Staff as anywhere does change. However, the level of care and compassion given to residents never falters. Our aunt has been resident in Bankwood for 2 years and we have been able to witness the upgrading and refurbishment that is always ongoing to keep Bankwood at its best.
My father was in Bankwood until his death in July 2018 and I found the care he had and the welcome I always had made it easy for me to come back and join in activities.
After 4 weeks here at Bankwood, I am now a permanent resident and could not be happier. I have made lots of new friends and love the staff.
Mum is happy at the home. She likes her room and the staff are friendly and helpful and she will remain at the home. Thank you.
My mother has only moved into this home this week. As soon as I walked into the home I felt a good atmosphere. The staff have all gone out of their way to be helpful and answered all my questions.
The staff are always welcoming and have the time for residents and visitors. A very pleasant atmosphere. Some rooms seem rather small but lounges are very comfortable, everywhere is clean and smart.
I have been very happy with the care my mother has received since moving from residential to nursing care now in Bankwood. Staff have been kind and supportive with the nursing staff in particular taking action when needed. The car parking and access are tricky, due to geography, but this is no one's fault. Rooms are small but clean and well kept.
I have been here almost a year after a fall and I am perfectly satisfied with everything. I enjoy going to the hairdresser here each week and chatting to other residents and their families. I am always encouraged to join in the various activities and enjoy doing so.
My mother has been a resident here for 2 1/2 years. All the staff are wonderful and treat my mum with dignity, respect and kindness. My mum is very happy here.
I would recommend this home to everybody.
I am always asked to join in all activities. I like to keep fit and also watching TV. I have made loads of new friends.
My family visits regularly.
We had 2 reindeer at the home at Christmas. This was the first time I had petted reindeer - amazing.
This is the next best thing to home. Very comfortable. My family are always made welcome and I often Skype my daughter in America. I also enjoy the trips out.
During the time I spent at the home, I saw how well the residents were looked after, the home is clean and well run, the staff work really well as a team and I would highly recommend this care home to others.
Thank you for everything you have all done, it meant such a lot to us all.
From when Dad entered the home until he sadly died in November 2017. The standard of care and compassion towards dad and our family has been outstanding. Visiting Dad and seeing other residents and lovely staff has become part of our lives. Thank you to everyone.
The management provided him with all the extra equipment we required for his severe disability. A wonderful management, well trained caring staff. The catering staff provided lovely food and a varied menu.
A Big Thank you for looking after my husband so well.
End of life provision was excellent. My aunt was 105 and particularly awkward. The home and staff were excellent with her.
Staff are consistently cheerful and there is an upbeat ethos in the home. I am particularly impressed by the way they manage individual residents' needs, even when it can be a little challenging. Training in dementia care is evident in all the different levels of staff.
Patient-focused, centred care and an excellent range of services available.
The smiling staff are always very obliging. The administration is clear, concise and prompt.
Questions are answered clearly and accurately.
The food choice is excellent, laundry staff are understanding and compassionate - all areas.
Overall an excellent first impression!
My uncle has only been here 1 week. Staff have been tremendous in helping him settle in.
I can't be more impressed with the nurses, carers, activities and kitchen staff.
My aunt was a lovely lady but difficult to please. She settled in really well and had no complaints whatsoever. She died in the home and the staff were fantastic, so compassionate and caring.
My mum has been at Bankwood for just over 2 years after struggling on her own.
She never wanted to go into a care home but quickly adapted to life here and wouldn't want to live anywhere else now.
