I undertook my nurse training in Zimbabwe and qualified as a registered nurse in 2007. I joined Barchester Healthcare as an overseas nurse in August 2016.
Through dedication and commitment to excellence, I developed through various leadership roles leading up to my current position.
My role as the general manager at Otley House is overseeing daily operations, ensuring high standards of care, and maintaining regulatory compliance. My approach is centred on creating a nurturing environment where residents feel safe, valued and well cared for. My leadership is characterised by my ability to inspire the team fostering a culture of empathy, respect, and continuous improvement.

I started at Ottley House in 2002 as a carer. I then gained my care practitioner certificate in 2016. I am a passionate and motivated care practitioner who strives for the best, as I feel that everyone we offer support to deserves the best. I was recently promoted to Deputy General Manager.
I started working at Ottley House in 2012 as a senior carer. Unfortunately due to an injury, I was no longer able to carry out this role. I really enjoyed working at Ottley House so when the position of Admin Assistant came up in 2014, I applied and was lucky enough to be offered the role. I am here at reception to greet all our visitors with a warm and friendly welcome. I also assist the home administrator in the financial department. I have just completed my NVQ level 2 in Business and Administration.
I joined Ottley House just a couple of months ago. i have a vast background in building and maintenance work .
Hi I am Gill and I started working for Barchester in 2015. I started as a care assistant and am now a senior care assistant. As part of my role I am here to mentor new staff as they start their journey at Ottley House, making sure that we provide the very best care for each resident, ensuring they are treated with dignity and respect.
I joined Ottley House in October 2015 as a carer on the Ann Carter unit, I was then promoted to senior care assistant in June 2019. In my role I am responsible for inducting new staff members, to mentor them in providing high quality care. I recently completed my NVQ 2 which I passed with distinction, I hope to progress to the next level soon.
I first worked here at Ottley House as a carer when I was a student nurse. I qualified as a nurse in 2009. I re-joined the team at Ottley as a qualified nurse in December 2018.
I came to England from Romania in 2017 with my wife, who is also a registered nurse here at Ottley House. We started as senior care assistants until our PIN came through a few months later. Making sure the residents receive excellent care is what I'm here for - it's all about them!
A friend asked me if i was interested in working a few hours here and there at Ottley House to help in the housekeeping department, that was in 2016 and i have never looked back. i am proud at how our team keeps the house clean and tidy, chatting to the residents as i go.
I joined the "Ottley family" in 2013 as a care assistant. I had never done care work before but after looking after my nan for a few years, I knew I wanted to make a career out of it. Providing excellent care is my top priority.
I have worked at Ottley House ever since I left school 16 years ago. My previous roles in the home have included care, cleaning and in the kitchen, My role now is laundry assistant. I am hard working and get along with everyone.
