I recently moved Mom into Heathbrook House from a previous care home, and I have been overwhelmed with the care & attention from everyone we have met so far. Her room is fantastic, so bright, and has a lovely view from the window onto part of the gardens, the whole home is clean and welcoming. I am
so much more confident that Mom will now get the care she deserves, and can already see how much calmer she is. Thank you everyone at Heathbrook House for restoring my faith in our care system.
Reply from Grace Langfield, Customer Service Adviser at Heathbrook House Care HomeThank you for your lovely review. We hope the staff at Heathbrook House Care Home did everything to make the transition as easy as possible for your family and Mum. We hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care and we will certainly pass your comments on to the manager.

Excellent facilities, an environment. All of the staff are friendly, caring and efficient at their job. Food looks superb, although my wife is on a pureed diet which is well prepared to the right consistency. Very happy that my loved one is in good hands.

I’ve been coming here for a while now to visit an old neighbour. She was very apprehensive when she first moved in but these past few months she is loving it. I believe we have new management and have noticed a big change in standards. I would definitely recommend this home in the future. I would like
to say well done to all the team. And a big thank you.

My dad has been in Heathbrook for 11 months and my mother spent 7 weeks in the home so she could spend time with dad. In between the time mom was in the home dad was taken into hospital dad was discharged on end of life.
My sister and I spent 10 days by dads bedside as the hospital said he only had
2 days to live, the staff were really kind and caring. Mom and dad had their 65th Anniversary in the home, the cook made some sandwiches and cakes and hot drink. The cook was so kind and made a cake, it was such a lovely afternoon for mom and dad was given some flowers of all the staff. We had lots of happy time and we had some sad one two due to dad’s heath.
The carers were so amazing. The nurse team were fantastic too. It was also that the manager come out of the office and do hands on too this is fantastic to see. I would like to thank everyone in Heathbrook House for everything there did for mom and dad.

My mother has always enjoyed staying at the home.
She joins in all the activities and especially enjoys the art/craft sessions and the entertainment.
Many of the staff are friendly and treat my mother well - calling her 'queen.' Some go above and beyond for the home giving their time and money for
the residents. I could not have found a better place for my mother to spend her days.

My sister was brought to Heathbrook House Care Home 14/4/23 she was in a very weak state having hardly eaten or drunk anything while elsewhere. She settled in quite well at Heathbrook House Care Home and she keeps telling us "They really look after us here and are so kind". the staff do try so hard
to get her to eat or drink something, mostly to no avail but I happened to be visiting on 31/5 when a nurse was feeding her porridge and she actually finished the dish full. then a cup of tea arrived, the nurse kept touching her lip with the cup and she finished the tea. we were all amazed. Never give up, just keep trying.

Cannot begin to describe how disappointed we were with Heathbrook House Care Home - on paper it had everything we were hoping for, for our mum's needs and when we viewed it we were over the moon. I'm just so happy that Mum only went in for respite - the staff that I saw were all lovely but there was
nowhere near enough - some days it was after lunch before Mum was even washed and dressed - and some items that we had taken in for Mum to use to make things easier, were lost.

Dad was given a really warm welcome from day one by the friendly staff at Heathbrook House Care Home. They have always gone over and above our expectations in terms of their care of Dad over a number of years. Dad felt his (often firm) opinions were listened to. We could see that he was treated with
respect and genuine kindness by staff past and present. He enjoyed choosing what he liked to eat and chatting to staff. Although he did not choose to take part, there were lovely activities with animal visitors, singing and themed days that many residents enjoyed.
The careful attention to our Dad's health needs and final wishes were exemplary. Our deepest gratitude goes out from our family to you all.

Dad has been here for several years and the care he has received has always been good. The care staff all know him and his likes/dislikes even though he is now at a stage of being non verbal.
The records are well maintained so even though we are unable to see him as often as we’d like (not local for
either son), there is an effective booking system.
Strict Covid restrictions are in place to protect both staff and residents.
In summary I believe his best interests are being met in what I can only imagine is challenging environment. His safety and well being and dignity are met.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.787)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.787) out of 10 for Heathbrook House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 24 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.787 for Heathbrook House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (221 Excellents x 5) + (53 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 277 Ratings = 4.787
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Heathbrook House Care Home is based on 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 45 registered maximum number of service users is 9, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

We are always available to meet with you, whether to discuss any concerns, answer questions, or hear your ideas. Supporting our residents and their families is at the heart of everything we do.

Job Title: Non Clinical Unit Manager Joined: 2021

My name is Abby, and I began my journey at Heathbrook House in 2021 after returning to work following the birth of my twin boys. I previously had a background in hospitality, but I was looking for a more fulfilling career, as leaving my boys was a significant and important decision for me.

I started as a Care Assistant, progressed to Senior Carer, and was later proud to be successful in securing the role of Non-Clinical Unit Manager. My role focuses strongly on the quality of care provided, from completing quality audits to carrying out care reviews. I am also passionate about supporting and developing the care team to ensure that our residents receive the highest standard of care every single day.

I believe in a whole-team approach to development and recognise the importance of listening, embracing new ideas, and putting them into practice. Celebrating successes and learning together is key to continuous improvement.

I am wholeheartedly committed to creating a vibrant and collaborative environment at Heathbrook House, and I truly enjoy the fact that every day brings something new.

Job Title: Financial Administrator Joined: 2023

My name is Nicola, and I am the Financial Administrator at Heathbrook House. I play a key role in supporting both residents and their relatives, and I am often the first point of contact when you get in touch with us. I take great pride in ensuring that every enquiry is handled smoothly and positively from the very beginning.

I have a strong background in accountancy; however, I was seeking a more fulfilling role that allowed me to work closely with people. After spending time delivering care in the community, I discovered a passion for combining my financial skills with meaningful interaction. This led me to my role here at Heathbrook House.

Over time, I have been fortunate to develop my position into much more than a traditional financial role. I truly value the relationships I build and love spending time with residents, staff, and family members. I am extremely proud to be part of the Heathbrook House family and to contribute to creating a warm, supportive environment for everyone.

I thoroughly enjoy my role, particularly the opportunity to meet and interact with new people. I am always keen to learn new skills and continue developing my existing ones. I am also actively involved in the recruitment and onboarding of new team members, which I find incredibly rewarding.

I joined Heathbrook House as an Assistant Chef in August 2024 and was delighted to quickly progress into the role of Chef Manager. Food has always been my passion, and I take great pride in creating delicious, nutritious meals each day that meet the needs of our residents.

Last year, I was shortlisted to take part in the Great Bupa Menu competition and reached the final stages. This was a fantastic opportunity to showcase my skills to a wider audience, and I was especially proud of how well my vegan menu was received.

Job Title: Senior Activities Joined: 2025

My name is Sophia, and I am the Senior Activities Coordinator at Heathbrook House. My team and I are committed to providing a wide range of activities that are adaptable to all abilities, ensuring equal access to meaningful engagement for every resident.

We take the time to get to know each individual, exploring their life history, personal preferences, and interests, as well as their likes and dislikes. This enables us to create personalised and meaningful experiences that truly enhance their well-being.

I have also played a significant role in enhancing the care home environment by creating purposeful and inviting spaces that offer alternatives to the traditional care home lounge. Residents can entertain visitors in our bistro-style conservatory or enjoy special moments with loved ones in our private dining room.

Additionally, we have an outdoor café that is particularly popular during the warmer, drier days. Our residents have recently been involved in creating a beautiful outdoor garden space. By tapping into their skills and experiences, this project has become a resounding success and a wonderful talking point within the home.

I facilitate a resident-led committee that plays a key role in shaping our activity programme. This ensures that the individuals living here are truly at the heart of everything we do, influencing both the activities we deliver and the overall experiences we provide.
