I can't fault the care given to mum at Allesley Hall. We have gone through a difficult year with COVID and the home has accommodated all one's needs to the best of their ability. Very pleased with mum's care package. Thank you.
Reply from Bernie Parrott, Home Manager at Allesley HallThank you for your feedback. I am so pleased that you have been happy with the care given to your Mum. The last year has been very difficult and we are all looking forward to being able to welcome visitors back into the home when it is safe.

My mum enjoys her time. They do activities and crafts which she enjoys. She enjoys the grounds and to be able to get outside. She is well taken care of and I am happy with the care she gets. It is reassuring not to have to worry about her. All in all, I'm happy that she is happy where she is.

Allesley Hall is an excellent nursing home. My Father-in-Law moved there in September 2018 for end of life care (only predicted for a few weeks), but in the end, he lived there happily for 18 months before passing away in April this year. This lengthening of his life was due to the amazing care he received
at Allesley Hall. The staff there are fantastic, both the nurses and the care staff and the management team - the staff are well trained and very caring for the residents. All my Father-in-law's medical needs were ably taken care of, but the staff were so kind and thoughtful as well, both to him and my Mother-in-Law, who visited every day and so built up a lovely rapport with the staff. When it was my Father-in-Law's or my Mother-in-Law's birthday, or their anniversary, the staff made a real fuss of them both, which was lovely. The staff also decorated the home for Halloween, Christmas, Easter etc, and had lots of celebrations throughout the year, which was great for the residents.

Allesley Hall has provided excellent care to my mother during the Covid-19 period. When she was isolated we were kept informed and the situation was explained clearly to her. If we have contacted the home we have been treated with courtesy and respect and great professionalism. In the absence of visitors
and entertainment from external sources, the activities coordinator has worked hard to stimulate and motivate the residents. Staff have gone the extra mile to make residents as comfortable and happy as possible in very difficult circumstances.
Reply from Bernie Parrott, Home Manager at Allesley HallThank you for your lovely comments. The COVID-19 pandemic has been a challenge to us all, and I am so proud of the staff here who have really gone the extra mile, as you say. I will pass on the comments to the staff who will be pleased to hear them.

During this unprecedented time, I have been impressed with the care Mum has received. She tested positive for coronavirus which must have been brought into the home as she had no contact with anybody else once the home went into lockdown. However, the staff has cared for her as though she was part of
their own family. The staff have regularly updated me on any issues and enabled me to share Mum's 90th birthday, outside, with social distancing. Please say thank you to all the staff.

Mum is 94, with vascular dementia. Mum came out of hospital after having a fall, leaving her with a broken hip, stroke, resulting in paralysis down her right-hand side, leaving her bed-bound. From day one the staff made Mum and the family very welcome. We can't fault the care mum has been given. The
carers are excellent and go beyond what is expected of them, showing great kindness and respect for Mum. Mum seems happy and content and we couldn't ask for anything more.

When an elderly person enters a new environment; adopting to a new regime will eventually happen but it's the bonds created with the nursing and caring staff, that make the difference between a reluctant, recalcitrant transition and a more graceful transition. Even though Allesley Hall Nursing Home
is a beautiful building (new roof being added as I write) and set in alluring gardens.
It is the daily routines, entertainment/exercise sessions, and caring of the staff, that make Allesley a special home.
Weekly visits by the Doctor, Physio and Hairdresser (hairdresser important for my mother) give residents something to look forward to; as daily life and routines continue.
Even through the Covid19 Lockdown, the staff would provide updates on relatives and telephone access at all times.
Allesley Hall Nursing Home staff provide safety, empathy, observance, fun and solace.
An oasis in a troubled world, of finding a good care home.

This nursing home is outstanding. The staff are amazing - they work as one team, they are caring, loyal and loving and respectful of their residents and their relatives. There is always a buzz of activity in the care home and the residents are clearly very happy and it is clear that they regard this
beautiful building and garden as their home and are happy to do so. The GP, Chaplains and visiting nursing staff are also excellent. All of the other relatives that I have spoken to think that this nursing home is outstanding, finally, Christmas, Halloween, Summer festivals, birthdays are all celebrated, over the top and brilliant! Thank you.

Allesley Hall is an amazing nursing home.
Our mother has been in the home since July 2019.
The care offered to the residents is outstanding.
All residents individual care needs appear to be met whenever we call.
The staff treat residents with respect and dignity.
The manager is so approachable
and from my observations is a competent and caring leader and with her leadership skills, this approach is evident from all the staff.
We are delighted our mum is being cared for in a fantastic nursing home and my mum is delighted too.
I would recommend Allesley Hall to anyone who needed nursing care.

My mother was transferred to Allesley Hall from hospital. My mother was very poorly and frail and needed intensive nursing care. Mother is blind and we were all extremely anxious and worried about how she would cope with the transition to a new environment. The care, attention and compassion has been
second to none. As a family, we were made so welcome and to say mother has thrived at Allesley is an understatement. Every aspect of the home is five star, from the actual environment to the staff and attention to detail. A special mention needs to be made of the caring attentive responsive staff. The trained nurses are always around and visible to answer any queries. As a family, we have found the daily activity programme fabulous and this is something that my mother has really enjoyed. Mother now is the best she has been for a number of years and is it down to the outstanding care and interventions of Allesley.

Mum was a resident at Allesley Hall for over five years and sadly passed away on 13/09/19 aged 100 years old.
This review covers a long period of time, so sometimes the care etc was excellent but not always. Therefore I feel that a rating between good and excellent is fair. Overall, the family were
very satisfied with the care mum received at Allesley Hall.

We knew as soon as we saw Allesley Hall we didn't need to view any other nursing homes. The atmosphere amongst staff was upbeat and friendly. Couldn't have asked for a more perfect place for my mother-in-law to spend her final weeks. ALL members of staff were always approachable and accommodating. Thank
you.

I cannot rate this home highly enough.
My mother entered Allesley Hall in a very ill and weakened state, so much so that my father stayed with her on her second night there as it was felt that my mum wouldn't make it through the night. However, I feel it is entirely down to the care my mum has been
given, she is making great progress and is gradually gaining weight (a gram at a time but it is still a gain) and is feeling much better. On top of this, the home has also cared for my father's well being and I can't thank them enough. My parents are both in their 80's and whilst being separated at the end of my mum's life isn't ideal Allesley has provided a home away from home for them, offering support and comfort whilst being upbeat and cheerful they have earned my utmost admiration.
The rooms themselves are a little dated but clean and comfortable. Mum was well enough to spend some time at a recent fete there and had a good time listening to the band. Thank you, Allesley Hall!

My dear wife was in the care of the staff at Allesley Hall for the last few months of her life. From the outset, we were made to feel most welcome by thoughtful and caring staff who always had a ready smile and gave quality time and attention to my wife's needs. All staff, nurses, carers, catering and
housekeeping, admin and management has the same caring attitude. Over and above the daily care need there was always a good range of activities for residents and visitors to enjoy. Visiting staff eg SALT, had the same caring attitude and the Chaplin was a great support and comfort. I was also impressed by the careful record keeping of nurses and carers.

I can not praise the staff enough for their care, warmth, professionalism, patience and humour. My mother could not have received better care and we her family, could not have been made to feel more welcomed. The garden fetes and daily activities all added to the wonderful service provided at this amazing

The staff at Allesley Hall gave excellent palliative care and friendship to my father in the last couple of months of his life. He was happy there and enjoyed the food and activities, as well as the company of other residents. In his last few days, we were able to be with Dad around the clock, which
was so important to us. We were all treated with dignity, care and kindness. Thank you.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.881)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.881) out of 10 for Allesley Hall is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 28 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.881 for Allesley Hall is calculated as follows: ( (296 Excellents x 5) + (29 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 329 Ratings = 4.881
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Allesley Hall is based on 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 45 registered maximum number of service users is 9, which has been reached with 27 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
