The care that was given to my mother was above what I imagined. The carers sere extremely nice, treating my mother with respect and kindness. The home is very friendly and has a lovey atmosphere, the gardens in summer were lovely to push the wheelchair around.

The staff at Fitzwarren House are all very friendly and so very caring. My husband has been at Fitzwarren House for over 4-years, and in all that time, he did not have a single bedsore, such as the care he received. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff.

The nursing care and general care my mother received was outstanding. She was a difficult person with complex needs, but the staff never faltered. They were patient, kind and knowledgable. I cannot find any criticism in the staff or services provided at Fitzwarren House.

Sadly my mum passed away on Thursday 5th December at the age of almost 95, after receiving almost eight years of exceptional nursing care and day to day caring from wonderful staff. I cannot speak highly enough of the dignified care Mum received, maintaining her privacy at all times. Unfortunately,
I wasn’t with Mum at the end of her life as I am with my daughter in New Zealand but I am so grateful for the end of life care she received. Huge thanks to the nursing staff and carers and everyone else who plays a part in making Fitzwarren House at the top of the league.

Whilst visiting, a resident's family were leaving and would next see 'Mum' at Christmas. The family left and the resident wanted to wave goodbye. A member of staff took the resident to the reception area where the resident enthusiastically waved goodbye and the family left with big smiles on their faces
as they drove off. It can be really hard to leave your loved one behind but this member of staff provided a really magical moment for everyone which was so lovely to see.

The carers are amazing, so dedicated. Nursing care is mostly excellent. The Chaplain is simply wonderful. The Manager is lacking - forget it if you require assistance with acquiring funding; as long as fees are paid she doesn’t care whether families receive the funding that should be awarded.

All the staff could not have been kinder, more supportive and more professional in their care of my mum and of my family as she passed on. She had spent two very happy years at Fitzwarren, for which we will be very grateful. We didn't expect those last years to be so full of fun and laughter and smiles
as dementia really took its grip.
I couldn't recommend Fitzwarren highly enough.

My wife and I first visited Fitzwarren House on our own and were very impressed with how bright and uncluttered it was and the space in shared areas and in the bedrooms. They were able to reassure us that my mum who had dementia, would be well looked after. Our next visit was with my mum and we were
again impressed by how they included her in all the decisions. Mum moved in a week later in Mar 19. Unfortunately, my mum's health deteriorated rapidly and in May she was diagnosed with Bowel cancer. By then she was very frail and as a family, we decided she should not have invasive surgery but palliative care. When we met with staff to discuss a care plan and going forward it was very reassuring that they could care for mum until the end. As mum's health declines we have spent more time with her at Fitzwarren and have seen for ourselves how caring all the staff are. They have endless patience with residents and always greet you with a smile.

My father couldn't be receiving better care anywhere. The staff are kind, considerate and always go the extra mile. It is like a big family taking care of their elderly relatives. They really understand dementia.

Mum moved to Fitzwarren after 2 broken legs and care in the home was no longer enough. Recommended by a friend, mum moved into the home and was cared for excellently throughout this time. Mum was often a difficult character and therefore caring for her was testing but Fitzwarren House and its staff
were truly amazing at all times. Fitzwarren House gives our family reassurance and trust that mum was safe and loved.

I visited more than ten nursing homes in the surrounding/extended area to care for my mother in law. Fitzwarren House was head and shoulders above all others. Residents were cared for, the home environment was homely, staff were very attentive without being overbearing. It is a truly wonderful home,
a benchmark for this area.

Our friend was given a room at extremely short notice on 24th December 2018. Having had a fall at home, resulting in a night in hospital, he was released on 23rd December. Being clearly incapable by then of looking after himself and with no immediate family, he needed immediate care. Fitzwarren House
demonstrated that there was "Room at the Inn" when someone needed it most. During his 8 days stay there he received excellent care form all the staff who were very friendly, helpful and totally professional. He would have remained there, but a fall on New Year's Day resulted in him being rushed to hospital, where he passed away 6 days later. We are forever grateful to Firtzwarren House and the staff for their compassion.

This care home became like a second home to my family. My Grandad has the pleasure of being here for 3 years. The care given to himself and my family was incredible. They couldn’t have done more for us. They made us feel so comfortable within. The carers became our friends, as well as some of the residents.
Unfortunately, my Grandad passed December 2018, but the carers did so much for us from that point. Trying to make things a little easier for us. Being there, crying with us, hugging us, being at the funeral to support us and show my Grandad their love. He was so loved in that home. And I miss going there. Couldn’t say a bad word about anything or anyone in that place. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking care of my Grandad. Thank you again.

Mum was well looked after for the whole period she lived here. She enjoyed the surroundings, the food and the activities she chose to engage in. She had a good relationship with the staff, who did their best to meet all her needs, particularly as her health deteriorated. I would recommend anyone looking
for residential care to consider this home.

This is a lovely home where the staff truly care for residents and every effort is made to ensure that the resident's individual likes and dislikes are catered for. Spiritual needs are met by the lovely chaplain. The standard of hygiene is very good and it does not smell like an institution. Rooms are
comfortable and every effort is made to help them become real homes for residents. Staff are caring and compassionate and respectful. Visitors are treated very well too.

In every situation I've come across at Fitzwarren there is always someone there to help, whether that is with a resident or visitor. I have only recently needed to visit Fitzwarren but I am very impressed.

My husband spent almost three years here until he sadly passed away recently. Fitzwarren House stayed clean, fresh and welcoming, as did the flowers on entering the home.


The care and consideration given by all the nursing and care staff towards my sons and myself couldn't have been better.
