Thank you for your comments. The Home Manager works long hours during the week and visits the Home some weekends. She noted that you appeared to have been enjoying the sunshine with your Mother in the courtyard garden on your recent visit on Sunday and did not want to disturb you as you both looked as if you were enjoying some time together. The Deputy Manager also works alternative weekends at the Home, and the EAB Manager works at least once a month at weekends. Please do approach them during your visits if you have any concerns and they will be happy to help. It is unfortunate that you were not made aware that the Management team are in the Home when you visit. A staff ratio of 1 to 4.5 is the average staffing at weekends, and the ratio is often 1 staff to 4 Residents – above establishment hours. We revisit and reassess our Residents level of needs regularly in order to ensure the staffing levels are appropriate. Unfortunately there are times for example, when colleagues are ill where the Home works to establishment hours. The staffing levels were reviewed at a recent CQC inspection and no concerns were raised in relation to colleague availability. I am glad that you find colleagues kind, and it is noted that no specific concerns have been brought to the attention of colleagues directly at the Home, either verbally or in writing. If you have any concerns whatsoever on any day that you visit please raise them with Management or the Nursing Team.
Thank you for your comments and I am pleased to note that you thought that the staff were magic. The management team co-ordinated activities for you such as going to the pub for a meal, on an individual basis with the well-being co-ordinator and we are happy that you enjoyed it so much that you asked to go out again with the staff, after you had left the Home. The Home Manager and the Deputy Manager regularly walk around the Home and spent time with yourself on numerous occasions. I understand that you believe that you did not receive any physiotherapy whilst at the nursing home on an EAB basis, however, it does appear that you were offered this service and decided not to follow their instructions.
