The staff really are miracle workers. They've helped Mum get back to a physical level we didn't think possible as a family, she's so happy and settled, she's safe and so well looked after, and she's made genuine friendships with some of the other residents too.
With me not living nearby it's so reassuring for me to know that Mum is in such a great place. And with great people, I should add - the staff are just fantastic. They are brilliant with the residents, and also their families; they've always got time to discuss any thoughts or concerns. Nothing is too much trouble for them.
Spencer Grove isn't just a care home - it's a home for those who live there, and somewhere you can look forward to visiting.
If I could give higher ratings I would do.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a lovely review and for your kind words,
From day one when my father became a resident all the staff have been friendly, courteous and helpful. My Father is very happy here. He likes the activities, especially bingo and the quizzes and also enjoys the exercises. His room is comfy and he never has any complaints about the food or staff
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a lovely review and for your kind words,

I couldn't recommend the home enough. The staff treat people with dignity and the support is excellent. The place is always very clean with lots of activities happening. My friend has been in the home now for 3 months and is now enjoying a better quality of life, thank you Spencer Grove.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a thoughtful and kind review of our home. We're pleased your friend has settled so well.
My experience of the home is very good, the staff are very caring and understanding towards the residents and visitors and are always very helpful when needed. The facilities are good, very well maintained and clean and are always very warm and cosy.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review of our home and care.
Residents, along with their visitors enjoy a full schedule of activities, including entertainment from singers, crafting, painting, darts and visits from a local chaplaincy, to name but a few. A full schedule of activities is posted throughout the home on a monthly basis. This helps family and friends to plan our visits and join in with the activities.
The food always looks and smells good with residents having a good choice for each meal. The home has a well-maintained roof garden which my mother-in-law, along with many of the residents, enjoys visiting and is able to help plan and maintain in the warmer weather.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review.
Staff are delightful and always willing to go the extra mile in the care of the residents. Nothing is too much trouble. Very happy with the quality of care provided. The activities provided are frequent and well thought out to engage with the residents, and visitors alike, along with social events throughout the year. The food always appears appetising and you even get a lovely cake on your birthday. It is very reassuring to know that your loved ones are so well looked after.

In the short time my relative has been a resident in Spencer Grove I can't speak highly enough of the care and compassion that has been shown to him. Every member of staff has been exceptionally friendly to him despite his complex needs and not speaking very well. Nothing is too much trouble and all his needs have been met even offering him alternative food that is not on the menu.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful review.

I am really happy with the care my Dad is receiving at Spencer Grove. I feel confident that he is well cared for and if there are any issues, communication is great. There are a lot of activities which Dad has benefited from, as well as the company of the carers and other residents.

Meals are well presented and varied with themed menus on special dates and dishes to suit every taste. After a shocking illness which prepared the family for the worst, it's great to see her still getting involved with day-to-day events, almost 2 years later. A great testimony to the care she receives.
Thank you for leaving a lovely and thoughtful review of our home.

Mum looks forward to her meals which she always seems to enjoy. There is planned entertainment to join in with and numerous games and craft activities all around the home. Mum has settled very well and is happy.

Spencer Grove Care Home in Belper, is in my opinion, the best there is. My nan has been a permanent resident there since September last year, the very thought of her going into a care home filled me with dread that was until I visited Spencer Grove, the staff were absolutely lovely and friendly. The home is modern and extremely clean. The residents are very well looked after and cared for, I get regular updates regarding my nans well being. Apart from this she excitedly tells me when I visit all about the different activities she's taken part in which is really nice for her for example quizzes, bingo, skittles, arts and crafts, tv/dvd watching, nights at the pub, singing the list is endless. So a big thank you to all the hardworking staff at Spencer Grove for everything you do for us as a family but especially the great care you as a home provide for my nan.
Thank you for leaving a really thoughtful review of our home. We're so pleased gran is enjoying her activities and that you are happy with the care she receives.

Samantha began her career at the Milford Care group as a kitchen assistant when she was just 13. In 2018, Milford Care invested in Samantha’s future with the company by sponsoring her to follow her dream of becoming a Nurse Associate. After 3000 hours of placement and exams to become a registered nurse, Samatha passed with flying colours and continued her career in the care home.
After becoming a nurse, Samantha decided to put herself forward for the role of Spencer Grove Home Manager.
