I have over 23 years’ experience in health and social care, having begun my career as a Care Assistant and progressing through to my first Home Manager role in 2013. Throughout this journey, I have developed a strong and unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality care.
My passion lies in ensuring that every interaction truly matters. I am dedicated to maintaining the highest standards, with a focus on person-centred care that values each individual. I understand that the transition into care can be challenging, and I strive to make this journey as smooth and supportive as possible—not only for residents but also for their families and loved ones.
At Heathbrook House, we take pride in seeing the person, not the condition. We are committed to creating a warm, supportive environment where residents feel valued, empowered, and able to embrace this stage as a new and meaningful chapter in their lives.
I have worked with Bupa for over 12 years and gain immense job satisfaction from making a positive difference to both the residents and the teams I support.
After serving in the Army for many years, I made the decision to pursue a new path and began my career in health and social care as a Carer. Since then, I have progressed to the role of Resident Experience Manager, and in 2023, I was proud to take on the position of Deputy Manager at Heathbrook House.
I am approachable and always happy to help, so please feel free to reach out with any questions about life at Heathbrook House or the care we provide. I would be delighted to support you in any way I can.
My name is Rachael, and I am the Clinical Lead at Heathbrook House. I began my nursing career after taking a weekend job in a nursing home, where I quickly realised my passion for helping people, particularly in supporting and caring for the elderly.
My journey with Heathbrook House began while covering shifts through an agency, and I was delighted to later join the team on a full-time basis. Since 2025, I have been proud to serve as Clinical Lead, a role that allows me to support both our residents and our dedicated team.
I am immensely proud of the commitment and hard work demonstrated by the team in delivering the best possible clinical outcomes for those in our care. We are an engaged and motivated team, always eager to learn and continually improve our practice.
We are always available to meet with you, whether to discuss any concerns, answer questions, or hear your ideas. Supporting our residents and their families is at the heart of everything we do.
My name is Abby, and I began my journey at Heathbrook House in 2021 after returning to work following the birth of my twin boys. I previously had a background in hospitality, but I was looking for a more fulfilling career, as leaving my boys was a significant and important decision for me.
I started as a Care Assistant, progressed to Senior Carer, and was later proud to be successful in securing the role of Non-Clinical Unit Manager. My role focuses strongly on the quality of care provided, from completing quality audits to carrying out care reviews. I am also passionate about supporting and developing the care team to ensure that our residents receive the highest standard of care every single day.
I believe in a whole-team approach to development and recognise the importance of listening, embracing new ideas, and putting them into practice. Celebrating successes and learning together is key to continuous improvement.
I am wholeheartedly committed to creating a vibrant and collaborative environment at Heathbrook House, and I truly enjoy the fact that every day brings something new.
My name is Nicola, and I am the Financial Administrator at Heathbrook House. I play a key role in supporting both residents and their relatives, and I am often the first point of contact when you get in touch with us. I take great pride in ensuring that every enquiry is handled smoothly and positively from the very beginning.
I have a strong background in accountancy; however, I was seeking a more fulfilling role that allowed me to work closely with people. After spending time delivering care in the community, I discovered a passion for combining my financial skills with meaningful interaction. This led me to my role here at Heathbrook House.
Over time, I have been fortunate to develop my position into much more than a traditional financial role. I truly value the relationships I build and love spending time with residents, staff, and family members. I am extremely proud to be part of the Heathbrook House family and to contribute to creating a warm, supportive environment for everyone.
My name is Donna, and I am the Receptionist here at Heathbrook House. I joined the team in 2016 following a recommendation from family, and it has been a wonderful place to work ever since.
My role involves maintaining the front of house, meeting and greeting all visitors, and acting as the first point of contact for enquiries. I take great pride in creating a warm and welcoming environment for everyone who walks through our doors.
I thoroughly enjoy my role, particularly the opportunity to meet and interact with new people. I am always keen to learn new skills and continue developing my existing ones. I am also actively involved in the recruitment and onboarding of new team members, which I find incredibly rewarding.
I pride myself on being adaptable, approachable, and always willing to help and support others in any way I can.
I joined Heathbrook House as an Assistant Chef in August 2024 and was delighted to quickly progress into the role of Chef Manager. Food has always been my passion, and I take great pride in creating delicious, nutritious meals each day that meet the needs of our residents.
Last year, I was shortlisted to take part in the Great Bupa Menu competition and reached the final stages. This was a fantastic opportunity to showcase my skills to a wider audience, and I was especially proud of how well my vegan menu was received.
I am committed and dedicated to achieving the best possible outcomes for our residents, with a particular strength in developing and delivering modified diets. I am always keen to try new ideas and continuously improve, and I greatly value feedback on the meals that my team and I provide.
My name is Sophia, and I am the Senior Activities Coordinator at Heathbrook House. My team and I are committed to providing a wide range of activities that are adaptable to all abilities, ensuring equal access to meaningful engagement for every resident.
We take the time to get to know each individual, exploring their life history, personal preferences, and interests, as well as their likes and dislikes. This enables us to create personalised and meaningful experiences that truly enhance their well-being.
I have also played a significant role in enhancing the care home environment by creating purposeful and inviting spaces that offer alternatives to the traditional care home lounge. Residents can entertain visitors in our bistro-style conservatory or enjoy special moments with loved ones in our private dining room.
Additionally, we have an outdoor café that is particularly popular during the warmer, drier days. Our residents have recently been involved in creating a beautiful outdoor garden space. By tapping into their skills and experiences, this project has become a resounding success and a wonderful talking point within the home.
I facilitate a resident-led committee that plays a key role in shaping our activity programme. This ensures that the individuals living here are truly at the heart of everything we do, influencing both the activities we deliver and the overall experiences we provide.
