My husband is a resident at Cedar Lodge, he suffers from complex dementia and definitely not the easiest or cooperative resident.
Right from the start, the carers made every effort to get to know him and divert him, with little cooperation from him. Therefore he settled in, in a fairly short time.
The
carers’ knowledge and expertise is obvious in that he trusts them, and even when he is aggressive the kind care continues from a distance.
He now regards carers and residents as his family and does enjoy the companionship.
I would also like to say that they have very supportive GP care.

Everyone at Cedar Lodge is kind and thoughtful, caring and compassionate. My parents have both been at Cedar Lodge for over two years and their care has always been amazing. During this awful time of not being able to visit, I have been reassured by telephone calls and zoom calls. My parents could not
be anywhere better in the country - the staff are simply amazing. The care and consideration given to both my parents is second to none. I am eternally grateful for everything the staff do.

The care provided to my mother at Cedar Lodge is and has been exceptional. By next autumn, she will have been a resident for six years and for the whole of this time, the staff have been attentive, caring and professional. The facilities are very good as are the activities provided to residents. I would
have no hesitation in recommending Cedar Lodge to anyone looking for a safe and caring environment for an elderly resident with dementia or Alzheimers.

Since moving into the home Mum has had the best care. The staff are always very helpful and caring. Mum has really brightened up since being there. Since mom came into Cedar Lodge. She has been loved and cared for. We have always been well informed of mom's care and we have always been welcomed and felt part of the family here in which we believe is important. My mom is openly loved and respected and I go away from Cedar Lodge feeling happy and
confident. Mom knows the staff and never feels to me like she is anywhere but comfortable and happy and in her own home.

My husband has recently passed away and was a resident at Cedar Lodge for almost a year.
He was a little agitated and upset for first few weeks understandably, but every member of staff, manager and office staff, domestic and catering, activities coordinators and especially the carers and nurses have
been exceptional in their care and concern for my husband all through his stay. It has made a hard time for him and his family, a lot easier to bear, especially the last few weeks of his life.

Mam is comfortable, well cared for, not always happy but varies from each of our visits. The staff here are wonderful and our family and families are in mind of excellence with everything that is done here.

Having no near relatives, living alone, being 91, I put myself in this care home of choice, after a hip fracture repair in December 2018. I am very content here, the place is spotless, the staff generally kind and helpful. My only complaint is, having to wait a long time after dining room meals to be
taken back to your room.

Our mother spent the last month of her life at Cedar Lodge as soon as we were welcomed to view the home we knew it was the right place. My father spent the last year of his life at Cedar Lodge. I cannot praise this home highly enough. The home is very clean and homely and the food excellent. The management run the home very effectively and with great care for each resident. All the staff we have come across, whatever their role, have
been kind, considerate and helpful. There are regular events, entertainments and outings organised which residents can participate in as they choose. Family members are always welcomed to visit at any time.
Sadly, my father died recently. His end of life care was exemplary and the staff helped me and the rest of the family through a difficult time.

Dad has lived with dementia for several years and up until recently has been cared for by my mum at home... not always easy. He has been in two other care homes since the beginning of 2018 before finally settling at Cedar Lodge - hopefully, the place he will be able to call his forever home. Whilst
its early days for him here, so far we have been shown nothing but support and high quality, friendly care. For the first time in years, mum has been able to have a 'day off' from visiting dad, as she, at last, feels he is somewhere where he is truly well looked after. The staff are kind and always have a smile and he is encouraged to be involved in the music therapy, which he loves. He has also been hugely supported by the chaplain which is so important to both mum and dad. So far, so good!! This care home really does feel like 'home'.

My great grandma moved to Cedar Lodge in July 2018, on the day she arrived she was met by warm, welcoming staff who couldn't do enough for her and still to this day the staff go above and beyond to make sure that my great grandma is happy and content. I can't praise the staff enough for their care and
devotion.

I visit Cedar Lodge at least 3 times a week. I am always greeted with a smile from admin, always asked if I need anything. The home is so homely and cosy, very clean, the food is always amazing. The time to get to know my relative and what they like, always trips out and activities.

For the past 4 years, she has led the home as Manager, fostering an inclusive, supportive environment for both residents and their families.
