Since my dad moved into Stretton, the team have been consistently caring, respectful and attentive. They communicate clearly with us, assist with daily needs and always treat him with dignity. The home is well run and we feel reassured knowing he's in such capable hands. Highly recommended.

Husband spent just under a year at Stretton having been fast tracked from hospital. He had a simple, bright and airy room ideal for his situation. Staff especially nurses + carers were wonderful, couldn't have been kinder. It was like one big family food was wholesome and plentiful. At the end he was treated with such dignity. Lovely situation with wonderful views.

The Staff are lovely here, and my Nan is well looked after it's definitely given me peace of mind to know that she is safe and well looked after. As I live two hours away I can't come down as often as I'd like but when I call up the staff are always friendly and nothing is ever to much.

A very efficient and friendly nursing home, this staff are the most smiliest of people I have ever met.

They are all very approachable to their patients and visitors. The care they show is excellent.

Home is looking rather tired however the excellent staff make up for this. Always ready to help residents and always happy and friendly. I recently put a TV in room so films can be played from a hard drive. The remote went missing and was replaced with one that could not access the hard drive. When this was pointed out the home purchased a brand new remote for the TV. Staff now play films to keep my relative entertained. I cannot fault them.

Although the building and rooms are rather tired and in need of an upgrade the staff and ambience do currently make up for this. They are all caring and friendly and develop a personal rapport with residents. Particularly outstanding is the current manager who goes out of her way to treat residents with dignity and respect. Security is excellent and great extra events, facilities i.e. hairdressers etc provided.

My mother's stay at Stretton Nursing Home was excellent. The staff were very attentive and caring. As soon as we asked for anything to be done they were there to cater for my mother's needs straight away and with a smile. Even being asked to get her ready for a trip out at short notice, two carers would come very quickly. Thanks to everyone.

My stay has been beyond both a pleasure and a privilege. The staff from top to bottom have been most kind and attentive, quickly coupling my son (here on permanent stay) with my many visits to him, an ideal situation, understood and encouraged by all. I shall miss the friendly daily routine but all is not lost, my regular visits to my son will keep me in touch with your fine band of people. God Bless all.

My father moved into Stretton Nursing Home on the 14th December 2023 after I visited lots of different homes in Hereford. This was the first home that I felt he would be looked after in. The manager is always available to email/talk to and she responds very quickly to any queries that I have. Dad's room was newly decorated with new furniture, curtains etc. and is bright, airy with a beautiful view of the countryside. He loves the food and he, I feel, has now started to settle. All of the staff are incredibly friendly and all so caring. My mum visits daily and they are all so lovely to her as well. It has been a huge weight off my mind knowing that he is in a safe, clean and caring home. The whole process of putting him in a home has been mentally draining, but now he is at Stretton I can relax knowing that he is being well cared for.

Overall Experience
Mum arrived at Stretton in November following a lengthy stay in hospital. I was heartbroken at the time, as I always promised Mum that she would never be placed in a care home. Due to mixed dementia and very poor mobility, I knew that this was the only loving and caring thing I could agree to do. Whilst in hospital, Mum was extremely unsettled, constantly thinking she was being locked away and was very distressed, which in turn made me distressed and very upset.

After a few days of being at Stretton, Mum settled in very well. Due to me living away, the relief has been immense. I speak to Mum every day and she always says she is ok, warm, and comfy. Gone is the extreme distress and anxiety. On each occasion I have visited, the staff have been very welcoming and friendly. The food is ample and the menu seems to be varied. The home is clean and tidy and Mum's room is lovely. Nothing is more important than having your loved one cared for and the comfort that brings is priceless.

My husband came into the nursing home in June 2023. It was a very difficult time in our life. I could no longer cope at home - mobility problems. It was a sudden decision to come in. Staff very helpful, and he seemed to settle ok. We were very emotional, and all staff were supportive. There have been communication difficulties, but these are getting better as time goes by. The food is excellent, and my husband enjoys all the meals.

I believe my mom is well looked after. She is almost four weeks now in Stretton Nursing Home. The room is nice and clean. Food made for her nice and warm. I was asked a lot of questions about Mom and her interests and favourite foods.

From the moment Mum arrived at Stretton Nursing Home, she felt safe and received a high standard of care, compassion and understanding from her nurses, carers, office team and also the lovely staff who provided her refreshments. Her homely room was always kept clean and tidy and activities for the residents were thoughtfully structured to individual needs. My family and I will always be very grateful for the care Mum received at Stretton and for the compassion shown to me and my family by all the staff and the manager when she sadly passed away.
