Since my mum has been in the home she seems much happier in herself and is well looked after by all the staff who treat her with the utmost dignity and care.
She settled in quickly and the staff are very good to her.
Chatsworth Lodge is outstanding in the care they give. A big thank you.

I do not live local so I am very grateful to the staff keeping me up to date with my aunt's failing health. Despite the devastating recent floods on the lower floor of the home where my aunt's bedroom was, they kindly kept me up to date with the emergency evacuation and her health. She was moved to
a bedroom on the ground floor by moving the existing resident to a sister home. My aunt was too ill to move to another home. I can't fault the staff or home in any way.

My mum has been in Chatsworth Lodge Care Home for 4 weeks and has had the best care possible. She was very unsettled when she arrived but soon settled in the care of the staff who are amazing and we love how the residents are allowed to be their normal selves where they can. I give it 100%.

I couldn't be happier with the care that my father received at Chatsworth Lodge. My father could be quite exacting, as he had full capacity yet little strength, but he knew himself to be well looked after, especially medically. My father passed away at Chatsworth Lodge and the staff cared for him at
the end with the utmost dignity, compassion and kindness. They supported me too at his bedside, which I valued greatly. My father spent just short of two months at Chatsworth Lodge and was very poorly. However, a sad and difficult time was made as nurturing and attentive as could be wished.

Since reluctantly moving into Chatsworth Lodge just over a month ago, Mum has settled in well. We have been very impressed with the care Mum has received, she is safe, well cared for and we have peace of mind that her needs are being met. When we visit, the staff are very welcoming, friendly and happy
to discuss any queries we have around Mum's care. We cannot thank Chatsworth Lodge staff enough for making what has been such a difficult time for us as a family so much easier and giving us the reassurance that Mum is in the best possible place for her needs.

Always found the staff to be helpful. My relative is always treated with care. Staff always informed me of any changes in health and what treatment was being given and if doctor or district nurse had been involved.

Excellent care home. Wonderful, kind staff who take great care of the residents. The rooms and facilities are excellent and the staff really have made my mum's rooms perfect. My mother is slowly settling in and hopefully will improve.

Everything is absolutely fine at Chatsworth Lodge Care Home, with 24-hour care for my husband. The carers are a delight, having a laugh with him whilst still moderating his mood. The carers are always "on the ball" with medication and give as much time as they are able. I am forever grateful to all

Since moving into Chatsworth Lodge a year ago, we are happy that our mother is in capable and compassionate hands. She is treated with kindness and respect and encouraged to join in with as many activities as she can. She is always very complimentary about the meals and facilities and is very fond of

Fantastic staff, always smiling and attentive to the residents. My mum is happy here and other residents appear to be too. Clean environment and attention to detail, i.e. food etc.

Chatsworth Lodge Care Home became Dad's home three years ago and we could not have wished for better care in his final years. The staff have all been excellent and looked after him with amazing care. We know that Dad enjoyed his time here. The tender care that was shown to Dad and us in his final days

My mum has recently moved into Chatsworth Lodge Care Home and to say she didn't want to go in was an understatement. From the minute she went into the home she was greeted by management and staff and was made to feel very welcome. Mum has settled into the home now and is loving it. She loves the staff
and the banter they have looking at them as more like family. The staff cannot do enough and nothing is too much trouble. They are very friendly and caring and the management keeps us informed of any issues. The food is of good quality and Mum really enjoys the meals - she is now thriving. The home is excellent and we feel so lucky to have got Mum in. We feel, as a family, that Mum is being very well looked after.

Do you know, I am so happy that my dad is being looked after by such lovely, caring, wonderful staff. He is well looked after. I get regular updates on how he is doing, including invitations to residents'/carers' meetings.
Dad is very happy when I visit him which for me speaks volumes.

My mother entered Chatsworth Lodge Care Home just after her 100th Birthday.
She had fairly advanced dementia and it was no longer feasible to keep her with me at home. She did not take long to settle into the home and enjoyed the banter with the staff, whom she came to treat as family. I cannot fault
the care she received especially when, with her dementia, she could be difficult at times. The best example I can give was once when I was visiting and she was sitting in her room waiting for me she told the carer, who was showing me in, that she needed her hair brushing, to which the carer very nicely said 'but I have just done your hair', to which my mother held out an imaginary brush. The carer then proceeded to take the imaginary brush off my mum, pretended to brush her hair with it by lightly using her finger, then placed the imaginary brush very carefully on the bedside table next to her. Mum smiled her thanks. I didn't need to see anything else, this was tender care. I have no hesitation recommending the home.

All staff are very friendly and courteous to my mother. Respecting dignity at all times. She speaks well of the staff and managers and enjoys the meals that are prepared and offered.

Coming from hospital, my mother could not get used to being in isolation, but was helped by the staff. Her room was comfortable and very clean. The carers were extremely efficient in everything they did for her. The manager was very helpful and informative, nothing was too much trouble and I am sure
her stay will be a pleasant one.

Hello! My name is Zenka Shires, and I'm the Home Manager at Chatsworth Lodge Care Home in Chesterfield.


I've worked in care for over 25 years, and have the experience of working my way up from being a Care Assistant, to Senior Care Assistant, and through to the Management levels since joining Chatsworth Lodge in 1995.
