My mother as been in princess lodge since feb and my mum has recently passed away. The care she was given in her last days of life was absolutely outstanding and i can never thank you enough for the care and support you gave my mother and myself and family.
Everyone was so professional, caring and supportive in the last stages of her life. All staff was amazing but i need to just gave a extra special thanks to nurse Marjorie, and carer aakansha who was so special and her bedside maner was beautiful. They had a little special bond. This is something i will never forgot. Also unfortunately im unsure of her name but she cared for mum the last 2 night shift of her life, she also was amazing.

Racheal the receptionist is so much more than a receptionist she made sure we was well looked after and supported us as a family with all her heart, and stayed with us untill the end. I will be for ever thankful to all of you.

On my mother-in-law being moved to Princess Lodge. She has settled in and we have found the staff very helpful. She is at the moment kept in her bed, but the staff check on her regularly. She is very happy where she is. The atmosphere in the home is very welcoming and cheerful. All your questions are answered. Glad that we decided to send her here, have not regretted it.

My Mum has been a resident at Princess Lodge for the last 9 months. I visit her on a regular basis, the staff across all functions; Administration, Reception, Management, Carers, Nursing, Domestic (Catering) have always been sensitive, supportive and professional in managing Mum's complex care needs. She is treated with respect, and dignity. Myself and my brother have always been contacted proactively if any areas of concern have been identified. Regular cleaning protocols both inside her room but also communal areas such as the corridors, kitchen and dining areas are evident. There is a full programme of activities available but given Mum's declining health and cognitive skills her participation in these activities have decreased but I know she has 1:1 activity engagement in her room which is appreciated. On value for money I have answered 'don't know' because we have no benchmark. All other areas are scored Excellent because I cannot think of any areas for improvement.

My mum has been at Princess Lodge Care Centre almost five years now. She has Alzheimer's. In her previous situation she was sad and unmotivated after the loss of her husband who she misses so very much. After moving to Princess Lodge and settling in, we noticed a marked improvement in her mood, and her general state of interest in daily activities. She is content now. We have been impressed with the level of care she receives, for her mental & physical health and general wellbeing. Her room is kept clean and tidy. The staff encourage her to be involved in the social activities, they are kind and friendly, and everyone is always positive. In addition, the staff have gone above and beyond to enable my sister and myself to communicate with mum from the USA using video conferencing. We each have an arrangement to chat once a week, and the staff set mum up in front of a computer, it's easy and it has been so lovely to see her now that she cannot manage her phone anymore :)

Barely slept the last few nights - day and night residents entering my room. These are residents that constantly wander and can become abusive and aggressive. My room has a gate. Not to keep me in but to keep them out. It doesn't work. I asked why these residents didn't have gates to keep them in their rooms. Was told they couldn't be restricted but I'm expected to keep my gate across which makes me feel like a prisoner in my own room. I now refuse to do so. I am very upset about this home. I didn't want to come here in the first place - now I know why the bad reputation.

Mum was at Princess Lodge for two years. At first, she was encouraged and able to join in with activities, and she made a few friends. During her second year there, she was less able to join in and eventually became bedbound. Throughout all her time there she was treated courteously and caringly by all the staff. They were always friendly and welcoming, and seemed to want the best for her. Mum could be a little awkward at time,s but they still treated her patiently. She had a nice room.

My dad went into princess Lodge. I was so worried about him going in but after a few weeks he was fine and I was OK with it. All the staff were so fantastic and they all loved my dad as he was a character. Unfortunately he passed away a few weeks ago. The staff work so hard to make sure everyone is OK. The atmosphere in there is so calm and we got to know the other residents so much so that we still want to visit. If anyone is thinking of putting a family member in there I would highly recommend them and I would do it all again

My sister lived in Princess lodge for 3 years until she passed away in August 2024
She was treated with respect and kindness.. she was always happy with every aspect of the care home.. All her needs were met with care and kindness.. knowing this enabled us as a family to feel secure in the knowledge she was happy, even in the most difficult times.

We would recommend princess lodge for this reason.. The staff were amazing from the maintenance staff right up to the management team .. A special mention to the nursing staff and care assistants who did go above and behind to meet my sisters complicated needs..

My mum was at Princess Lodge for nearly three years. She had Parkinsons disease and was bed bound. In those 3 years I never had to worry if my mum was being looked after well. There was always a constant stream of staff checking in on her. I was kept fully informed about everything.
The care home has a wonderful energy about it and hums with life and vibrancy. Both care staff and office staff all interact with the residents and everyone knows everyone. The are lots of activities both inside and out in their safe and fully accessible garden.
The rooms are big and bright with natural light and modern fittings but there is also multiple lounges available for sitting in with your loved one. There is even a Bar (no alcohol though) and a hairdressers.

I highly recommend Princess Lodge Care Centre and wholeheartedly thank them for looking after my mum with care and respect when she was at the most venerable stage of her life.

My Uncle spent 7years as a resident in Princess Lodge Care Home after suffering a severe stroke.
He was paralysed down his right side and was unable to speak but still retained his mental capacity and was able to communicate his likes and dislikes.

The staff always treated him with dignity, kindness and respect and although he obviously wasn't happy with his situation, he was happy and settled there.

Whenever I visited the staff were friendly and helpful and I was kept well informed of any medical issues or problems. More importantly, my Uncle was always consulted about any treatments or changes and his wishes were listened to and respected.

I live in the USA and my Mum has been a resident with Princess Lodge for a few years now as she has dementia. The Staff are always so friendly and helpful and my Mum has a lovely room. She is very well cared for. The Staff at Princess Lodge recognize how important it is to me to maintain contact with my Mum and they make it very easy for me to stay in contact. The Manager sets up a TEAMs call for during the week for when I request it, and then arranges for my Mum to be in the office so that I we can video chat together. It is really wonderful. With the difference in time zones, I call in the early morning from the USA and it is end of day in the UK. My other siblings live closer by in the UK and visit regularly and take Mum out for coffee or lunch when they can. I highly recommend Princess Lodge.

Emanuel Olari
Emanuel OlariJob Title:ManagerJoined: 2022

I have been a Registered Nurse for over 8 Years and providing the people living with us at Princess Lodge with an environment where they receive excellence in all aspects of their care is of the utmost importance to me. I started my career working in the Isle of Wight as a care assistant for over a year before moving to Northampton where I joined MMCG in 2017.

Starting as a nurse with MMCG, I received the support I needed to improve my skills and gain the knowledge needed to be promoted to deputy manager. I continued my career progression and went on to become a nurse practitioner in the clinical quality team, and finally moved to be a quality excellence partner to support homes at a national level, one of which was Princess Lodge.

I enjoyed supporting Princess Lodge and the people working and living at the home and I was pleased to have been given the opportunity to manage it in 2022.

Shortly after and under my management I am proud to say that we got a CQC good rating which I believe is attributed in part, to the home-from-home feel that has been created.

I operate an open-door policy for the people living, working, and visiting Princess Lodge so they always have an opportunity to speak to me within a supportive environment.
