My mother spent 3 weeks in respite at Hildersotne Hall and I cannot fault it. The staff were excellent, care first class, food good and plentiful, ambience great.
Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. Thank you also for your positive comments regarding our home and team who work hard to deliver high standards of quality care at all times. We are so pleased that your Mother enjoyed her stay...
The staff are very friendly and welcoming and clearly look after the residents attentively.
The home is very nice, clean and tidy with adequate facilities.
Thank you for this positive review of the team here at Hilderstone Hall. Your comments mean so much. Thank you again on behalf of the team.
Our Dad was treated with respect and dignity. All the staff became like family and nothing was too much trouble. They all deserve a huge thank you for making his last few months a lovely memory.
We too have some lovely memories of the times shared with your father. Thank you again on behalf of my staff. Take care, please keep in touch.
We are able to have a cake with our coffee and we can have this whenever we visit.
Thank you for this review. I will feedback to the staff your appreciation of the care they deliver. So pleased you enjoy our selection of homemade cakes which are always available to residents, relatives and visitors at our cafeteria area.
I was extremely pleased with the treatment and environment experienced at Hilderstone Hall.
Thank you for this review and that you were so pleased with your time here at Hilderstone Hall. Hoping to see you both soon.
I am a fairly newcomer to Hilderstone Hall but to date have found nothing but help, compassion and understanding and I am sure this last chapter of my life will be happy and contented. Each and every one of the staff treat me with the politeness and patience.
Thank you very much for a lovely review, so pleased that you are enjoying the lifestyle here at Hilderstone Hall. Many thanks.
Moving to the care home in November 2018 was quite traumatic for Mom as she was transferred from the hospital due to her health deteriorating, so she could not return home. Only the wonderful care, support and kindness shown by the team ensured that she settled into her new home. Whenever I visit I see a team dedicated to the care and comfort of the elderly. There is a lovely homely feel to Hilderstone Hall but also it feels "alive". I would wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful home.
Thank you so much for your comments and thanks. We are very pleased that your Mom has settled and enjoys living at Hilderstone Hall . Your comments are very much appreciated, Thank you again on behalf of the team at Hilderstone Hall.
Dad really engaged with the act and I feel like it has done wonders for his mental health. Get him back.
Thank you for your response. The Elvis Tribute act was enjoyed by all our residents and visitors on our Open Day 6th July. Our new Activities Team are planning and booking more activities and acts over the coming months for our residents to enjoy. Elvis will be back.
Minor problems in bedroom/bathroom dealt with rapidly and efficiently by management. More staff needed to cope with incessant demands on their services, especially at mealtimes. One carer cannot deal with 16 people in the restaurant, including those with dementia who may require assistance.
All in all a very useful experience as a first-time resident.
Thank you for your review regarding your first stay with us. Your positive comments regarding the staff are very much appreciated. We have actively recruited staff so that the issue identified at mealtimes has now been addressed. We look forward to you returning for a second stay.
Very pleased with the care home, especially cleanliness (no smells). As my husband has dementia I am unable to say what activities he enjoyed. Appreciated the care and understanding shown to him as his behaviour can be challenging.
Thank you so much for your feedback, we're glad your husband enjoyed his stay at the hall. I will be sure to tell the staff about your positive comments.
My mother's stay at Hilderstone Hall while we were on holiday, provided us with confidence that she would be well cared for while we were away. The staff provided excellent care and we have already booked a further stay for later in the year.
I'm so glad your mum enjoyed her stay here with us at the hall and we look forward to seeing her again soon.
Since my Father in Law has been at Hilderstone, he has got his sparkle back! This is mostly due to the fantastic care team. I would like to specifically mention the care assistant, she is wonderful. Thank you so much!
Thanks for your comments, we're so glad you feel he is back to his usual self, we do like success stories!
It was the reason for my decision to move in.
Everyone is friendly and helpful. No complaints from me. I tell everyone I know, what a great place this is!
Thanks for your comments Richard, I'll ensure to tell staff of your kind words
Impressed with the consistent high standard of food, not only to the variety of choice but opportunity given to provide requested alternatives that are offered. Carers are well aware of my fables and adapted accordingly, so now anticipate my needs. This has resulted in progress made in terms of efficiency, comfort, safety and dignity and the majority share a keen sense of humour with me. Buzzers answered promptly and explanations given if something is tardy. Compromise works wonders. Staff worked well as a team relating to difficulties over transport to the dentist. Feel much happier now and welcome the encouragement given to engage in the vast variety of activities. I enjoy socialising with many other residents. All friends and relatives are impressed with my new environment, as I am.
I've been visiting Hilderstone Hall over the past 5-6 years visiting many of friends that live within. It has many friendly and welcoming staff who are always happy to help with a smile.
Thank you for your review, I'm sure the staff will be pleased to hear that they're doing a great job.
The staff show compassion and have always dealt with Mum appropriately - with fun and humour if this was needed.
I am always made to feel welcome at the home.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this for our home.
The downside was that my wife did not get as many showers as at our home and sadly, a number of items disappeared - two new bras, a pair of pants and a new facecloth. Disappointing, but overall we would use and recommend Hilderstone Hall.
Thank you for review. These are very helpful for the staff and for prospective residents.
My husband had Alzheimer's for 4 or 5 years. I looked after him at home during this time with help from a sitter who was a good friend to him and stayed for 2 hours most weekdays during the last 2 years so that I could have some time to go out etc. Family support from my son and daughter was excellent. However, after a fall at home, he hurt his back no bones broken just bruising and it was no longer possible for me to help him when I was on my own. He was admitted to Hilderstone Hall "memory lane" where he received excellent care he settled down well and we were looking forward to seeing him back to his normal "happy self". However medical problems intervened he was transferred to hospital with kidney failure and died a few days later.
Thank you for your kind review. We were hoping to be able to care for him for a long time too, we are really pleased that you still come to visit us at Hilderstone on occasions. You will always be welcome.
The room was really nice and comfortable. The food was really good - they gave Mum small portions so as not to over face her. Staff were brilliant, always popping in to make sure Mum was OK.
I would highly recommend this home, nothing was any trouble day or night, must be the best care home in the county.
Thank you so much for your lovely kind words about Hilderstone Hall and the staff.
Caring and friendly staff.
Medication handled well and extra ordered when unexpectedly had to prolong stay.
My husband has no fears or worries of going to stay again.
Thank you for your kind review.

Meet the Team (7)

Hello, I'm Charlotte, the Acting General Manager at Hilderstone Hall.
I joined the home in early 2024, initially as a Bank Nurse before progressing into the post of Deputy Manager and now acting General Manager. I had previously visited Hilderstone Hall when working for the NHS as a Community Nurse and Practice Nurse, and I was delighted to have the opportunity to work here. The home is stunning. I was drawn to the beautiful countryside setting, and the residents and staff here are remarkable.
I am a Registered General Nurse and have additional qualifications alongside my nursing degree in disease management, specialising in diabetes and respiratory conditions. I am passionate about encouraging and promoting high standards for the delivery of person-centred, holistic care.
Outside of work, I am kept busy with my family, my two pooches, and I am a lover of holidays – I always make sure the next one is in the planning!
I look forward to welcoming you and your family to Hilderstone. The team and I are always here to help.

Hello, my name is Carrie, I have been in the care sector as a Home Administrator since 2006.
I joined Hilderstone Hall in April 2023, with a wealth of experience in administration roles including completing a NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration.
My duties are the day-to-day running of the home, payroll, invoicing and contracts. I enjoy meeting and greeting relatives, residents and professionals, making time for everyone as I have an open-door policy.
The staff at Hilderstone Hall are all very welcoming and strive to give the best possible care which I am very proud to be a part of.

Hi, my name is Tania Lane, I joined Barchester in 2016. I started as a housekeeper and worked my way up to the position of Head Housekeeper. I take great pride in my work, I am so happy when residents really like how their rooms look and feel. I also love to talk to the residents while I’m cleaning their rooms. I aim to help residents remain as independent as possible. I also especially enjoy facilitating new families and future residents' show-around so that they can experience the home before moving in.

Hi, my name is Lyle and I joined the team at Hilderstone Hall in 2022 as Head of Maintenance.
Most of all I love the interaction and variety my role provides and I feel privileged to be able to make a difference in people’s lives by ensuring their home is maintained and presented to a high standard. Before joining the Hilderstone team, I worked in the theatre world.

Hi, my name is Cheznath and I am a Registered Nurse here at Hilderstone Hall.

Hi, my name is Brenda. I have worked at Hilderstone Hall for 2 and a half years on memory lane. I have worked in the care industry for 30 years in a range of different sectors. My hobbies include gardening, which I encourage the residents every year to plant seeds and grow veg. I also enjoy sewing, making bags, and aprons and attending local craft fairs. I have 3 grown-up children and many grandchildren.

Hi, my name is Joanne and I joined the home in 2014. Within my role as a Hospitality Host, I strive to create a stimulating environment for our residents so that we can give them the all-round care and support they deserve.
We want our homes to be warm and welcoming with interesting events and first-class hospitality. As a Hospitality Host, we have an important part to play in making sure that happens. In particular, we provide a friendly, engaging and helpful service in our dining room and bar areas. It’s a fulfilling role that will give me a real opportunity to enhance the lives of all our residents and one which I enjoy!
