Overall Experience

Our Mother has several complicated medical conditions and these were not being managed well at the previous establishment, as a family, we decided the best decision was to move her to one that could. She moved into The Manor in Aug 2016 and has flourished in the last 9 months becoming more and more comfortable in her surroundings, increasing in confidence and demeanour on a daily basis. We find every staff member are not only extremely competent but also happy to be there. The genuine care and affection shown to our Mother have been wonderful. We are also very pleased with the efforts made to provide stimulating activities to residents, regardless of ability. To hear our Mother tell us of her trip out to 'on the bus' was wonderful. It is clearly evident that she thoroughly enjoys these trips out. Finally, we must also pay tribute to the Kitchen staff who make every effort to ensure our Mother eats well despite her conditions and we have seen a return of her appetite during this time.

Mother in Law received compassionate and professional care. The job of keeping her pain free and as comfortable as possible was done 100% by all staff involved. The home was clean and well appointed. Anybody leaving this world would only hope for such help and care given at Manor House Stafford. The gardens and buildings were lovely.

Our first impressions were that the clients own facilities were large, light and airy, and clean whilst still having a homely feel.
All the staff (there were numerous) were very friendly and helpful.

Our family have been very impressed with the care and attention provided.

Overall Experience

My mother has been in the Levedale Unit for two years now and has received consistently caring attention and is always, to our knowledge, treated kindly and with dignity. When she reached her £23,000 bank figure earlier this year we were told that Staffordshire County could find a home which would not involve any family contribution. The difference between that home and Manor House was sufficient for my brother and I to opt to pay £1,200 a month and this was for our peace of mind and mum's care.

Simon Dixey
Simon DixeyJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2025

Hello, I’m Simon, a qualified nurse with over two decades of experience across health and social care, including learning disabilities, mental health, and dementia care. As a dedicated Home Manager, I’m passionate about leading teams, driving service improvements, and ensuring every individual receives care that is person-centred, safe, and delivered with compassion.

Outside of work, I’m a proud father to four daughters and share my home with three energetic pugs—Boe, Bear and Betty—who certainly keep life interesting. You’ll often find me with my family cheering on Stafford Rangers, travelling home and away to support the team. I’d like to think I have an approachable nature, a good sense of humour, and a strong commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.

Jennie Loraso
Jennie LorasoJob Title:Deputy ManagerJoined: 2025

My name is Jennie I have been in post as Deputy Manager at The Manor House since July 2025. I thoroughly enjoy working as part of our community with our residents, diverse nursing team and caring and friendly staff.

I qualified as an RNLD in 2016, after studying at Keele University. I was attracted to nursing because I have always enjoyed caring for and nurturing others, building connections and making a positive contribution to others' lives, and have a strong desire to make a difference.

Before qualifying, I worked for a number of years as a health care support worker for people with learning disabilities and older adults with dementia. When I qualified, I worked as a community nurse within the Community Mental Health Team, before working in nursing homes.

I initially began working in a nursing home setting after being drawn to providing long-term care to people, getting to know them for who they are as individuals, and developing lasting therapeutic relationships. I particularly enjoy supporting people at the end of their lives and providing palliative care.

After 4 years as a staff nurse, I began working as a clinical lead for a further 4 years, ensuring that high standards of nursing care and clinical practice were maintained within the home. I have worked in nursing homes for the last 8 years.

In my spare time, I love spending quality time with my 3 children, baking (and eating!) cakes, spending time outdoors and eating out
