I have found all staff very friendly, helpful and always most welcoming. The food is excellent, as is the atmosphere and my Mother has been made welcome and has settled in more than I could have hoped for, she enjoys all the entertainment and even joins in singing etc. A big thank you for making this change for both her and me such a happy experience.

All the care at the home has been 1st class. We could not have chosen a better place for my father! We have always found the home to be clean and tidy. Dad always tells us how good the food is!! Above all it is the caring staff who make the big difference.

Excellent facilities. Friendly and helpful staff. Carers in dementia ward (Reminiscence) occasionally overworked but always caring. My wife still thinks it is a holiday hotel.

I came to Sunrise of Solihull to have respite as I couldn't look after my husband at home, then I liked it here as the carers all look after us both. We are here permanently now as I like all the staff and Sunrise of Solihull is very clean and we are cared for very well.

Dad has been at Sunrise of Solihull since February 2016 and has been reasonably happy and contented most of the time. There have been some occasional issues which have been dealt with very well. I am still concerned that laundry was done once a week which has now been increased to twice. I would still like it to be more. His bed has sometimes been found wet, usually at the weekend. This does seem to have improved lately. In particular, nursing staff are very good and also activity staff.

Because the staff are so friendly and helpful, it feels more like a personal home than a residential home. Nothing is too much trouble for them no matter how busy they are. My relative's room is always clean and tidy and great care is taken when dressing my relative, as it is still important to her how she looks. There is a lovely garden and plenty of places to have a private conversation and a drink with your relative. The food is excellent and always a good choice.

Recently, my relative had a visit from an old friend, he belongs to a charity, who visits residents in homes, who have no visitors. He could only speak very highly of the home and assured me that in his opinion, it was of a very high standard. I have no hesitation in recommending the home and would like to thank the staff for all their hard work in looking after my relative.

I cannot praise the staff enough in the reminiscence area. They are SO caring and attentive to all the resident's needs and the level of activities is wonderful. The food is lovely and the choices are varied so there is always something to suit everyone's tastes. They always have a ready supply of drinks and juices and they really try to fulfil everyone's requests.
I am so very happy with every aspect of my mother's care and well-being and I cannot thank them enough for all they do.

We have had experience of another care home and appreciate how fantastic the care is here. Keep up the excellent work you all do.

On the whole, I like it here. The cooks are very kind and will do things for you. I like the food - there is always a choice. We do lots of activities which I enjoy. The laundry service is good. We go on trips, some of which I go on if they are places I want to go to. My main problem is I can't walk too well now - so that restricts where I go to. People work hard and some are not treated well in my opinion. I hate the way people moan.

Meet the Team (1)

Melissa Hunter
Melissa HunterJob Title:Home Manager

At Blossomfield Grange, we believe it is the people who make our home a truly happy and caring community. Backed by Care UK’s 40 years of experience in delivering award-winning care, our team of dedicated professionals undergoes an intensive training programme designed to keep residents' needs at the heart of everything we do.

As the Home Manager, I am proud to lead this team with a genuine passion for high-quality, person-centred care. For me, ‘good enough’ is never the standard we should aim for. I believe my role is to support our residents in remaining as independent and active as possible, ensuring their emotional and social well-being is nurtured alongside their clinical needs.

I hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care and have extensive experience in safeguarding, health and safety, and infection control. A defining highlight of my career was leading a previous home through its first CQC inspection, where we achieved a ‘Good’ rating across all five key areas—a standard of excellence I am committed to maintaining here.

I believe that effective management requires a blend of being extremely organised and possessing a deep intuitive understanding of people’s needs. By leading with empathy and compassion, I strive to instil a culture where dignity and respect are the default behaviours for both my colleagues and our residents. I am always approachable and stay closely connected to the daily life of the home through my regular walk-arounds. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the positive difference we make, especially when a resident achieves something they once thought was out of reach.

When I am not at home, I focus on recharging by spending quality time with my family. Whether I am out on a long walk, enjoying a shopping trip, or heading away for a weekend break, these moments allow me to return to Blossomfield Grange with the energy and focus needed to provide the best possible environment for our residents.
