My 93-year-old mother moved into Mount House following a life-changing accident, which left her blind and after six weeks in hospital. I have the highest praise for the staff of Mount House for the way they help mum, encouraging her to regain as much independence as her disability allows, and ensuring she takes an active part in activities. The staff has also made family and friends very welcome and any queries have been quickly answered and resolved. In the 3 months Mum has been resident, she has changed from a frightened and confused old lady to someone who is enjoying life again.
It is very nice to hear how your loved one has been in good hands and that we made a positive difference.
Thank you again for your feedback and your lovely words.
As a family, we will always cherish the love they showed all of us at a difficult time. Thank you to everyone on The Mount House team.
Thank you for your review.
We wish you the best with the new steps in your life."Mum" was cherished by the staff members, and we are still discussing fondly about her and you.
Please feel free to visit us at any time. I know that everybody will be pleased to see you.
Thank you for your kind words!
Mount House has great service, very friendly staff members, and is a well-run place. I would highly recommend. Also, have some amazing activities for residents. And never too busy to help you when you are there. Great home!
Thank you for your very wonderful review. It is lovely to hear you find the team members at Mount House friendly and offer great service to your friend and other residents. Your feedback on our activities is also great to hear. We do welcome our resident's visitors. It is so important for their...
The home itself is furnished to a high standard and kept spotlessly clean and tidy. Equipment is up to date and appropriate for the intended purpose.
Although now living with a different set of challenges, Dad has been helped by all within the home to adapt to these new challenges and his new surroundings quickly becoming quite settled and content. Whenever there is a need, the team are quick to act and are great at keeping us in the loop with any ongoing concerns.
Overall a big 10/10 from us!
Thank you for your very kind and honest review. I will share your feedback with the team who care for your dad. We are happy to see your dad settled and content in the home, I know it was a very stressful time for you when you were deciding where would best suit his needs and I am so pleased you chose Mount House & Severn View.
I stayed 2 weeks respite care. I was under a pain control program which did not happen for my first 3 days, on the Sunday evening I made a verbal complaint, from that point everything became ordered and my pain management was given as and when required. My surroundings were pleasant and of a good standard. Overall I felt The Mount had become forgotten over the last few years and quite shabby in certain areas. The majority of caring staff gave their absolute all and more beyond their job requirements. When there was few staff it was noticeable immediately. In my view The Mount was obviously a poor relation when money was concerned. Barchester needs to apply more money to its older homes instead of favouring the new. I feel Barchester Group are failing The Mount at Shrewsbury and their loyal staff.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review and for your kind words about the staff we have at Mount House, it’s so important to our staff and will mean so much to the team that the care and services they provide are acknowledged as going above and beyond. I understand there were some concerns...
The care, warmth and friendship during my stay were outstanding and I really enjoyed it here.
Thank you so much for your very kind review. It was our absolute pleasure to be able to support you during your stay. Please keep in touch - we love to hear from you.
My Mum has just spent two weeks at Mount House for respite care. During that time she has been looked after exceptionally well. All the staff are friendly and professional and work extremely hard. Thank you to everyone for all you have done, it's really appreciated.
Thank you for your very kind review. It was a pleasure to be able to support your mum and I will share your feedback with the team.
Mum is extremely well looked after and all her needs are fully catered for and she is very happy here.
Thank you very much for your kind review. It is a pleasure to be able to support your mum.
I cannot speak highly enough of all the staff at The Mount House. Working under these present conditions has never removed the smile from all their faces. Thank you for all you do - well done keep the good work up.
Thank you so much for your kind review. I will share your feedback with the team.
I feel very comfortable knowing mum is being cared for with sincerity and respect. All her requests are met. The carers are angels in my mind. Moving mum from her home of 43 years to The Mount House was a major upheaval. But she settled in with the care and time of all the staff at The Mount.
Thank you for your kind words. It is a pleasure to care for your mum.
Staff very good and kind, and good to have a chat with.
Thank you for your kind words. It is a pleasure to care for your mum.
Although I sincerely hope I will not need to use elderly care home facilities I do appreciate that there is a need for many people. My overriding impression of this home is the friendliness of the staff. There is always a smile and cheery word. They have been so happy to take the phone through to my friend during the last year- it is never too much trouble. They appear to genuinely care about the welfare and well being of the residents.
Many thanks for your kind review. I'm so pleased that you feel the staff are friendly and helpful and will cascade your feedback.
Keep up the good work.
Thank you for your kind honest review. It’s our pleasure to support your mum.
I have had the opportunity to visit this home recently, and it really is lovely. The residents appear to be happy, content and well looked after by the staff. If I was looking for a care home for a relative, Mount House would be my choice, the manager is really responsive and I have confidence in the home.
Thank you for your very kind review; it's lovely to know we would be your care home of choice in the future.
Staff at the the care home are always friendly warm and welcoming. I have had some lovely garden visits recently and the staff could not be any more helpful. Thank you for all that you do especially during such a difficult time. I know that my aunt is well looked after and she always seems happy and content in her ‘home’ it definitely puts my mind at ease knowing that she’s happy and safe.
Friendly and a nice place to meet.
Thank you, for taking the time to complete a care home review. We really appreciate your positive and kind comments. Thank you for your continued support.
Dementia means she has not always been the easiest of residents and we have had ups and downs with her health.
The staff have always been courteous, kind and patient with her.
During the current pandemic I had feared for the worst, but the home went into lockdown early. The staff have obviously been vigilant with their infection control measures. We have been kept informed at every point: lockdown, health, testing and finally garden visits.
My sister and I had a lovely visit on Sunday, on a sunny, if a little blustery, day.
Well done to all at The Mount and Barchester who have kept us informed and updated by text and the website, and appear to have been ahead of the game!
Thank you Karen for taking the time to complete a care home review. We really appreciate your positive and kind comments. Thank you for your continued support.
Very difficult to give a constructive review as Home was locked down very soon after my mum’s admittance.
Dear Brian, thank you for your review. We appreciate your feedback and comments and would love to have a chat with you regarding the above. Please do not hesitate to contact me on 01743232228 to discuss further.
My nan came to The Mount during Covid lockdown, straight from hospital following surgery for a broken hip and suffering from what turned out to be quite severe dementia. We were grateful that The Mount could take her during such difficult times. However, nan thought she could go home but as she was totally bed bound and very vulnerable it was an impossibility. She was frustrated and confused and wasn't the easiest resident to care for as she seemed unaware of her own limitations, however, the staff persevered and their kindness and professionalism has won her over and she is now settled and happy. Poor nan has had such a tough time as she was unable to have any visitors in hospital and then had to be isolated in the home for 2 weeks. The home allowed us to speak to her on the phone and soon as we were able to socially distance visit her we went and that was lovely. I'm looking forward to the Covid restrictions being lifted so we can see her regularly.
Thank you Andrea for taking the time to complete a care home review. We really appreciate your positive and kind comments. Thank you for your support.
The pandemic has brought challenges to the care sector they should be congratulated on taking the role of residents family, carer and friend as without them I dread to think what would have happened.
Carry on what you are doing your Keeping everyone safe and happy which I appreciate.
Thank you so much Janet for such a lovely review and for taking the time to complete this. We really appreciate your positive and kind comments. Thank you for supporting our home continuously.
