that work here are great. Nothing is too much trouble. Communication with the nursing staff is very good and they are very sensitive to our concerns and feelings. At least I can go home knowing my dad is being cared for and is in the best place.
Thank you for trusting us with your fathers care. We really appreciate the lovely feedback.
It was good to see mum was moved to the lounge while ongoing work was being carried out this enabling us to chat to. The entertainments coordinator was able to direct us to a relation who is now a resident in this care home.

Meet the Team (9)

I have been a care home manager within Bupa for many years – working at care homes in Shockerwick, Chippenham and Cirencester. I joined the team at Trowbridge Oaks in January 2022.
Before I become a care home manager, I was deputy manager in one of our Bupa care homes for 2 years.I qualified as a registered nurse in 2002. I trained and worked in Salisbury Hospital and then moved into the care home sector. I always wanted to work in a care home due to my experiences as a young child visiting the care home which my aunt and uncle owned. In my teenage years, I helped care for my grandmother which further confirmed that I wanted to become a nurse.
What I enjoy most about working in care services is being able to help others, whether that be residents, family members or my colleagues, and the satisfaction that this brings. No day is the same and I am grateful that I get to work in an environment that is person and family-centric.
I live locally to the care home – in Westbury.Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my daughter and partner.
I have a passion for anything science fiction and I love visiting theme parks with my family.

I have been a registered nurse at Trowbridge Oaks for more than 20 years and was appointed as deputy manager in June 2022.
I have a hospital background, with years of experience as a registered nurse. I made the decision to move to the care sector and fell in love with it.
I enjoy the challenge and responsibility of providing the right level of care for our residents and I find the experience very rewarding.
I live locally to the care home – in Trowbridge. I love spending time with my family when I am not at work.

Before working with Bupa, I was working in the Health and Wellbeing sector through Dance and Holistic Massage. I have always been passionate about person-centred work and about helping people access a better quality of life. My Grandad was in a care home for the end of his life and seeing the team at his care home look after him inspired me to look for work in the care sector. The best part about the job is the people! I’m enjoying connecting with the residents, trying to understand what would bring them joy and fulfilment, as well as hearing about their lives. Our staff team is really welcoming, friendly and hard-working and I’ve loved being embraced into the heart of the home by everyone

I joined the team at Trowbridge Oaks in June 2025. My background is predominantly in education; I’ve taught in senior schools in England and Australia but also been a Head of Year within a primary school setting. I love talking to and helping people so thought many of my skills from teaching would be transferrable to a care home setting.
I really enjoy spending time with the residents - whether this be chatting to them about their past experiences (the history teacher in me loves this!) or seeing them get involved in and enjoying the activities on offer.
My partner James and I have recently moved to Wiltshire from Essex – we have bought close to Melksham. We love to travel (I’ve lived in Australia, Canada and South Africa), enjoy finding new places to eat and play and watch a range of sports.

I joined Trowbridge Oaks in 2015 as a kitchen assistant and was promoted to head chef in August 2023.
I attended Clarendon School where I studied home economics as an option for my exams and have enjoyed cooking ever since. I owned a coffee shop for 2 years which I thoroughly enjoyed running. I loved getting to engage with my customers. I then became a manager in a canteen for around 2 years. After which I started at Trowbridge Oaks as a kitchen assistant and worked my way up.
What I enjoy the most about my job is that every day is different. The most enjoyable bit about working in care services is knowing that everything you do is helping others. It’s also an honour to work with people that are so kind and make you smile everyday and to know what you do is always appreciated.
I have 4 daughters and 6 grandchildren, who I enjoy spending time with. My hobbies outside of work are gardening and baking. My family and friends are constantly asking me to make cakes for birthdays and special occasions. I also enjoying watching game shows and cooking programmes.

I joined the team at Trowbridge Oaks in 2025 as an accounts administrator.
I have worked in the retail/hire trade for the last 10 years as an accounts/finance administrator, and before that, I worked for a charity that helped disadvantaged people get back into work and lead more independent lives.
While working at the charity, I felt I was making a difference to the lives of the clients we were helping, and I felt I could continue to make a difference when I moved to the care sector.
I live in Trowbridge, and I have 3 cats. My daughter and her fiancé moved in with me after my husband passed away. I have 3 adult children and 4 grandchildren who keep me occupied, and I have just started trying some crafts.

I spent five years working for the NHS, first as a receptionist, then as a clinical coder and finally as a healthcare assistant. I’ve always loved helping people, so when I moved to Trowbridge, I thought I would see what working in the care home sector was like. It was the best decision I have made! I love my job; every day is different, and we are lucky to have such an incredible team.

I have worked for Bupa since April 2022 but have been working in this new role as a housekeeping supervisor since June 2024.
I started as a care assistant at Trowbridge Oaks and I did this for around a year and a half then I decided I wanted to do a bit of housekeeping as well as care so I did a bit of both for a few months but then I made the decision to fully come off of care to go fully into housekeeping in March 2024, this is what lead me to my current role as a housekeeping supervisor.
I originally started my first ever job in a care home setting when I was 18, I started as a housekeeper in a care home but after a few months of working in the care home I found myself wanting to be on the care side more so that’s what started my journey as a carer off and I have worked in a few homes as a care assistant and even once in the community as a senior care assistant before I found my job at Trowbridge oaks.
The thing I enjoy most about working in the care home is spending time with all the residents and their families ensuring they have everything they need and helping to create a nice, homely environment.
I live locally to Trowbridge in Westbury with my partner and our dog. Outside of work, I have a passion for nails, so I also do nails for people from my little salon in my house and have been qualified in nail treatments since June 2023.

I have been doing maintenance work for around 10 years both in schools and in the building industry,
When I found out about the maintenance role at Bupa, I thought it would be an exciting new challenge for me. I really enjoy working with my colleagues and the residents.
I live close to the care home with my lovely partner and two little boys. Outside of work I enjoy socialising with friends, playing skittles and enjoying quality family time.
