Lovely staff are very helpful. Always made to feel welcome. Mum is happy there and settled. Activities can be lots of fun for her, just sad she can never remember them. She likes the food, mum has a choice daily and the staff have a laugh with her.

My mother came into Fitzwarren House mid July 2024 and is still a resident now. By August 2024 we had noticed what a difference her being in the home was making to her. She gained weight, was encouraged, was nursed, was very well cared for and so were we as a family. All of the staff cared for us and
would keep up us in the loop when mum needed a doctor or any outside help. We greatly appreciate the loving care and respect that is given to mum.

Mum has been a resident for 15 months, since several falls which resulted in being unsafe to be at home alone. Since moving in she has had the opportunity to do activities and socialise, which has helped her confidence and mood.
She loves her own room and ability to have her own things around her.
She also enjoys sitting on the balcony in the summer, which is situated well for the sun and covered in plants and flowers. Mum also enjoys her meals which she can enjoy in her room or with others in the dining room. The choice of food and meal portions are always appetising. When we had to find a home for mum Fitzwarren was highly recommended and it has not disappointed. The staff are friendly and work hard to provide high quality care in an ambient atmosphere. The senior staff are highly professional and provide effective communication regarding care and any updates. They also are supportive when meeting individual needs and understand the importance of maintaining independence.

My mother has been at Fitzwarren House for the past 8 months and I have nothing but praise to offer. As mum's health began to deteriorate we were faced with the daunting decision to move her from an independent living retirement home to a nursing home. Whilst my father was cared for splendidly 6 years
ago at Fitzwarren Court we nevertheless looked at options for mum's care needs. After checking out other care homes we, as a family, all agreed that Fitzwarren House still stood out miles above all other local homes and therefore concluded it was the right place for mum. Mum is shown the most upmost respect by each and every member of staff. All her needs are fully met and she regularly expresses how cared for she feels. On days when she feels a little down due to her health there are regular visits from staff who go above and beyond to help lift her mood. The site itself if spotless and provides an environment which is safe and helps all residence maintain a relaxing lifestyle.

The best thing that ever happened to me was when my aunt got a place at Fitzwarren House. My aunt didn't arrive in the best of health - she had been at another home - which didn't work out. When she first arrived there - in December 2018 - I honestly didn't think she would make Christmas - 6 and a bit
years later she is happy and healthy. I feel quite emotional as we owe everything to the care she has received at Fitzwarren House. My aunt always took pride in her appearance - but with dementia she is not the person she once was. If your family member is the same or similar you will know what I mean. However she has her hair done regularly - which she loves and is always dressed well - again something she loves. When we visit she is always smiling, happy and having a laugh with the staff. I thank the day I got my aunt into Fitzwarren house - as I now sleep well and know she could not receive better care - in-fact the staff take pride in their high standards.

Fitzwarren House has been excellent for my wife. I am more than happy that she receives very good care, day and night. The staff are all very friendly and jolly and are uplifting when they tend her. Her needs are all catered for and she wants for nothing. She gets taken to all activities that she enjoys,
like music therapy, Church Services and also some games. The home is kept to a high standard, clean, tidy and brightly decorated. The general feel for the home when I visit is always a happy, homely, positive experience. This was the only home in Swindon I felt comfortable leaving my wife in, and I still feel the same way.

The home is always maintained to a high standard. The staff are always welcoming and kind nothing is too much trouble and they create a safe and homely environment. Management are excellent and ensure there is clear communication on personal matters (health appointments etc). The team are approachable
and helpful, particularly if you have any questions or queries you want to discuss compared to other homes I have visited people in recently in Swindon, Fitzwarren clearly stands out to me as superior and continues to be the best place for my mum to receive exceptions care in - she clearly expresses this through her constant comfort and contentment there. Thank you!

My wife has been a resident of Fitzwarren House for 5 years. She suffers from severe Alzheimer's, is chair bound and doubly incontinent. She often presents challenging behaviour. She is kept scrupulously clean is well nourished and receives kind patient and cheerful attention from all the staff caring
and domestic. She has a single ensuite room well equipped to serve her needs. Efforts are made to integrate her into the communal life of the home and to stimulate her with games, exercises, live entertainment and techniques to promote speech and conversation. She also has access (in her wheelchair) to a large sheltered and well maintained garden. I cannot speak too highly of the staff and the strength of resident centred care.

My Mum and Aunt have been at Fitzwarren House for 3 years and are now both on the Nursing floor where the level of care is extremely high standard. We live in America and have to rely on the staff for everything and they are exceptional, caring and very attentive.

When I visit Mum she is dressed and looking lovely, I usually find her in the lounge. The care lead always provides me with an update and we discuss any concerns. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. Mum is happy living at Fitzwarren and feels safe. Mum is included in activities but also able
to rest if she is too tired to join in. Recently Mum's food has been reviewed to cater for her changing needs and this has made a different making is easier for her, Knowing Mum is cared for and in safe hands is a weight of my mind.

My honest opinion is all management and staff are marvellous, as well as the carers who go one step beyond to care for my wife. However, there are very rare occasions when I find my wife still in bed for no apparent reason. I also have to ask for my wife to be changed sometimes as she can't ask for
herself. Generally, I am very pleased with how my wife is cared for.

Once settled my mother-in-law had a very positive experience in the home. She was very well looked after and enjoyed the variety of meals on offer. She also enjoyed going to the activities. All the staff were very kind to her and towards the end of her life, they treated he with dignity and care.

We visited my husband's uncle and were delighted to find him so content and calm in such friendly, caring and professional surroundings.
His room was like home.

We moved my mum into Fitzwarren House Care Home after a short stay in another home in her hometown of Sheffield. The difference in her in a week is nothing short of remarkable, previously she was crying and pleading to be taken out and not return to the home in Sheffield but at Fitzwarren House she
is settling well and smiling a lot - no tears either. The staff are incredible and the whole feel of the place is so person-centred. So glad we managed to be given a room and feel that Mum will have a lovely life there.

My mother lived at Fitzwarren House for fifteen months until her recent death. The staff were extremely caring and compassionate to both us and my mother during this time as her dementia worsened. She was at all times, comfortable in her lovely room and benefitted from the various activities each day.
A wonderful, caring home where residents are treated with total dignity.

My nana was very well looked after at Fitzwarren House. The staff were kind and helpful. Her needs were always catered for. She enjoyed all the activities, especially the singing ones. She loved walking in the beautiful grounds and sitting with the home's cats - Fitz and Warren. A wonderful place for
her to live until her death.

A lovely home, with lovely people. The staff are so kind and caring and support family members so well too. My nana's room was clean, light and spacious. She enjoyed the food - especially the cake in the afternoon. The staff make birthdays very special for all the residents. A special place.

The staff looked after my mum so well. They were always kind and friendly. Her personal care was always well done. She enjoyed having her hair and nails done. Staff always had time to sit and talk to her which was a real comfort. The gardens are beautiful and mum loved sitting in them.
