I have always found all the nurses and reception very caring and loving to my mum and endlessly helpful to me. My mum was 102 years old so I know this would not have been, in any way, easy. My mum sadly passed away in April and I would like to thank everyone at Newlyn Court for their compassion and understanding and for the lovely card they sent.

A fabulous, caring environment! All staff are wonderfully generous with their time in keeping our mother safe and happy. Mom loves being here, and it shows in her smiles. The manager is hands-on and always free to listen to our queries and support Mom. We cannot thank Newlyn's staff enough.

Having to work through covid, I felt the staff worked professionally. I felt from the start, my mum entered the carehome till her passing, at ease with staff at the front desk to the carers. I never worried about my mum's being mistreated. I've got total trust in the care being provided, I also feel my Mum bonded with her carer which helped me with her been in care. I'd like to say a big thank you to all the staff.

My brother-in-law took up residence at Newlyn Court on the 9th of January 2020 and during the time he was in their care we were aware of the kindness and understanding that he received from all those attending to his needs. Their patience and help was always first class and we were so happy to leave my brother-in-law in their care and to know his wellbeing was of paramount importance to them. We will forever be grateful to all the staff who attended to his needs with such understanding and kindness.

The staff at Newlyn Court are unsung heroes! The care they gave to my mother during her time there was second to none. The home, the management and the staff at Newlyn Court are all exceptional and second to none. I would recommend this location to anyone looking to secure a safe and caring life for their elderly relatives. Thank you Newlyn Court!

Newlyn Court kindly agreed to take in our relation from a hospital stay. Our relative stayed there for her final four weeks and was treated with kindness and love until she passed away. The care staff/nursing staff/admin staff are incredible in every way. They never give up trying to feed the residents, give them drinks, keep them spotlessly clean and turn them on a regular basis, plus making sure that the medication is in place to keep them pain-free.

Nothing is too much trouble for whoever you ask, I find this incredible. Is was nice to see that every time our relative had her clothes washed, they actually came back to her room. She was kept immaculate. We, as a family, cannot fault this care home at all. Thank you for making her final days most comfy and for going above and beyond.

As my wife only stayed at Newlyn Court for one week in February 2020 my experience is limited, however, I was impressed by how well she was looked after by all the staff. The bedroom and the main rooms were fine. The meals were of a good standard. Generally, I felt everything that could be done was being done and overall I felt very grateful for the kindness and care shown.

My father moved into this care home in March 2019. We have nothing but praise for the staff and the care given to him from all the team, along with the access to external services when required. Not only was my father well looked after on a daily basis, but my mom was also always made extremely welcome within the home when visiting on alternative days, she appreciated the support she was given. Thank you.

Overall Experience

My daughter and I viewed many care/nursing homes and felt that Newlyn Court had a homely feel and could reach my husband's needs and we have not been disappointed. The inspection report put the home into special measures which we feel was totally unjustified. My husband is always clean and tidy, well-fed (good food), well cared for and the staff in all departments work very hard. My husband has many visitors most days and they are of the same opinion. I am sure that other resident's visitors feel the same. Obviously I am not aware of all that goes on and no one would expect 100%. If the inspection found the home to be as bad as they say I would not have my husband there.

I have used other care homes before but I feel Newlyn Court meets the needs for my husband. It's spacious and room to move because my husband needs room to walk. The staff always friendly and always answer my questions and I never feel anxious when I leave as I know he's in good hand because family is precious.

We were very worried at first as we had a bad experience before. Newlyn Court changed our minds. My father-in-law was very impressed with the care. My mother-in-law's condition improved when she was in respite and was eating better, this made us very happy as a family. Also, the staff, management and nurses were very good. On the ball and always kept us informed. We have booked mum in again for respite.

Overall Experience

Both my mom and dad reside at Newlyn Court and have been there just over a year after a previous care placement. I find the staff to be friendly at all times and they have strived to assist mom with her personal care which normally was very difficult. They always look clean and tidy and seem very settled. Newlyn Court is always clean and the beds are always made, laundry hung in wardrobes exceptional really. The only gripe is residents are charged for live singers and not much one to one activity takes place.
