Dad came into Abbey Court in June 2021. During his time here he's had several things occur with stroke - hospital visits, etc. But over this time Dad has started to need more care. The staff have been very helpful with all the care he has needed and will be putting future care in place as it will be
needed. By getting to know the staff by name I feel this can be helpful for a person with dementia. As a family, we are very grateful.

My husband came to the home on the 7th of June 2021. He passed peacefully away on Monday 9th May. He was cared for in a loving way and settled in well. I cannot praise the staff and quality of care enough. The kindness and compassion showed to my husband, myself, and the family at this sad time is to
be commended. I would be happy that if it was needed I should have to consider any care for myself in the future, to accept the care and hospitality provided, and would recommend Abbey Court to anyone. Thanking you once again for helping my husband to be part of your family.

Mother's care has been wonderful. The staff are always helpful and friendly. Mum's general health and welfare have been much improved since she entered Abbey Court in April last year. Her room is always fresh and tidy. I am kept up to date about her welfare. Very pleased that I chose Abbey Court for
my mother's elderly care. I feel confident about my mother's last years staying here. Thank you to each and every one.

In our experience, any queries concerning our mother have been dealt with promptly and any issues with our mother's health have also been dealt with efficiently. The carers are fond of mum so we feel secure in the knowledge she is well looked after.

A good home. My mom is looked after really well. She is always happy and dressed to a certain standard. The rooms are very nice and the home is well looked after. Looking forward to getting back in the home and being with mom on a regular basis, I have missed her so, so much. The entertainment ladies
have worked hard through covid to provide our visits.

As a resident recovering from surgery, the staff here have looked after me very well. All dietary/medical conditions are maintained (despite what I may ask for). Any complaints/issues are quickly dealt with/resolved. Requests are dealt with, and if they are not able to be accommodated, reasons why are
explained.

The staff are always friendly and helpful. My mother is well cared for. We were promised a garden building for visits but although it has been in place for weeks, there is a delay in using it due to heating not working. This means the rest of my mum's family can't visit her and coupled with her dementia
she can't remember them.

Mum moved to Abbey Court in March 2021, the staff at the care home made the transition very smooth for mum. All my enquiries were met with care and attention to detail. The staff made themselves available to me at short notice. Within the boundaries of the Covid pandemic, I am delighted with all aspects
of Abbey Court's assistance. Home rules were explained to me, I was soon able to fit in with the restrictions imposed to keep all the people safe within the home. I have only been able to view mum's room via the window, but I can see she has all her personal things around her, pictures etc. The home even came and picked up mum's favourite chair. The few months mum has been here she seems to have been aided to settle in very well, mum seems happy with the service and care she is receiving, as am I. Everywhere I have access to has been clean. I believe that under normal circumstances they have a good programme of activities.
Reply from Ryan Farrelly, Marketing Assistant at Abbey Court Care Home - Avery HealthcareThank you for taking the time to review Abbey Court Care Home. We are delighted to hear how well your mother has settled into her new home and it is a pleasure to have her here as part of our loving care community. Now that the Government restrictions are beginning to ease, we look forward to welcoming you into our home for more safe regular visits and can't wait to show you all our facilities that residents are encouraged to take advantage of each day. Current Review Score: 8.1 (8.133)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.1 (8.133) out of 10 for Abbey Court Care Home - Avery Healthcare is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 3.7 out of 5 from 14 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 10 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 3.725 for Abbey Court Care Home - Avery Healthcare is calculated as follows: ( (93 Excellents x 5) + (23 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) + (43 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 167 Ratings = 3.725
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.408 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Abbey Court Care Home - Avery Healthcare is based on 10 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.75
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 76 registered maximum number of service users is 15.2. 10 Positive Reviews ÷ 15.2 = 0.658
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
