Since my mum came to Abbey Park she has had nothing but the best of care and attention. She loves all the staff and is very happy here even through her hard times, all the staff cared and looked after her needs which helped her to get back to where she is today, we cannot thank you all for the way you

I want to say thank you to all the wonderful staff for the absolutely fantastic care that was given to my recently deceased mother for the last five years. I have, myself, worked in mental health care for some years, and am aware of many of the difficulties involved. I spent a long time choosing which
care home would be the most pleasant, suitable and comfortable for Mum as her dementia progressed, and can only say how gratified I am that I chose Abbey Park Nursing Home.
She has always, without fail, been treated with the utmost respect and dignity by all of the terrific staff there and I am truly grateful to all of them. It was a huge effort to get her out of hospital and home to Abbey Park for her final thirty days but was definitely worth it. She eventually passed away peacefully and painlessly, which would not have been the case had she remained in hospital.

Our aunt moved to Abbey Park for the last few weeks of her life and received compassionate care from the skilled nurses and carers at Abbey Park. She was treated with dignity and respect and staff did all they could to ensure we could visit regularly (and safely). Thank you to all the staff involved

My dad came to Abbey park for end of life care after he was too ill to be at home. Although it was awful knowing he wouldn’t come home, I cannot recommend this home highly enough. He had a lovely room that was very bright and very clean. The staff went above and beyond to take care of him. Because of
COVID, I couldn’t visit him, but they kept me up to date with his daily life. My dad had terminal cancer and vascular dementia, but the staff made sure he was washed and clean-shaven every day which to us as a family and my dad meant the world as he was a very proud man. I was called in on numerous occasions because he deteriorated so much, and every time the staff were very caring and came in to check I was ok and ask if I needed anything. My dad was always very clean and in clean pyjamas every day. I also know that when he was near his time, staff members would pop in and sit with him. I can’t thank everyone enough for the wonderful care they took of my amazing dad.

I have been very happy with Abbey Park care and staff, they go above and beyond to keep all residents safe and happy. My mother has settled well which gives me great peace of mind. I viewed lots of homes around Coventry and this was the only one I wanted her to be in.

Since visiting my grandma for the first time at Abbey Park, I was amazed by the excellent staff and facilities. It's unlike any other care home and is the best. I am impressed by the fantastic communication skills, whether that be watching a video of grandma singing on Facebook or receiving a letter

We chose this home for my dad as when we looked around it, the feeling was warm and the staff were lovely. We were not disappointed. My dad passed away in March and the last 10 months he was with Abbey Park were the nicest since his dementia was diagnosed. We genuinely felt like he was in a home from
home. The staff not only looked after my dad but they got to know the family too and my mum always enjoyed visiting, being able to make a cup of tea and never felt that anything was too much trouble from providing updates or inviting her to join in the activities too. I know mum misses the staff at Abbey Park as I do too. They made my dad's dementia bearable and treated my dad in a kind, loving and respectable way. Well done Abbey Park I would recommend you to anyone.

I have been overwhelmed by the care and compassion shown during the Covid outbreak. My mother was critically ill and we thought we were about to lose her. We asked for her to be moved back home to Abbey Park to be with familiar staff when we could not be with her. They did not hesitate and made all
the arrangements quickly. They have been exceptional in supporting her recovery and giving us honest information about how she was. It was such a pleasant surprise to see her in the garden singing and enjoying the outdoors in the video. Well done Abbey Park and well done Mum. We are eternally grateful.

All the staff at Abbey Park that I have seen or been in contact with on my visits have always left me feeling as if my dad is being left with family members. They tell we what he has been up to, what he's eating and drinking, and how his behaviour has been. They are also keeping us up to date on his
health and how he feels about being in Abbey Park. The videos on Facebook are brilliant. I can see the changes in him since lock down and there has been a great improvement in him.

My mum is a resident at Abbey Park and I can't say how grateful our family are for the fantastic care and love that has been shown to her and our family. They really go out of their way to keep residents safe and happy and entertained. Also they keep family updated on our loved ones. 100% recommend.

My husband has been a resident since Oct 2019. The standard of care he is receiving is high. The staff are trained to a high standard and this is evident in their interactions with the residents, some of whom display challenging behaviour. I am always welcomed with a smile and relatives needs are also
taken into account and help offered with emotional issues during difficult times. Abbey Park is a homely care home, home from home where my husband is happy and safe.

When mum's needs increased, we had to move her from a residential care home where she was settled and happy, to nursing home care. This was stressful for all of us, but we needn't have worried. From the start, mum has received exceptional care at Abbey Park and has been treated with the utmost dignity
and respect. All the carers and nurses are unfailingly patient, kind and helpful to mum, and allow her to make her own choices about what she does day by day so far as she is able. As a regular visitor, I am always greeted by name on the unit, and I feel that I too am well cared for by the staff. It is a massive relief for us to know that mum is receiving such excellent care.

As a family, we had always said that our mum, who suffered from dementia, would never go into a care home and cared for her ourselves for a number of years following her diagnosis. However, following an operation, this was no longer possible. Whilst this was devasting for us we felt fortunate to have
found Abbey Park. Mum was only there for a month before she passed away, but in that time the care she was shown was exceptional. All of the staff treated Mum with the utmost kindness and compassion and went above and beyond what we could have expected, such as ensuring that her favourite music was always playing. We were able to stay with her constantly during her final days, which the staff ensured were peaceful and dignified, and for that, we will be eternally grateful. As a family, we were shown the same level of kindness and respect at the most difficult of times. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Abbey Park to anyone.

Tina Thompson is the dedicated care home Manager at MHA Abbey Park, bringing over two decades of experience to her role. She qualified as a nurse in 2000 and has worked with MHA for 22 years, progressing from a nurse to deputy manager, and now proudly leading the home as manager for the past 16 years.


Tina is passionate about delivering exceptional care and fostering a warm, supportive environment for both residents and staff. Her leadership is deeply rooted in a person-centred approach, where the emotional well-being of each individual is just as important as their physical care.
