My mother has been a resident at Blossomfield Grange for five months now. The staff on reminiscence have been brilliant with her. Helping her to settle after a lot of anxiety issues. Rooms and living area always very clean and food is good with lots of choice. Plenty of activities going on and Mom enjoys
the minibus outings.

It was a very hard decision to place my husband in care, but I must say, I am so glad it was Blossomfields. The care that the staff give to my husband is above what you could hope for. Each time I visit, it is quite obvious that he is well looked after and loved by the carers, and his reaction is reciprocated
to the carers. He always looks clean and tidy and well content. As you walk into Blossomfields, there is a friendly greeting from reception. The ambience of Blossomfields is a warm and comfortable homely place, with lovely gardens to walk around, as most days, weather permitting, my husband does.

My parents moved into Blossomfield Grange last year. Sadly my mother passed away soon after. So unfortunately she didn't get to enjoy the surroundings for very long, but the day after they moved in I asked her what she thought and she said, it's very comfortable, I think we are going to be ok here.
The staff at the home were very supportive to both my father and the family at this time.
The staff are always super friendly and have helped my father to settle in well. The rooms are lovely and the food is very good. There are lots of nice features like the bistro where we can meet for coffee and the private dining room where guests can dine with Dad when they visit. It makes visits from friends and relatives that have to travel a distance, so much easier.
Overall, I think we made a very good choice in moving my parents to Blossomfield Grange. I only wish we had done it sooner.

In November and December last year my wife, who has Alzheimer's, needed respite care and spent twenty-eight days in Blossomfield Grange Care Home. From the beginning, I found the staff to be attentive, helpful and caring. All the facilities are good and the gardens are lovely. As my wife has now entered
the home for a further period of respite care, I have confidence in knowing that she will be well looked after. Whenever I visit, I can see that my wife particularly appreciates the activities provided.

This is a lovely home with a very caring team. It has a wonderful atmosphere with bright, airy living areas, and the resident's rooms are also good sizes. There are many activities for residents if they wish to get involved, and often families are invited to attend garden parties. The food is very good,
and there is a private dining room for residents to eat with their friends and families. The care was very good, and my father seemed very happy there. I would recommend it.

My aunt has been a resident for many years and having been a very independent lady prior to her residence we as a family knew it would be really hard for her to adjust to life in a care home. Blossomfield Grange has met every challenge faced along the way with great patience, care and support. Auntie
likes her own space and the staff have proven to acknowledge and respect this allowing for my aunt to adapt and develop her own routine which she likes. I do not live near the home so it is comforting to know that at all times there is such a high and loving standard of care.

The staff here are absolutely lovely, I watch how they interact with the residents and they are friendly, warm, caring and humorous even when things can be challenging.
My nan has been a resident here for a few years, initially in the general residential area and latterly in the special care area for
those with dementia. The staff seem to have endless patience and most importantly treat the residents with dignity and respect whilst being firm when it is required.
Last week my nan celebrated her 100th birthday and the staff made a huge effort to make the day very special for both my nan and our family. We were all quite overwhelmed with everything that they did, making the event quite emotional. It is telling that my nan, who unfortunately now has little short-term memory, could still recall the celebrations on the following day.

Since my Dad moved into Blossomfield Grange a few months ago, every single member of staff has been friendly and welcoming. The admission process was made so easy for him and he has now settled in well. The food generally is very good with alternatives available. He has needed extra care the last few
weeks and it is incredibly reassuring for the family to know that Dad is in a safe place.

We have two relatives currently residing at Blossomfield Grange Care Home, both of whom moved in when the home was managed by a different company. Since Care UK took over there have been clear signs of improvement and both relatives are very content with their accommodation and the standard of care.
The carers are kind and helpful but really come into their own when someone is ill. There is an excellent range of activities on offer and the staff work tirelessly to try to engage all the residents. At present, there is a senior manager temporarily in post, following the resignation of the previous incumbent. The newcomer is superb and will undoubtedly help to raise standards across the board. No care home is ever going to please every occupant in every aspect of their life all of the time because we are all individuals with differing opinions and standards but we feel that our relatives are safe, well-cared-for, well-fed, warm and surrounded by help when needed thanks to all who work there.

Overall, my father is very content, his care is excellent and activities enjoyed. The only criticism is that sometimes he feels he is not being listened to.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Personal Assistant at Blossomfield GrangeThank you for your feedback – we’re very happy to hear your father is happy with the care and activities at Blossomfield Grange. However, we’re very sorry to hear your father sometimes does not feel listened to, as it’s incredibly important to us that all our residents feel listened to and their feelings and wishes are always taken into account – we’ll make sure that we address this with the teams here so this doesn’t happen again. Thank you again for taking the time to write a review, and please let us know at any time if you have any further questions, comments or suggestions and we’ll be happy to help.

I am writing this review following the death of my mother at Blossomfield Grange in Solihull. She had been living there for almost 11 years until she sadly died there aged 101.
Over the past few weeks, as my mum has gradually slipped away, I have been overwhelmed by the care, and indeed the love,
that not just my mum but also my brother and myself have been shown by the colleagues in each and every one of the Blossomfield team. In my opinion, it has been the model example of how every single member of staff in a care home should see themselves as first and foremost caring for the residents, whatever their specific role title. At Blossomfield there is no doubt that they are indeed all carers for the family of residents who are living their later years in a residential environment. I have shared with so many friends and family (at times almost to their disbelief) just how incredible the last few days were of my mother's life thanks to the whole team at Blossomfield Grange.

I have lived at Blossomfield Grange since 6 September 2019. I love the garden and the grounds and like to walk around them. I also use the exercise bike daily to help keep me fit. I have made new friends with the residents and staff. The food is nice and varied and I can give my feedback at the monthly
food forum. The minibus trips are good but I would like to see more residents using them.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.789)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.789) out of 10 for Blossomfield Grange is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 28 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.789 for Blossomfield Grange is calculated as follows: ( (261 Excellents x 5) + (63 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 327 Ratings = 4.789
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Blossomfield Grange is based on 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 109 registered maximum number of service users is 21.8, which has been reached with 28 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

At Blossomfield Grange, we believe it is the people who make our home a truly happy and caring community. Backed by Care UK’s 40 years of experience in delivering award-winning care, our team of dedicated professionals undergoes an intensive training programme designed to keep residents' needs at the heart of everything we do.

As the Home Manager, I am proud to lead this team with a genuine passion for high-quality, person-centred care. For me, ‘good enough’ is never the standard we should aim for. I believe my role is to support our residents in remaining as independent and active as possible, ensuring their emotional and social well-being is nurtured alongside their clinical needs.

I hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care and have extensive experience in safeguarding, health and safety, and infection control. A defining highlight of my career was leading a previous home through its first CQC inspection, where we achieved a ‘Good’ rating across all five key areas—a standard of excellence I am committed to maintaining here.

I believe that effective management requires a blend of being extremely organised and possessing a deep intuitive understanding of people’s needs. By leading with empathy and compassion, I strive to instil a culture where dignity and respect are the default behaviours for both my colleagues and our residents. I am always approachable and stay closely connected to the daily life of the home through my regular walk-arounds. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the positive difference we make, especially when a resident achieves something they once thought was out of reach.

When I am not at home, I focus on recharging by spending quality time with my family. Whether I am out on a long walk, enjoying a shopping trip, or heading away for a weekend break, these moments allow me to return to Blossomfield Grange with the energy and focus needed to provide the best possible environment for our residents.
