From the moment I contacted the home, everything moved quickly and smoothly.
I remember it being such a relief to see Michelle at Allen's home that afternoon.
We took great comfort that Allen was being cared for by such lovely people, who had the knowledge to care for his needs.
He needed to gain weight and a plan was put in place quickly to ensure this.
He loved the food and even discovered a likeness for gravy !
We cannot praise The Lawns enough.
The layout is good very easy for residents to navigate. Plenty of communal spaces for family and friends to gather.
Residents rooms are spacious with ensuites.
Special shout out to all the carers that made Allen's last few weeks comfortable a big Thank you.

Thank you very much for you comprehensive reivew - i will pass on these to the team who i know will appreicate their care and attention has been recognised by you all. Melanie
My father went in to The Lawns in May last year. He was welcomed the minute we walked through the door. The staff were very attentive and settled him in his room. He seemed very happy being there. I did visit him quite often and was welcomed by management and staff. Always a smiling face on reception when I arrived and they were very helpful in helping me with queries. He was in there for over twelve months and was looked after well from beginning to end. The staff always rang me if there was a problem or queiry. I'd certainly recommend the home to anyone.
Thank you for your lovely review The Lawns is a sadder place without your Dad as he was such a wonderful gentleman to care for, thankyou for allowing us to be his care solution Melanie
My mother recently joined The Lawns after a urinary tract infection made her unwell. She was so well cared for she has decided to stay. The staff are amazing. So professional and helpful to worried family but kind, caring and empathetic to my beloved mum. The rooms are clean. The staff are exemplary. They listen and respond to requests. My registered blind and almost deaf mother loves it there.

Mum in law has dementia and is no longer able to cope on her own, she lives with my husband and it was her first time in a care home setting. I was a little apprehensive as to how she would settle in for 4 week respite care, but I need not have worried, the staff are all so friendly and supportive. We were made to feel welcome when we visited and from the moment you walk in the door, their is a very homely feeling. Thank you for looking after mum.
Thankyou for your review, we are pleased this first taste of care home care was so positive and we look forward to seeing you all again. Melanie
Dad was no longer able to live alone being diagnosed with advanced Vascular Dementia. We chose the Lawns as a nursing home having visited without notice and met management and nursing staff, getting a good feeling. Lawns were wonderful in making Dad's discharge from hospital at short notice trouble free, causing him as little stress as possible. Dad arrived at Lawns underweight and frail, with little interest in his surroundings and in engaging with others. He settled in quickly, gained weight and was gently integrated into life at Lawns. He needed nudging to join into activities, which with the sympathetic way his carers and activity staff acted began to happen, they got his sense of humour and he increasingly became his old self. We continued to visit Dad at Lawns without notice and consistently found him being looked after with compassion and genuine interest by the same cohort of carers month in and month out. Lawns End of Life care for Dad was faultless. Thank you.
Melanie
Thank you all for the wonderful compassionate care that you showed my father in his final two weeks with you. We were so lucky to have you manage his end of life care.
You were all so incredibly kind and caring and I reference you fondly in the eulogy that I am writing.
Many staff had a special touch with dad - being incredibly kind and you certainly helped him to settle in.
We are eternally grateful that we were lucky enough to have you care for our dad when he most needed it. Thank you again so much!
Melanie
In June 2025 my mother was Transferred to The Lawns after being in Hospital having had an earlier fall.
The care given to my mother compared to her stay in Hospital was Chalk and Cheese, The Lawns staff looked after my mother with kindness, consideration, dedication and some times humour when it was appropriate.
The Lawns Manager went to the Hospital to arrange Mums transfer and to settle her into the Lawns, we are extremely grateful to her for helping us in getting to the best place for Mums onward care.
I visited most days to see Mum and met most of the staff who were really friendly and helpful in settling her into the home and becoming her friends certainly helped make her days more enjoyable.
I cannot sing the praises of the Management or Staff loud enough, they provided excellent service and companionship with a friendly and caring attitude.
I will pass these complimentary words to the team. Melanie
Mom went in to the Lawns Nursing Home at the end of November 2025, since being there she has put on weight and has made such good progress, I cannot fault the home or the staff at all, it is a wonderful happy place and feel so lucky that mom got a place there. It's the best decision that we could have made.
Thanks you for allowing us to be your mums care solution it is lovely to have her as part of our family here Mel
Thank you.
It was a pleasure to offer the care solution to get Dad close by so that you could all spend that quality time with him thank you for your comprehensive review Mel
Mum moved into the lawns in February from another care home where we had a bad experience. Mel was great in helping us move mum and as soon as we arrived I just knew things would be good and they were. The staff are so caring and get to know each resident so well knowing their likes and dislikes and ways to support them emotionally. Mum had limited mobility but was still included in everything they did. There are so many activities going on and Kirsty always cheered everyone up. The personal care was always provided as and when it should be. The nurses were always there when we wanted to discuss anything. Everyone was so kind the cleaners the handy man the reception absolutely everyone. At the end of mums journey every one was there and nothing was too much trouble and my mum and our family were supported so well. I am forever grateful to all of you for providing a loving home for my mum and giving us the opportunity to make some great memories in the time she was with you. Thank you.
Thanks very much for this lovely and comprehensive review of our service, your mum has been missed greatly by us all. I will pass these comments onto the team Mel
My mum was at the The Lawns Nursing Home from October 2025 after a long stay in hospital. Straight away she was treated with respect and given back her dignity. She was well cared for, kept clean and tidy. Had her hair done and nails painted, which she enjoyed. She sat at the table for meals with friends she made and enjoyed the conversation over a glass of wine. The staff were wonderful, nothing to much trouble, made her laugh again. All this made my Mum short stay pleasurable.
Thank you for your review, the positive comments are appreciated and i will pass these on to the team Melanie
We were very happy with The Lawns. The staff are all lovely. They made mum feel welcome and helped her to settle in. The staff ensure that the care each resident receives is personalised to their needs and they are super patient whilst doing this. There was always something going on and it was mum's choice to join in or not. She enjoyed the food and thought the "house" was beautiful. We were never concerned for her safety or wellbeing which was a huge relief after she'd been struggling- but determined -to stay in her own home. Her room was nice and she enjoyed having assisted showers (something she refused at home!) and she even had her hair done. Personally, I enjoyed chatting with other residents and staff and always felt welcome when I arrived to visit.
Thank you for your lovely review, it was a pleasure for us to be the care solution for your mum, the team work hard to make a difference and it is so gratifying to see this recognised, i will pass your comments on. Melanie
I wish to thank all the staff at the Lawns who were superb in looking after the welfare of my father for the past two and half years. My father was extremely grateful and I cannot praise the staff enough. My father got to know them so well and he so much enjoyed their company. We will always be grateful to Mel and her team for looking after Phillip and making his life more enjoyable.
Mel
From the initial enquiry as to a vacancy for end of life care for mum, giving advice and guidance how to achieve the care, to in fact mum being made to feel comfy and welcome all of this only taking a few days. The staff were attentive to both mums needs and meeting expectations of the family, they quickly became familiar with her needs that were ever changing. The staff kept family up to date as care changed. Thank you for making mums final days as comfortable as possible.
Thankyou for entrusting our team with your mums care and we are so pleased that you were all supported and comfortable. Melanie
The Lawns Nursing Home is perfect for my Mother. She's has moved from her home in Birmingham and the transition has been made very easy, helped by the brilliant Manager and Staff. She has settled and is happy in her new environment, chatting with the Carers who look after amazing well.
The Manager has been a massive support to me at this difficult time and for that I will be eternally grateful.
Thanks very much for your lovely review we are so pleased you and your mum are enjoying our care. Melanie
We were fortunate enough to get our Dad a place at the Lawns for some much needed Respite care, this was all done with little notice for all involved. The Team at the Lawns made it happen and the staff were very warm & welcoming. They had an efficient caring and nursing team whom Dad grew very fond of, we felt he was well looked after and incredibly safe in their care during this time. As family members, we were fully encouraged to be involved and informed in all decisions and we were also well looked after during dad's stay. There is a very happy content buzz about this nursing home from both residents and staff.
Thankyou for such a lovely review I will make sure the team hear your kind words. It was a pleasure to be the solution for care Mel
The respect, compassion and nursing care was outstanding and meant that we were able to spend valuable time with her during the last few months of her life.
In particular I would like to mention Issy, Becka and Shelley who were able to communicate with her in a way that we weren't. The way they looked after her, did her hair and sang to her during her showers was a great comfort to me and her two children.
I will always be grateful to Mel and her team for the care provided.
Many thanks for your review it is a pleasure to be the care solution and i will be pass your comments onto the team Mel
I can't thank Melanie, the manager enough for accommodating both our parents at such short notice and supporting us through the emotional process of transitioning from home to Nursing home, including the CHC assessment.
She is truly amazing!
My Father is frail and has many medical, nursing and care needs. The nurses and carers are excellent.
He receives monitored and reviewed individualised care, concerns are addressed and we are kept informed.
His room is light, comfortable ,clean and tidy with ample space for cherished possessions and there's always a friendly and willing person on hand with the offer of support and refreshments when needed.
Thank you all so much
Many thanks for this lovely review, i will ensure that the whole team receive your kind words. It is a pleasure to be the care solution that has made a difference to your parents. Melanie
The nursing staff, were very informative and supportive, especially during the last few days.
Everywhere was very clean, and always lots of activities going on each day
Thankyou so much for allowing us to be the care solution and i will pass these lovely comments onto the team Melanie
When my husband first went into The Lawns, the staff were very keen to know as much information about him as possible, to allow them to engage and offer him appropriate activities where possible, and this proved very useful as time went on.
The staff were always very pleasant, cheerful and professional. It was apparent that the care they gave was more than the basic 'meeting the needs'. They always showed respect, dignity and great understanding to my husband, and in the final few days, they helped the whole family understand and come to terms with the situation.
Many thanks for your review and for allowing us to be the care solution for your husband.
