My dad has only been at Grosvenor House for just over a week. The staff have made visiting very accessible and are very welcoming; when I first visited the home it had a very nice feeling to it and made me happy that my dad was spending his last days here, as previously he had had an awful experience
with the home that my mum was in. When the end of my dad's life was near I was contacted and all the staff were very supportive and let all of the family visit. Thank you to you all for caring so much about your residents.

My grandad came to Grosvenor House straight from the hospital. I was worried about visiting as my nan's care home was unsatisfactory in all aspects, but I was pleasantly surprised the first time I came to Grosvenor. All staff I encountered were friendly and amicable. Gramp's room was comfortable, spacious
and homely. I was always welcome whenever I wanted to visit and we were contacted promptly if there was any change. My grandad was happy here - thank you for providing for him in his last weeks

My father was transferred to Grosvenor House almost a year ago by the hospital as he required palliative care. From that point on we saw Dad slowly improve and begin to thrive. Lovely positive relationships flourished and it became clear that the time and care devoted to my father was the reason. He
began to interact and grew stronger. As a family, we cannot thank the team enough for what they do on a daily basis.

I have been very impressed with Grosvenor House throughout Dad's two years. The staff have always been considerate, cheerful, kind and responsive to Dad as an individual. It amazed me that they managed to bring out his dormant sense of humour and sociability. They coaxed him out of his shell and gave
him a real boost (this was especially important and a great comfort to me when Covid was at its height.) The home has such high standards of care, both on a day to day level and at times of crisis. Dad was looked after very well at the end and I was so grateful he was in their hands.

Couldn't have asked for a more welcoming, loving and caring home. They were her family too and cared for her in such a special, thoughtful, sensitive way. Everyone here from the cook, laundry lady, maintenance team, care team and nurses are all truly exceptional. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this
care home.

My husband spent the last three and a half weeks of his life at Grosvenor House. I was able to visit every day despite very careful Covid restrictions. The care he received was excellent in spite of the fact that he was very ill. The staff were patient and supportive to me, particularly in his last
days.

I felt compelled to submit a review on the care and compassion the resident received whilst at Grosvenor House, he was treated with kindness, care and dignity.
The gentleman was only there for a short while but it was very clear when talking to the staff they took time to get to know him as a person
and find out what his likes and dislikes were very quickly.
Due to the pandemic visits needed to be planned in advance with the appropriate testing and PPE guidelines adhered to keep residents and staff safe.
The team were very professional and communication was excellent, the phone was always answered promptly, the staff knew my name and who I was enquiring about before I got to mention his name.
Just wanted to say thank you for all you are doing in these difficult times and for showing so much care to this gentleman during his short stay with you.

Whilst my mom was only with Grosvenor House for a short time I can only say how wonderful all of the staff have been. They were all so caring, helpful and supportive during the most difficult time and I am so grateful that Mom spent her last days in such a lovely home, surrounded by caring and loving
staff. Thank you all so much.

My mother-in-law was only in your care for 10 days but the love, compassion and dignity displayed has been excellent. Every effort was made to ensure she was made comfortable, loved and completely care for. It has been a home from home celebrating her birthday with bunting. Nothing was ever a trouble
and she was treated as wonderfully in her life and her death. Can't thank the staff enough. God bless you all.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.999)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.999) out of 10 for Grosvenor House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 116 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 116 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.999 for Grosvenor House is calculated as follows: ( (1385 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 1387 Ratings = 4.999
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Grosvenor House is based on 116 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 31 registered maximum number of service users is 6.2, which has been reached with 116 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
