In the twelve months that I have visited my auntie at Bankwood, I have never witnessed anything other than excellent care and devotion from the staff to all residents. Nothing is too much trouble which includes looking after visitors as well as the residents.
From the accommodation, staff, manager and activities organised to the excellent food, organised outings and wonderful scenery, everything has been first class. Staff are always available and their communication and kindness is overwhelming. I would recommend Bankwood without reservation.
Grandad spent the last 3weeks off his life at Bankwood Care Home, at a time we as a family we were heartbroken accepting that we as a family were no longer able to care for grandad at home, the dignity all at Bankwood showed our family so much support and compassion and more importantly you gave our loved one the care and respecting the dignity he deserved in his final few weeks of life..words could never describe just how grateful we all are to each and every single member of the team at Bankwood Care Home, you are all doing an amazing job keep up the hard work..thank you so much for everything x
My mother was only cared for by the staff at the nursing home for a very short time before she died. She was given end of life care in a very compassionate way and we were supported as a family.
They are so cheerful in sometimes difficult situations
We were very impressed with the care my father received and the dedication of all the staff. They treat the residents with the utmost care and concern for their wellbeing, both mental and physical. We felt my father was in a safe, secure environment, being closely monitored, by day and night. The care manager is a lovely person and genuinely cares for each of her residents and her example is followed by every member of her staff. Bankwood never seems like an institution and is very much a home-from-home. Visitors are welcomed and encouraged to join in the many activities arranged for the residents. The nursing care my father received was excellent. He was kept clean, with fresh clothing each day. The staff are very friendly and were genuinely upset when my father died. Their caring, sympathetic attitude towards his family, was much appreciated at such a difficult and sad time for us. I cannot praise the manager and staff highly enough for the excellent care he received in his last weeks of life.
Bankwood Care Home is an excellent care home where the staff are all very friendly and always have a smile on their faces. Nothing is ever too much trouble and any questions are always answered courteously. Bankwood Care Home is always clean and tidy and the only criticism is the "lift" which breaks and groans! I would certainly recommend Bankwood as a very caring home where everyone appears to be well looked after.
I would like to Thank you for your kind words regarding the care and staff at Bankwood Care home.
The lift has been refurbished and is maintained regularly. Our apologies if this has caused any recent concerns, this will be passed back to our estates team for review.
A number if Church members from Duffield Baptist Church conduct a monthly Christian worship service supported by the coordinator. The home is always very well presented and staff are generally cooperative.
If I had a relative who needed to be nursed I would definitely choose Bankwood Care Home because I can see quality care.
My aunt was in Bankwood Care Home for just a month before she died in early October. She was really very poorly and clearly wanted to be at home which was impossible. The staff at Bankwood Care Home took real care of her, treated her with affection, nursed her professionally and assisted her until her death.
Always a lovely welcome by all staff when visiting my mum. Cups of tea offered regularly during a visit! Rooms lovely, food excellent and cooked to personal requirements with plenty of choice. Very clean and fresh environment with plenty of activities if required or quiet time if preferred for mum. All staff are very friendly, nursing care was excellent and any change in my mum was communicated to me. Mum's end of life was dealt with in a very loving, caring manner. Mum and our family/friends couldn't have wished for better.
Home position was ideal. Lovely, friendly, compassionate and understanding staff, not only of our mother, but also friends and relatives too. All mums needs were met. Whenever I went to see mum she said how lovely it was there. Nothing was too much trouble. From start to the end, from morning papers to bed time. From one shift to another, the service provided at Bankwood was 24/7 and 110% service was given. Thank you very much Bankwood.
My father sadly passed away on 1st Sept 2016 at Bankwood Care Home and my comments relate to his time at Bankwood Care Home from 14th March 2016 to his passing. He had a brain stem stroke on 6th Feb 2016 and spent 5 weeks in the hospital. After confounding medical staff he was deemed well enough to be discharged to Bankwood. The superb care and attention given by the manager and her team quickly brought about an improvement in his condition and quality of life. The 6 months that we had with this special 91-year-old man was a real bonus and provided some excellent quality family time to him and the whole family and enabled him to meet and get to know his 3rd great grandchild and spend more time with his other two. We are all convinced that this would not have been possible without the "Bankwood effect". His care during the last few days was exemplary providing a peaceful and dignified passing.
I am very pleased with the care which my mother is receiving at Bankwood. Staff ar caring, supportive and very patient. They are well aware of and respond appropriately to my mother's individual and sometimes quite quirky needs. Nursing staff are quick to call in medical professionals when needed and always phone to update me on any medical problems and appointments. I am impressed by how not just nursing staff and carers, but also kitchen staff, laundry staff and cleaners make an effort to form close relationships with the residents. Everyone is quick to respond to any queries I have.
The team at Bankwood have given both my Mum-in-Law and my family a huge amount of support and taken great care of her at a very difficult time. We are deeply appreciative of their care.
I have been well cared for and my guests have been treated well. I have had good company in the conservatory.
Summer fair. Lots to do, very clean, good food. Everyone is involved and there is a good selection of activities for everyone.
I am happy with the location and the presentation of the home and the attitude of the management and personnel employed. The quality and presentation of the food is of a high standard. The furnishings are well maintained. I appreciated that at certain times of the day (meals etc) it is difficult to respond to urgent patients needs (toilet needs) which can frustrate those in need. The relationships between patient (resident) and personnel is good.
After my dad had a fall in December he was no longer able to look after himself. So I had to find a care home for him. I visited several homes before Bankwood and wasn't very impressed. When I viewed Bankwood I was really impressed with the standards of care and with the friendliness of the staff. I couldn't wish for a better place for him to be. Every time I visit I am greeted like an old friend, which makes my visits much more pleasant. I know that he is in the best possible place.
When mother came into this home after a bad stroke she was in a very distressed state. Due to the work and patience of the staff she is now more settled and calmer. Although there is no communication she is always spoken to in a respectful way and treated with dignity.
