The basic care is good. The staff are friendly and attentive.
At times the detail of care could be improved to make the resident's life more pleasant, for example; I often used to clean the wax from hearing aids and replace the batteries. Sometimes nails need trimming. Overall, a very good home.

I chose Rowan Court to care for my mother, she has Alzheimer's because of the great reviews and close proximity to my own home. In the early days, I myself found it hard to deal with the situation. This had nothing to do with Rowan Court. My mother also took a couple of months to settle in and accept
her new life and surroundings. Now she is a changed person, dressing up every day and doing well. She seems happy and content. I cannot thank all the staff enough, they have been brilliant and they genuinely seem to care about both my mother and myself.
M only small criticism is that her bathroom needs to be spruced up, especially the flooring. I made the right choice by choosing Rowan Court.

I live quite far from Rowan Court so generally make a monthly visit.
Mum is normally in her room or the TV room. She is generally happy within herself and normally a care assistant will say hello whilst we are together and this gives me a chance to share any questions I have or anything the carers
have noticed.
Mum seems content.
Sometimes I would like her to eat more vegetables(!)

Overall, the staff are very good with perhaps the odd exception. There is some inconsistency when giving medication is concerned - some will allow full quota but others restrict them.
I believe my friend is treated with dignity. Meals could be better and more varied, with requests being taken into
account eg: fish in sauce, rather than batter.

I can not praise Rowan Court enough. The staff and their duty of care are an absolute credit to the Avery Healthcare Group.
Every time I visit, I am met with smiles, Rowan Court has a lovely welcoming atmosphere.
I was extremely unhappy with the home social services placed my mum in, so I arranged
for her to move to Rowan Court. I stand by my decision, this care home is wonderful.

Excellent care of Aunty as always, with updates by phone whilst we have been on holiday. Great peace of mind. The day to day care, photos of activities and events that Aunty takes part in and other events visible on social media are also helpful for those of us with loved ones who can no longer communicate

My relative went into Rowan Court last month, struggling with heart failure and dementia. Thank you to The Manager and all the staff for their expertise, kindness and dedication. The advice staff give to our family has been very much appreciated. It is so hard to know what to say and how to help when
a loved one has dementia. My relative has a beautiful room with her chair and bed facing a window. it is clean and modern with her own television and toilet facility. The Manager gave her a place for respite care but she has been assessed by an independent Occupational Therapist as too weak and frail to be safe living in her own house anymore.


As a family, we are comforted to know our relative is in safe hands 24 hours a day. All the staff are doing their best to encourage her to get out of bed, drink, eat and walk. We are hoping our relative will stay as a permanent resident at Rowan Court but she still has the capacity to make her own decisions.

The staff have been working very hard under the very difficult conditions due to covid restrictions. Caring for people with dementia can be really difficult and takes a great deal of patience and the carers have been doing sterling work.

My mom was at the care home with a rapid brain tumour the staff were very helpful with my mom day and night looking after her so good and coping with covid rules. I was unable to visit my mom but the Manager and staff constantly kept me updated daily I did face time calls with her and a member of staff
daily. They were great with me and gave me lots of support. As for the home, the food was excellent and the home was very clean, sadly my mom passed but I still keep in touch with the home. It’s the best in the City of Stoke on Trent.

Staff are extremely kind to my aunt and my uncle when he visits. The home is clean and warm. Care is outstanding, staff are amazing, and treat my aunt as if she were a member of their own family. Feel very confident that my aunt is in a safe and caring environment.

The care my husband receives is excellent. There came a point where I could no longer care for him at home.
He could not be in a better home than Rowan Court. He is well cared for and the staff are amazing he has settled in well. He is a Parkinsons' dementia resident. The unit he lives in is the best

I am happy with the care and attention given to both my parents who are in Rowan Court Care Home, Silverdale Road, Newcastle-under-Lyme. My father is in residential and my mother is in nursing and all the staff that I have come into contact with have been very professional, courteous, and helpful.

the covid pandemic, they have been exceptional and have kept me informed of any and all issues that have arisen and in booking my visitations during this difficult time.

I cannot begin to say how amazing all the staff at Rowan Court have been. At a very difficult time when my family and I face the prospect of end of life.
