My father had been in respite here at Spencer Grove 18 months ago and we chose to come back for is nursing care in January 2026. I can't fault any staff member including kitchen staff, carers, nurses, management and cleaners. Your smiles, kindness and cups of coffee were gratefully received. Everyone has supported us as a whole family until the day he passed away. I shall be forever grateful for the care you gave and the dignity you preserved for my dad.
Thank you for taking the time to review our Care Home and for your kind words.
Whenever I visit the staff are all cheerful and friendly, the management team are always available to discuss issues and give advise were they can
As mother gets older and less mobile she is getting 'grumpy' and is not leaving her room much, the staff are excellent and cope with this with out issues.
This is an excellent home and the staff and management deserve a lot more praise than they get
Thank you for taking the time to review our home and for your kind words. You are very welcome to come and have a meal with us anytime.
Their care and compassion shown not only for my late mother but to all the other residents as well. The birthday spread the kitchen staff laid on for mum and the family that visited was beautiful as was the cake.
Many, many thanks again for your wonderful care. I have sent you all a thank you card.

My mum has recently moved in to Spenser Grove for a rest bite period due her Dementia worsening and starting to wander outside at night. The staff have really looked after her, helping her settle in, making her feel welcome and encouraging her to get involved with the regular activity's on offer. The rooms & facility's are excellent, very clean & tidy. Mum has now settled in & we're in the process of hopefully making this her new home. Staff are well trained and very kind/patient when looking after residents. The food is very good with choices at every meal. My mum is now safe and happy again, which is great to see.

Day care is also available, which helps myself as a carer to plan for the week ahead. Day residents are always made welcome when visiting.
Security at the home is excellent and visitors have to sign in and out electronically and wear an identification badge when visiting.

Our mum is 91 and moved into Spencer Grove in December, after a spell of uncharacteristic illness. She has settled so well, beyond her (and our) expectations. All the staff and carers have the residents welfare and happiness as their utmost priority. There is a comprehensive programme of entertainment and the Montesorri-led activities are well structured. Our mum is happy there - what more could we ask for?

The team provide exceptional care, facilities and entertainment. Mum has only been a resident for 2 months, but has settled in really well, thanks to the induction and attention she has received. We have great confidence in the experience Mum is receiving and grateful that the transition from independent living to residential care has been managed well by the management and staff. Mums health and mobility has improved and she seems far more social than living on her own. Great job Team Spencer Grove and thank you.

My Father has had to move down on to the nursing floor due to his needs. I was apporached with care and asked about my thoughts. They gave me all the information I needed and told me that I did not need to be there to help move his things etc, they would be able to do all of this for him. They showed me two rooms and after seeing them and a chat about them it was clear which was the best room to meet his needs.
After they had moved him, they had found some items that they thought to be special, they had kept safe untill I vistited him next time. I was very greatful for this as they were some picutres that my father had drawn and i will treatsure them.
The staff are always friendly and show care and compasion.

My mother has been a resident for nearly two years and is very happy to be here. We can see on every visit the care and dedication that all staff show to make every resident day the best it can be. As a family we just want mum to be happy and well cared for and we have the peace of mind that she is well looked after. Thank you all.

Mum has been in the care of Spencer Grove since January 2023 when she was admitted on End of Life Care. From that day to this her life has improved immeasurably. Though she was well cared for at home, I could only be there for a certain number of hours and she didn't want it to be otherwise, but when she became poorly it was clear we couldn't cope between us. Mum chose Spencer Grove as her new home as they had also cared for my Dad at the end of his life, so she is where she wants to be and completely content. This is something she wants everyone who visits to know. She has friends, she has a cosy room, she is waited on for all her needs and now when I visit, we have quality time together, instead of me doing all manner of necessary chores, so it benefits us both. The Spencer Grove Team, across the board, are so caring and kind that Mum feels she is at the heart of a new family who cherish and care for her throughout each day.

My mother is extremely well cared for by all the staff, they treat her with dignity, care and compassion.
Her health and wellbeing is closely monitored by the staff and nursing team, and well supported by the local GP practice.
Spencer Grove offers many and varied activities that mum loves to join in.
Being at Spencer Grove has given her a new lease of life, she is happy, has made many friends (both residents and staff), no longer feels lonely and feels safe and secure in her new 'home'.

My father in law has been at Spencer Grove Care Home for over a year, the staff have been extremely flexible and supportive with transitioning him into a day care environment. I am very pleased with the level of care that they are providing him.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a lovely review and for your kind words
As her needs changed, things were constantly assessed and altered to give her the best care.
The fact that there is both residential and nursing at the same facility gives you the options you need as the persons health changes over time.
There are even staff dedicated to the well-being of the mind. Keeping residents active with games, crafts, quizzes, as well as regular entertainers and other events.
The staff and facility are absolutely outstanding.

We are so pleased and relieved our Mum is a part of the Spencer Grove family. She was reluctant to give up her own home but has absolutely thrived in this warm caring environment. Both her and our needs are met with professionalism and compassion; staff are always helpful with a friendly word and cheerful smile. The leadership is exceptional. Thank you.

On visiting unannounced I have been very satisfied with security and impressed with the welcome I have received.
My observations of the overall care of my father by the staff has always been respectfull , person centred and meets his needs with his autonomy taken into consideration.
The care plans and daily diary of care recieved by my father are always upto date and reviewed regularly.
I am always alerted if a fall has occurred or with any concerns.
The meals are good and varied with a menu to suit all residents needs.
What is reassuring is that if my father is not ready to eat at usual times staff re offer food later.
There are many different activities available and my father is encouraged to take part.
There is an understanding of my fathers complex needs which are many and varied.
I'm unable to visit regularly so I can rest assured that my father is in competent hands.
Lovely, kind, caring, staff who have really tried to help my mum settle in even though she has struggled. They have gone to great lengths to make her feel at home. The home is immaculate and looks more like a hotel than a care facility. The activities are always fun, varied and the residents are encouraged to join in. The live music acts they have visiting really boosts the morale of the residents. Lots of smiles and most importantly laughter.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a lovely review and for your kind words,
Mum has been in the home since March and has settled well. Obviously leaving your own home and independence is hard, however the staff have been wonderful with this transition and made it as easy as it can be for us all.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a lovely review and for your kind words,
Spencer Grove is an excellent home for my mother. The staff are very caring and committed to helping the residents. The many activities are varied, interesting and stimulating. Mum really appreciates having everything done for her; not having to worry about household maintenance, shopping, cleaning, cooking, laundry, etc and she says the food is really good. And for me, I have peace of mind that mum is being well cared for and has help on hand if needed.
