I first contacted Cedar Lodge Care Home early evening one Friday as a previous care home had let my dad down for respite care. The manager could not have been more helpful, I felt swept up and actually cared for and the care Dad then received was exemplary. He didn't just receive care for his knee replacement and delirium but, as he got better, the spiritual care he received helped him grieve for his wife who he lost nine months ago.

I was also impressed with all the online/digital forms I could complete as many still require handwritten ones! I could not recommend Cedar Lodge and their staff enough.

We are so glad you found us helpful. We always try to respond to residents' and their family's needs, not just physical but emotional and spiritual too, all of which are an intrinsic part of MHA's values. My mum spent the last two weeks of her life at Cedar Lodge Care Home in March of this year and I could not have asked for a better place.
I honestly cannot rate the staff who cared for her highly enough. The team are the most kind, compassionate and considerate group of individuals I have ever encountered. The care, concern and respect that my mum, and I (as the only relative), received was truly exceptional. I was constantly kept well-informed of her condition and consulted with regard to every important aspect of her care.
I will be forever grateful to the manager and her staff for making my mum's final days ever so peaceful and comfortable.
Having had relatives in other nursing homes in the past I can genuinely state that Cedar Lodge is outstanding in all areas.

Thank you Cedar Lodge for giving me such special memories of my final hours with my mum.

Mum has been a resident at Cedar Lodge Care Home for a year. During that time there have been challenges due to her dementia. Staff have always looked after her with care and compassion. We are always kept informed, welcomed as visitors and feel part of the Cedar Lodge family.

Whole team are caring, professional, engaged with residents and family. Like many care homes, short-staffed and dependent on agency but MHA staff bear the burden and remain true to themselves, the residents and MHA. Sometimes difficult to observe agency staff and lack of knowledge and commitment. MHA should be proud and reward accordingly the staff at the care home. They are a credit to themselves and MHA. Hope MHA appreciate them.

Sadly my stepmother was only in the home for a few days, but the care and support we had was amazing.

How residents are cared for is second to none, the obvious attention to detail in ensuring their safety. The obvious caring side of the carers, although the visit in these times was surreal, every effort was made to make it feel normal.

My dear mother went to Cedar Lodge in July this year as her husband had died and she could not cope alone due to her dementia. She was so content at Cedar Lodge. Always smiling when I visited or called her on FaceTime. Despite Covid restrictions, the home made every effort to give me quality time with her. The staff are caring, kind and helpful. Their care is personal and thoughtful and they treat residents with respect for their dignity. Mother also loved the food. I could not have asked for better care for my mother in the last few months of her life.

Compassionate and thoughtful care for my late mother in challenging times. The staff are always professional and welcoming and give all residents and their families the support they need. Having permanent staff and not being reliant on agency personnel means that there is a family feel to Cedar Lodge and consequently it feels homely and comfortable.

First-class in every respect. We had to move my mother into a nursing home just before lockdown, and from the moment we walked in, we knew that she would be happy at Cedar Lodge. The care for her, and for us, under incredibly trying circumstances due to COVID has been first-rate. The staff got to know my mother very quickly, and treated her as an individual, with dignity and respect. There’s a tangibly calm and happy atmosphere in the home which is underpinned by high standards in all aspects and a professional but warm approach. Communication has been excellent.

I unreservedly recommend this home - it is outstanding and I am so glad that my mother was able to spend her final few months being cared for so well.

Cedar Lodge provides first-class care, nursing and genuine love and concern to both our parents who have been at Cedar Lodge since March 2018.
Both have different needs and both receive the absolute best of love and attention.
Zero positive tests during the COVID crisis is a true testament to their absolute professionalism and attention to cleanliness and hygiene.

We cannot praise everyone at Cedar Lodge enough for what they do.

My husband is a resident at Cedar Lodge, he suffers from complex dementia and definitely not the easiest or cooperative resident.
Right from the start, the carers made every effort to get to know him and divert him, with little cooperation from him. Therefore he settled in, in a fairly short time.
The carers’ knowledge and expertise is obvious in that he trusts them, and even when he is aggressive the kind care continues from a distance.
He now regards carers and residents as his family and does enjoy the companionship.

I would also like to say that they have very supportive GP care.

Everyone at Cedar Lodge is kind and thoughtful, caring and compassionate. My parents have both been at Cedar Lodge for over two years and their care has always been amazing. During this awful time of not being able to visit, I have been reassured by telephone calls and zoom calls. My parents could not be anywhere better in the country - the staff are simply amazing. The care and consideration given to both my parents is second to none. I am eternally grateful for everything the staff do.

The care provided to my mother at Cedar Lodge is and has been exceptional. By next autumn, she will have been a resident for six years and for the whole of this time, the staff have been attentive, caring and professional. The facilities are very good as are the activities provided to residents. I would have no hesitation in recommending Cedar Lodge to anyone looking for a safe and caring environment for an elderly resident with dementia or Alzheimers.

Since mom came into Cedar Lodge. She has been loved and cared for. We have always been well informed of mom's care and we have always been welcomed and felt part of the family here in which we believe is important. My mom is openly loved and respected and I go away from Cedar Lodge feeling happy and confident. Mom knows the staff and never feels to me like she is anywhere but comfortable and happy and in her own home.

My husband has recently passed away and was a resident at Cedar Lodge for almost a year.
He was a little agitated and upset for first few weeks understandably, but every member of staff, manager and office staff, domestic and catering, activities coordinators and especially the carers and nurses have been exceptional in their care and concern for my husband all through his stay. It has made a hard time for him and his family, a lot easier to bear, especially the last few weeks of his life.

Thank you to you all.
