Dad's care has been excellent from the first day he arrived at Grosvenor House until he sadly died. The staff have shown so much compassion to both Dad and ourselves. We spent the whole night with dad before he died and the staff looked after us with coffee/tea and biscuits. I just can't praise Grosvenor
House highly enough. Thank you for everything.

We had an emergency crisis with my 95-year-old father. I called and spoke with the admin and she was wonderful, nothing was too much trouble. They accepted my father at a moment's notice and really did take great care of him. The food was first-class and the entertainment coordinator and the nursing
staff were just brilliant. He looked ten years younger when they had finished with him. I feel sure I'll be calling on their services again! Great job!

The care my mother received at Grosvenor House was fantastic. The team are lovely and they gave my mother her dignity in very difficult circumstances. I have no hesitation in recommending Grosvenor House to anyone looking for care.

My mother was a resident at Grosvenor House from the end of December 2021 until she sadly passed away on Friday 18th March 2022. The staff were always very welcoming and extremely helpful and looked after my mom so well during her time with them. She was 92-years-old and I know she couldn't have been
the easiest patient to deal with as she was so devastated at the loss of her independence which she valued so much but everyone was so patient and caring in their approach. I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank all of the staff for making her last few weeks so comfortable and I would recommend this care home to everyone who is looking for similar care in this area.

I found Grosvenor House extremely clean and welcoming. My mam had been staying there since May last year. All of the staff are very friendly, patient and give excellent care. I was always kept informed of anything that Mam was going through with her health, or if she needed anything. The food was also
excellent. She loved the cooking and meals there. Her room was really nice, always clean, fresh and really well equipped. She was treated with dignity and respect at the end. They probably can't do the same activities at the moment due to Covid, but they work hard to keep everyone safe. I wouldn't have had Mam anywhere else.

Our mom was looked after by the staff at Grosvenor House until her death in February 2022. Since the end of May 2021, she has been well cared for. The staff were very kind especially as she was often frightened of being on her own and unhappy since her illness and the death of my dad. They kept us informed
and helped us care for her. We felt she was safe. The food was very good. The accommodation is excellent and very clean.

My husband has been in Grosvenor House since January this year. I have never heard a word of complaint about the staff, the food, which he said is very good with a choice at every meal. The care that he gets is first-class. I couldn't wish for him to be anywhere else.

My dad has only been at Grosvenor House for just over a week. The staff have made visiting very accessible and are very welcoming; when I first visited the home it had a very nice feeling to it and made me happy that my dad was spending his last days here, as previously he had had an awful experience
with the home that my mum was in. When the end of my dad's life was near I was contacted and all the staff were very supportive and let all of the family visit. Thank you to you all for caring so much about your residents.

My grandad came to Grosvenor House straight from the hospital. I was worried about visiting as my nan's care home was unsatisfactory in all aspects, but I was pleasantly surprised the first time I came to Grosvenor. All staff I encountered were friendly and amicable. Gramp's room was comfortable, spacious
and homely. I was always welcome whenever I wanted to visit and we were contacted promptly if there was any change. My grandad was happy here - thank you for providing for him in his last weeks

My father was transferred to Grosvenor House almost a year ago by the hospital as he required palliative care. From that point on we saw Dad slowly improve and begin to thrive. Lovely positive relationships flourished and it became clear that the time and care devoted to my father was the reason. He
began to interact and grew stronger. As a family, we cannot thank the team enough for what they do on a daily basis.

I have been very impressed with Grosvenor House throughout Dad's two years. The staff have always been considerate, cheerful, kind and responsive to Dad as an individual. It amazed me that they managed to bring out his dormant sense of humour and sociability. They coaxed him out of his shell and gave
him a real boost (this was especially important and a great comfort to me when Covid was at its height.) The home has such high standards of care, both on a day to day level and at times of crisis. Dad was looked after very well at the end and I was so grateful he was in their hands.

Couldn't have asked for a more welcoming, loving and caring home. They were her family too and cared for her in such a special, thoughtful, sensitive way. Everyone here from the cook, laundry lady, maintenance team, care team and nurses are all truly exceptional. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this
care home.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.999)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.999) out of 10 for Grosvenor House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 117 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 117 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.999 for Grosvenor House is calculated as follows: ( (1399 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 1401 Ratings = 4.999
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Grosvenor House is based on 117 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 31 registered maximum number of service users is 6.2, which has been reached with 117 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
