My husband has been in Abbey Court since 1-6-21. I am generally very happy with his care. The staff are kind to him and other residents, always ready to listen if I have any concerns and supportive if I am upset. He is nearly always well dressed, his bed has clean sheets, he is assisted with all food/drink
with patience.
On the negative side, the rooms are plain and frequently need sweeping. A treats trolley is brought around sometimes but my husband is on soft foods and was told there was nothing suitable for him. Apart from a singer and an exercise man, upstairs residents have no activities and do not get taken out on day trips. If I and family and friends did not take him out he would only have been out of the home once for a barbecue. My husband cannot participate in many activities now but there are many residents upstairs who would and all would benefit from a little fresh air. The TV channel, dedicated to Dementia patients would be better than the TV provided.

Thank you for your comments which we take very seriously. Your husband's room has been personalised by yourself, which is full of memorabilia for him. The bedrooms are cleaned daily.
Some of the residents on the memory floor have recently been on outside excursions and as previously discussed, the well-being team would love for you to join them on their trips out.

Care staff are especially caring and attentive, they support my mother-in-law to improve her diet and encourage her to be as independent as possible whilst knowing her limitations. They are knowledgeable and experienced. We have been impressed with the improvement in her condition since she arrived

The care given to my mom has been excellent. They have supplied a special diet and now mom no longer has problems that have existed for over 2 years. The carers are kind and attentive at all times and nothing seems too much trouble.

My Mom has been at Abbey Court for three months and has settled in well. On the whole, we are pleased with the care provided and the facilities at the home. Staff are friendly and caring towards the residents. The receptionist is extremely helpful and supportive, nothing is too much trouble.

Always excellent care. Residents always clean and well looked after. Rooms are clean and tidy. All staff are really pleasant and very respectful. Nothing is too much trouble. The food also, is very good. Cannot fault, Abbey Court.

Generally happy with care and staff.
Recently more noticeable levels of staff reduced, especially at weekends and high turn over, often new faces. In the past, regular staff and easier to build a rapport.

The support on settling in was non-existent. Any issues raised were not handled well by the manager - it was serious issues. I visit several times a week. The receptionist is really good. There are hardly any activities, not sure what the person whose job this is does. The care staff are really good
and make the difference.

My mom has been in Abbey Court now for over 3 years. I can honestly say that in all that time, I have no complaints about anything. As Mom sadly declines she is constantly reviewed and her care plan is adjusted accordingly. All the staff from the manager to the cleaners are second to none. It was the
worst time of my life having to put mom into care but I have total peace of mind knowing she is being cared for so well. Thank you everyone at Abbey Court.

The standard of food is inconsistent and often lukewarm.
A 'hot trolly' would be a good investment.
Portions of food inconsistent, some dessert servings barely a mouthful.
Employing 'care workers' who cannot or will not speak English while performing their duties is unprofessional and can be intimidating,
especially when the care is of an intimate nature.

My mom has been a resident since August 2020. Everyone at Abbey Court has been so helpful at all times and cared for Mom well. When covid was a problem I phoned every day to see how Mom was and was given good information at all times.

Dad came into Abbey Court in June 2021. During his time here he's had several things occur with stroke - hospital visits, etc. But over this time Dad has started to need more care. The staff have been very helpful with all the care he has needed and will be putting future care in place as it will be
needed. By getting to know the staff by name I feel this can be helpful for a person with dementia. As a family, we are very grateful.

It's been very hard times for everyone, especially for the staff but everything has been marvellous. I know my mother was safe. Everyone has been understanding.

My husband came to the home on the 7th of June 2021. He passed peacefully away on Monday 9th May. He was cared for in a loving way and settled in well. I cannot praise the staff and quality of care enough. The kindness and compassion showed to my husband, myself, and the family at this sad time is to
be commended. I would be happy that if it was needed I should have to consider any care for myself in the future, to accept the care and hospitality provided, and would recommend Abbey Court to anyone. Thanking you once again for helping my husband to be part of your family.
