The home is small - 22 residents. It is personalised as only a small turnover of staff with many staff being there long-term and local. Directors and nursing staff are good listeners and requests are immediately attended to. The dignity of everyone is evident and new residents are accepted as part of
the group. The coordinator of activities es excellent and is able to adjust levels as needed and takes small groups who are interested whilst others are dozing!

It is fair to say that without the care, support, compassion and love of all members of the team, the last few weeks would have been far more difficult for the patient and for us, her children.

A truly professional team, which we would recommend to anyone.

My mother was transferred from a long stay in hospital with end of life medication. I chose Grosvenor House from those I have been given because I immediately saw the friendliness and real care that come from all staff towards the wellbeing of both residents and visitors. My mom received attentive nursing
in a pleasant and calm environment, this gave me great confidence when I live so far away. My moms passing is being dealt with, with compassion which again, is very much appreciated.

I am Court of Protection for a resident at Grosvenor House in Alvechurch and the staff are so professional and friendly.
The place is very clean and well set out.
The meals are excellent and they take absolute top level care of their residents.
I am very happy with Grosvenor House and its facilities,
staff and cost.

We recently had to find a nursing home placement for my father in law at very short notice and I had to approach the manager at Grosvenor House to explain our situation and enquire as to a vacancy.
I have to say that I found the whole process, from my enquiring onwards, very positive, helpful and reassuring.
During
my father in law's stay at Grosvenor House, I was present for long periods and he received nothing but care and kindness, delivered in a homely but efficient manner.
I was particularly impressed by the fact that in the first few days the owner visited us and introduced himself and all the staff similarly introduced themselves.

My father was only in Grosvenor House for a very short time but he was comfortable and able to connect with all the wonderful staff be it nurses of ancillary. They all treated him with respect and friendliness.
He was bedridden and therefore unable to participate in the activities and unfortunately
too deaf to hear the rousing musical afternoons, but he did enjoy the view from the window, the lovely food and especially the puddings.

In my opinion and experience, since my mother became a resident here in February 2017, we have always found the staff to be very friendly and attentive. The management team are accessible at all times and will address any issues immediately and effectively. Also, some of the team are available for nursing
duties as well as administration. The home is set in beautiful grounds, beautifully decorated with stylish furnishings. Lovely home-cooked food and very clean, spacious surroundings, light and airy. A very calm welcoming home. Highly recommended.

My friend and neighbour was admitted in April 2017.
Since she has been there she has been treated with respect and dignity by friendly, caring and helpful staff.
There is always someone on hand to talk to.
The food is excellent and no one could care for her better.
We visit three/four times per
week and every time we visit she praises the care she is receiving.
Last time I visited she looked so well I cannot believe she is there for end of life care.

Really homely feel, all carers know the residents well and respond respectfully to their needs. Activities are excellent and stimulate residents on various levels. Nursing staff listen effectively and actively respond to needs/concerns of family whether actual or perceived - really well run - communications

I moved my mum to this nursing home in October 2016 as I was not pleased with the care at a previous nursing home.
All the staff, activity coordinator, kitchen staff, nursing staff - everyone, are always cheerful, helpful and show care and respect for the residents as well as their visitors.
The
nursing home itself has a 'homely' air rather than institutional. Whatever time of day I visit there is always someone to talk to, to see how my mother has been in herself.

Mum has been at Grosvenor House for just over 3 months. There were a few teething problems whilst mum got used to the change and the staff got used to mum.
Any problems or feedback has been addressed promptly.
I am very happy that mum is treated well and cared for to a very high standard would not
hesitate to recommend.

Grosvenor House has a lovely feel, the staff are all caring and provide consistently good quality care to all residents. I have observed them dealing with awkward residents with patience and good humour. The food is exceptionally good and a choice is always given. I cannot think of anywhere in the country
better.

The care home was happy to take my husband at fairly short notice, knowing that he needed "end of life care". He was not able to participate in group activities but all staff were understanding and caring and engaged him in conversation at very frequent intervals. The attitude of staff was attentive
and helpful, certain staff particularly so. He could not eat much so a lot of effort went with tempting him with food he might like and going out of their way to get things for him. He was made as comfortable as possible but his condition meant it was difficult to him.

The staff are always courteous and look after my father like he is one of the family, always with dignity and kindness the home is always spotless. They cater for all of my father's needs even when he can be awkward and he loves the food. Putting my father in a home was one of the most difficult decisions,
as a family, have ever had to make and we are so pleased we chose this home as we know he is well, happy and completely cared for. It is a weight from our shoulders- thank you.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.999)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.999) out of 10 for Grosvenor House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 117 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 117 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.999 for Grosvenor House is calculated as follows: ( (1399 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 1401 Ratings = 4.999
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Grosvenor House is based on 117 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 31 registered maximum number of service users is 6.2, which has been reached with 117 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
