Mum is normally in her room or the TV room. She is generally happy within herself and normally a care assistant will say hello whilst we are together and this gives me a chance to share any questions I have or anything the carers...

My relative went into Rowan Court last month, struggling with heart failure and dementia. Thank you to The Manager and all the staff for their expertise, kindness and dedication. The advice staff give to our family has been very much appreciated. It is so hard to know what to say and how to help when a loved one has dementia. My relative has a beautiful room with her chair and bed facing a window. it is clean and modern with her own television and toilet facility. The Manager gave her a place for respite care but she has been assessed by an independent Occupational Therapist as too weak and frail to be safe living in her own house anymore.
As a family, we are comforted to know our relative is in safe hands 24 hours a day. All the staff are doing their best to encourage her to get out of bed, drink, eat and walk. We are hoping our relative will stay as a permanent resident at Rowan Court but she still has the capacity to make her own decisions.

The staff have been working very hard under the very difficult conditions due to covid restrictions. Caring for people with dementia can be really difficult and takes a great deal of patience and the carers have been doing sterling work.
