My mother was placed here temporarily after leaving hospital. Unfortunately, I should've checked the place out in person before she was put there. I relied on reviews on the website, and although I suspect some of the areas in the home on the ground floor are quite different, having seen the place on the tv over the past couple of months and the pictures on the website , the room where my mother was placed, on the first floor, was of a low standard. The room was in bad need of decoration and the adjoining toilet and wash basin were dysfunctional and in need of replacement. The standard of cleanliness in the room was not great either. Some of the staff were very helpful and kind, but others were not so accommodating. Overall, not a great place for your loved one. If you are offered a place here, proceed with caution and check it out properly first.

When my husband Bob had to come into care it was a huge worry, but from the start, the warm atmosphere and caring staff at Newbury were immediately apparent. Bob has dementia so it is difficult to know his true feelings but recently he has said to family that he is very happy at Newbury, and this is a credit to all the staff who look after him as Alzheimers can be difficult to manage. The rest of the family feel comforted that he is well cared for and says the staff love him. I couldn't be more content to feel he is in the right place.
Thank you very much for your wonderful words. We take such pride within Newbury Manor of being able to care for our residents the very best we can. I shall pass on your kind words to the Newbury Manor Family.

So many Safeguarding issues! Includes two broken femurs and more falls and bruises than I can remember. Very poor comunication. Clothing ruined, items missing - even after leaving (family pics). Very slow to respond to official communication if at all. Mom has gone from feeding herself, sitting in the lounge and talking to nonverbal, bedridden and is so weak.
Thank you for your review and comments. Ensuring patient safety is of utmost importance, and while we cannot completely eliminate falls, we can certainly take measures to reduce the associated risks. It is essential to acknowledge that certain health deteriorations and comorbidities are beyond our...
