We would like to thank all of the staff at Bankwood for the fantastic job you are doing to look after our mother. We feel very fortunate that she is in an excellent care home; being looked after so well. You care for her as you would a member of your own family, and this means a lot to us. It is a comfort to be able to talk to her on video chats and see that she is well. Thank you for making this possible.
We know that this is an extremely difficult time for all of you and hope you are all able to stay well and safe.

Thank you for all that you do.

My cousin was taken to Bankwood Care Home because she was too ill to look after herself at home. She settled in well and joined in the activities and was looked after very well by all of the staff, which made her very comfortable during the short time she was there.

All the staff are kind, caring and very professional. They work tirelessly to improve the lives of residents. Staff have gone out of their way to ensure that Mum was as comfortable as possible. Mum sadly passed away recently. Whilst she was the end of life care all of the staff treated her with dignity and couldn't do enough to support the family through a very difficult time. They are a credit to their profession

I have been a resident here since January 2000 and I am receiving palliative care. I occupy a pretty room overlooking the estate gardens, adequate furnishings, own pictures and ornaments encouraged. The staff are kind, caring and professional in their encouragement on difficult days. Excellent midday meal provided, plenty of fresh vegetables and choice. We also have a hairdresser and manicurist on site. I consider myself to be offered accommodation here very fortunate.

From our first visit, the family felt that Mum was receiving the best possible care. Staff were compassionate, friendly, professional and never too busy to engage with Mum or the family. Staff felt like friends, even after a short period of time. As a family, we felt looked after too. Tea was always available and visiting times were flexible to suit all our needs/wishes.

My Aunt has been at this home for 3 3/4 years and I am a frequent and regular visitor. My Aunt's care has been excellent. All the staff are wonderfully caring. From the nursing/managers to the carers/cleaners/kitchen staff. I have been very impressed.

The home is very caring and all the residents are treated with respect and kindness. It is a "home from home" and every effort made to make the residents comfortable and wanted. I am relaxed in the knowledge that her care is second to none.

My dad spent the last three months of his life at Bankwood, following an extended stay at hospital. The manager and her team made sure, without exception, that he was comfortable and treated with respect and dignity during his stay there. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the home to anybody.

The staff are friendly and work to capacity. I feel more staff would stop people having to wait for attention. Food is excellent. For my Dad having things in a set place is important. He likes a routine. He is finding it hard to adjust after years of independence.

Our mum was admitted for end of life care. We cannot fault the care she received. All staff were excellent and at the most difficult time at the end, everything was handled with caring and sympathy.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I can’t thank all at Bankwood enough for the beautiful care and compassion given to my Mum-in-law in her last weeks of life. The moment we arrived at Bankwood following discharge from hospital for End Of Life care, the stress and tension melted away from me and Mum’s condition improved dramatically with good food and hydration and the kind care and attention from all staff. I believe this good care allowed her extra time to see family and friends that may not have been possible otherwise.

The entire ethos of the staff at Bankwood, regardless of their role, is one of kindness and compassion and they treat everyone with such respect. A very sad time for us but we can look back without worry as she was so well cared for, her every need and symptom was expertly managed.

Thank you again to all staff at Bankwood, you are all very special people.

Dad had just three weeks of care at Bankwood following a week in hospital. He had an aggressive vascular dementia so had a roller coaster final three weeks, culminating in a final day when he died in his sleep.
The staff were always so thoughtful and caring towards him, listening to his needs and calming him on his occasional agitation episodes.
We found as a family that Dad's needs couldn't have been better addressed. Following his death, the respect shown was wonderful and the staff all genuinely missed him.

Thank you all.

My mother's stay in Bankwood at Duffield was excellent. All of the staff, from the manager, nurses and care staff were so caring and supportive. I was so impressed with the way they cared for Mum. My special thanks to the manager, who was so caring and supportive when Mum was transferred to hospital.
