My father has been in the home for quite a while now as far as I am aware he is very happy and well looked after. The staff and carers are very close and caring and look after my dad very well and of lately my dad has been very ill and the carers and duty nurses have been exceptional. I am very relaxed
with my dad here so I am happy.
Reply from Nadine Webster, Home Manager at Cedar LodgeThank you for telling us about the exceptional care that your Father has received at Cedar Lodge. It's lovely to hear that your Father is so happy and that you can relax knowing he is well cared for by a close and caring team.

My Dad has been living at Cedar Lodge for two years, it was a relief to find such a fantastic home to care for him.
It is secure with coded locks but easy to access for relatives and friends who can visit at any time.
The staff are brilliant, caring and helpful, always available to answer any questions.
Activities
are provided every day. They are varied to include each of the resident's particular interests and include trips out on their own minibus.
The chefs provide wonderful food and do their best to include any particular requests.
Cedar Lodge is always kept extremely clean.
Residents are treated with care, dignity and as individuals.
Reply from Nadine Webster, Home Manager at Cedar LodgeThank you for telling us about the care and support your Dad receives at Cedar Lodge. It’s great to hear how brilliant you think our team are, they will be delighted to hear your lovely comments.

I cannot praise this care home enough! My granddad was in Cedar Lodge for around 18 months, I can honestly say it was the best decision we ever made. He absolutely loved living there, amongst all the other residents and joining in all the daily activities - his favourite being the music man on a Tuesday!
The staff are incredible - it is like one big family and they made it so much easier for us as a family to cope. Unfortunately, my granddad passed away at the end of January but the support and guidance we received from everyone were amazing. The staff even coming in on their days off to check we were all ok, and bringing us meals on wheels when we were there all day and night, I don't think you would receive better service in a hotel!
Reply from Lynne Stephens, Home Manager at Cedar LodgeThank you for telling us about your Granddad, it is great to hear how much he enjoyed living at Cedar Lodge and singing with our music therapist. I’m sorry your Granddad has now passed away but it's lovely that our team were able to help provide a good end of life experience for him and all of the family. Thank you again for taking the time to tell us about this in what I’m sure is a difficult time for you.

My mother is a resident at Cedar Lodge and I have been pleased with the overall care and the staff have been great even though I know that they find it difficult to recruit the right staff.
Reply from Lynne Stephens, Home Manager at Cedar LodgeThank you for telling us about the care and support your Mother receives at Cedar Lodge. It's great to hear your lovely comments regarding the quality of the team.

As always, recruiting the right people is an ongoing challenge for all care providers. I’m pleased to report that our challenge is going well and that we are very proud of the standard of care our colleagues at Cedar Lodge provide.

Mum has been very well cared for since moving to the home over a year ago. The staff have patience, treat residents as individuals, and have a very caring attitude. It was very difficult moving mum from an independent life to residential, but we feel that we can trust everyone there to help her in
every way. She developed an infection recently and it was only because of the quick response of staff on duty to a serious situation which enabled her to make a full recovery.
Reply from Michelle Bisseker, Home Manager at Cedar LodgeThank you for telling us about the care and support your Mum receives at Cedar Lodge. It’s a difficult time when a loved one needs to move to residential care and I am so pleased that it has proved positive for your Mum and the family. I'll be sure to pass your comments, about how patient and caring everyone is, to our team.

Our mother has been at Cedar Lodge for 18 months after we felt she was unable to safely look after herself. She is gradually developing dementia and after looking at about 8 care homes in the area we decided on Cedar Lodge partly for the location but mostly for the general appearance and friendliness.
It
has proved to be the right decision for my sister and I, the staff are very caring and the manager very approachable. I pop in at a variety of times and have always been happy with the way the residents are treated, with respect and dignity.
There are lots of activities and trips out which I know mum really appreciates.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.756)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.756) out of 10 for Cedar Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 25 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.756 for Cedar Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (226 Excellents x 5) + (66 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 295 Ratings = 4.756
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cedar Lodge is based on 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 47 registered maximum number of service users is 9.4, which has been reached with 25 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
