Allesley Hall helped our mum transition from living at home to full-time care with respect and dignity. The same was also shown to our family at a very difficult time. Mum is now safe and happy, we couldn't ask for more. Thank you.
Reply from Nadine Webster, Home Manager at Allesley HallThank you for your kind words. It is reassuring to know that you feel your mum and family were treated with dignity and respect at a difficult time and that your mum is now safe and happy.

I would highly recommend Allesley Hall. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The care is exceptional. My dad was here also. My mum is so happy and settled. The rooms are lovely, very clean and comfortable. The setting is lovely with well-looked-after grounds and gardens. A very welcoming home.

My Mum has been a resident at Allesley Hall since December 2021 and I could not wish for a better place for her to live now. All of the staff, from the manager to the nurses and carers, right to the catering and housekeeping staff are kind, helpful, pleasant, and patient. Nothing is too much trouble
and I am always made to feel very welcome when I visit. Although making the decision to move Mum to a nursing home following a stroke was a difficult and painful decision, I am 100% confident that she is in the right place for her and I know she is being incredibly well looked after. When I leave after visiting her I never have to worry. I know she is in the very safest of hands. Thank you to all of you who work there, you are all angels, every single one of you.
Reply from Nadine Webster, Home Manager at Allesley HallThank you for your kind words of appreciation, it truly means so much to the team.

Sadly my Mum was only at Allesley Hall for a few weeks, the standard of care was outstanding, from every member of staff. Each and every one of them went above and beyond the call of duty. Not only did they give mum first-class treatment and care, they also looked after me, keeping me informed all the
time and checking I was okay as well. Nothing was too much trouble. I cannot express my gratitude to the whole team enough. They ensured mum's last days were pain-free and peaceful. Saying thank you seems so inadequate. The staff are obviously trained to the highest standard. They are professional, kind, aware of my needs as well as mum's, and everywhere was spotlessly clean. But more than that, every member of staff genuinely cares not only for the resident but for the whole family. All I can say is thank you. You helped me more than you will ever know, during a very sad time.

My mum, was a resident here for the last 15 months of her life, having had Alzheimer's and Vascular Dementia for nearly 10 years. The staff here are fabulous and extremely professional in their care and support both to my mum and to myself and my family. The home is both clean and free of the smells
that you often get when going into a care home which tells you of the standard of care and attention to the residents. The staff also go above and beyond with their stimulation and activities for the residents which keeps them as active as possible both in mind and body. The residents are treated as family by all the staff and give them the level of dignity that you would wish for your family member. The grounds are fabulous and very tranquil, I only hope that if I were to ever need residential support in my latter years that I could also be considered for a place here. I can not recommend this home highly enough. Mum passed away on the 18th of June 2021.
Reply from Bernie Parrott, Home Manager at Allesley HallIt was lovely to read your comments. We were very sorry to lose your Mum recently, as you say, she had become part of our family. I will make sure the staff see this lovely review and I am sure it will be a boost for them all in these hard times.

My overriding emotion in thinking about Allesley Hall is intense gratitude. All the staff there are not “just” good, they are exceptional, every single one that I met. The care given to my Mum and myself was wonderful, attentive, professional, calm and comprehensive. Mum only had a short time there,
as she was extremely ill but in that time I was overwhelmed with the levels of compassion and a sense of being cushioned and comforted through Mum’s last days. My only sadness is that we did not have more time there for Mum and us to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and the very highest quality care that comes from having a clearly excellent management team and the most stringent level of standards. I really cannot recommend Allesley Hall highly enough. It will forever hold a special place in my heart. Thank you so much to all of you.
Reply from Bernie Parrott, Home Manager at Allesley HallThank you for the review that you have submitted. A friend of mine had been a resident at Allesley Hall for over three years, and I would like to commend the staff for the care that he has received during that time. He passed away in May 2021, after many years of suffering with a progressive and debilitating disease. I found it always clean and pleasant
for residents and visitors, and the staff were always happy to find time to talk with me about my friend's situation. The Home is in a beautiful setting with extensive gardens and wonderful period features inside. A quality home with caring staff.

Allesley Hall is an excellent nursing home. My Father-in-Law moved there in September 2018 for end of life care (only predicted for a few weeks), but in the end, he lived there happily for 18 months before passing away in April this year. This lengthening of his life was due to the amazing care he received
at Allesley Hall. The staff there are fantastic, both the nurses and the care staff and the management team - the staff are well trained and very caring for the residents. All my Father-in-law's medical needs were ably taken care of, but the staff were so kind and thoughtful as well, both to him and my Mother-in-Law, who visited every day and so built up a lovely rapport with the staff. When it was my Father-in-Law's or my Mother-in-Law's birthday, or their anniversary, the staff made a real fuss of them both, which was lovely. The staff also decorated the home for Halloween, Christmas, Easter etc, and had lots of celebrations throughout the year, which was great for the residents.

Allesley Hall has provided excellent care to my mother during the Covid-19 period. When she was isolated we were kept informed and the situation was explained clearly to her. If we have contacted the home we have been treated with courtesy and respect and great professionalism. In the absence of visitors
and entertainment from external sources, the activities coordinator has worked hard to stimulate and motivate the residents. Staff have gone the extra mile to make residents as comfortable and happy as possible in very difficult circumstances.

During this unprecedented time, I have been impressed with the care Mum has received. She tested positive for coronavirus which must have been brought into the home as she had no contact with anybody else once the home went into lockdown. However, the staff has cared for her as though she was part of
their own family. The staff have regularly updated me on any issues and enabled me to share Mum's 90th birthday, outside, with social distancing. Please say thank you to all the staff.

Mum is 94, with vascular dementia. Mum came out of hospital after having a fall, leaving her with a broken hip, stroke, resulting in paralysis down her right-hand side, leaving her bed-bound. From day one the staff made Mum and the family very welcome. We can't fault the care mum has been given. The
carers are excellent and go beyond what is expected of them, showing great kindness and respect for Mum. Mum seems happy and content and we couldn't ask for anything more.

When an elderly person enters a new environment; adopting to a new regime will eventually happen but it's the bonds created with the nursing and caring staff, that make the difference between a reluctant, recalcitrant transition and a more graceful transition. Even though Allesley Hall Nursing Home
is a beautiful building (new roof being added as I write) and set in alluring gardens.
It is the daily routines, entertainment/exercise sessions, and caring of the staff, that make Allesley a special home.
Weekly visits by the Doctor, Physio and Hairdresser (hairdresser important for my mother) give residents something to look forward to; as daily life and routines continue.
Even through the Covid19 Lockdown, the staff would provide updates on relatives and telephone access at all times.
Allesley Hall Nursing Home staff provide safety, empathy, observance, fun and solace.
An oasis in a troubled world, of finding a good care home.

This nursing home is outstanding. The staff are amazing - they work as one team, they are caring, loyal and loving and respectful of their residents and their relatives. There is always a buzz of activity in the care home and the residents are clearly very happy and it is clear that they regard this
beautiful building and garden as their home and are happy to do so. The GP, Chaplains and visiting nursing staff are also excellent. All of the other relatives that I have spoken to think that this nursing home is outstanding, finally, Christmas, Halloween, Summer festivals, birthdays are all celebrated, over the top and brilliant! Thank you.

Allesley Hall is an amazing nursing home.
Our mother has been in the home since July 2019.
The care offered to the residents is outstanding.
All residents individual care needs appear to be met whenever we call.
The staff treat residents with respect and dignity.
The manager is so approachable
and from my observations is a competent and caring leader and with her leadership skills, this approach is evident from all the staff.
We are delighted our mum is being cared for in a fantastic nursing home and my mum is delighted too.
I would recommend Allesley Hall to anyone who needed nursing care.

My mother was transferred to Allesley Hall from hospital. My mother was very poorly and frail and needed intensive nursing care. Mother is blind and we were all extremely anxious and worried about how she would cope with the transition to a new environment. The care, attention and compassion has been
second to none. As a family, we were made so welcome and to say mother has thrived at Allesley is an understatement. Every aspect of the home is five star, from the actual environment to the staff and attention to detail. A special mention needs to be made of the caring attentive responsive staff. The trained nurses are always around and visible to answer any queries. As a family, we have found the daily activity programme fabulous and this is something that my mother has really enjoyed. Mother now is the best she has been for a number of years and is it down to the outstanding care and interventions of Allesley.

Mum was a resident at Allesley Hall for over five years and sadly passed away on 13/09/19 aged 100 years old.
This review covers a long period of time, so sometimes the care etc was excellent but not always. Therefore I feel that a rating between good and excellent is fair. Overall, the family were
very satisfied with the care mum received at Allesley Hall.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.920)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.920) out of 10 for Allesley Hall is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 33 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.920 for Allesley Hall is calculated as follows: ( (357 Excellents x 5) + (29 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 387 Ratings = 4.92
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Allesley Hall is based on 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 45 registered maximum number of service users is 9, which has been reached with 33 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
