The period this relates to is almost 4 years up Dad's passing on May 13th 2026. Diagnosed with Vascular Dementia, and only given a few weeks to live, he was placed with Sheila, Karen & The Laurels Team of Carers. Clearly, as he was with us for a few years after diagnosis, we have doubts it was 100% accurate. But what is not in doubt is the clear care, affection, warmth and respect which Dad clearly received from every member of staff we met - it really did feel like he was 1 of the family! At his funeral I commented on his biggest Life-long Love being (probably) Food and there was no shortage of it on offer by the excellent kitchen staff too! Finally, I could wax-lyrical an awful lot longer.... But, suffice to say, If you have a choice of where you can send your loved ones to receive end-of-life care I can recommend The Laurels wholeheartedly.
Thank you for sharing such heartfelt feedback. We're delighted to hear your father felt so welcomed, cared for and respected during his time with us. It means a great deal to know our team and kitchen staff made such a positive difference, and we truly appreciate your recommendation.
Nothing Is to much trouble.
Very down to earth staff, understanding and approachable.
My dad went from the hospital to the Laurels, he was very frail and scared as were we all. We were met with positivity and understanding. Nurses fabulous through-out. Kitchen staff amazing- thank you! All very much appreciated.
Thank you for sharing such kind feedback. We're delighted to hear your dad and family felt welcomed, supported and reassured during a difficult time. It means so much to know our nurses and kitchen team made such a positive difference. Your appreciation will mean a great deal to everyone involved.
I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff at laurels nursing home for the care & compassion they have shown for our mum & to us in the 5 months she was a resident in their care. Our mum suffered from dementia & sometimes she wasn't an easy person to deal with but the staff dealt with it with so much understanding, something we couldn't do at home. Thank you again

Supporting families through dementia care is incredibly important to us, and it means a great deal to know you felt cared for too.
My lovely wife and soul mate was admitted to the Laurels nursing home when the council decided to close down several homes in their possession, so my wife was transferred to the Laurels, she had later stages of dementia, and was treated like part of the family there, all of the staff were absolutely brilliant in the understanding of this horrible disease and I thank them all from the bottom of my heart for all of their kindness and dedication to their jobs, they looked after all of my family when we were visiting, I would thoroughly recommend this home

My mum was always treated with the upmost respect and dignity that she deserved.
Without the staff here my mums last few weeks would not have been the same.
From our family, we would like to share our deepest thanks from the bottom of our hearts.
This home definitely deserves 10/10.

Thank you for sharing such wonderful feedback. We're delighted to hear that your mum has experienced fantastic care and is now able to return home. It's heartwarming to know this made a real difference. We truly appreciate your kind words about The Laurels and wish your mum continued good health.
I have been a resident here for allmost a year, I was very ill when I came but with their kindness and care I have gradually improved. The food is very good and there is plenty of choice. I was made to feel at home immediately and the carers and nurses have been very kind and caring. I feel like one of the family. If I am ill it is dealt with immediately and I feel safe and secure.
My mum moved in here a year ago. She had been very ill and could no longer live independently. From the very start, the staff of all levels could not do enough for her. She was reluctant to be here in the begining but because of the way she was treated, settled in really well. She has thrived since being here and is the healthiest she has been for years. She feels safe and I do not have to worry about her getting ill as it is dealt with straight away. She enjoys the food and I am convinced the home cooked meals have played a big part in her recovery.
My friend has had a lovely experience at The Laurels. She is now a lot healthier and if she feels poorly there are nurses/doctors who sort her out. The can she gets is exceptional. - Food and snacks lovely. - Lots of lovely staff who talk to her.
Overall experience was excellent, very clean site. Very friendly staff.
I moved into The Laurels 2 years ago. I feel acceptedand cared for by all staff. I am never lovely and have made some lovely new friends.

As a family, we were really happy with the care my father received and with how professional, competent and friendly all of the staff were, they made my father comfortable and relaxed in his final weeks, for that we will be forever grateful.
Thank you for your kind words. We're truly grateful to have been able to support your father and your family during such a meaningful time. Knowing he felt comfortable and cared for means a great deal to us.
We were all worried when Mum went into respite care when we went on holiday. She had had numerous falls at home and lost her confidence. From the moment we stepped into the Laurels, we were welcomed. The staff are all amazing. Within a few hours, Mum knew she wanted to stay. She has a lot of friends, has her 'glow' back and is being cared for by the lovely staff. Thank you!
Thank you so much for your lovely review. We're thrilled your mum felt at home so quickly and that she's regained her confidence and made new friends. It's wonderful to hear she's happy and glowing again-our team will be delighted to know they made a difference!
Mum went into a care home for respite, it was like a hotel, but soon found out the care wasn't there. She ended up in the hospital through neglect, and he health and spirits declined. We thought we had lost her a few times, but she was not able to come back to live with me because her needs were too high. So I had to look for dementia nursing care. I visited lots and every time I ended up crying in the car park because none were suitable, I was becoming very disheartened until I visited The Laurels Nursing Home, I just knew straight away the manager and staff have such care and empathy. Mum moved in a week later, and like a miracle, she improved so much, but I now feel content knowing Mum is well cared for by the amazing staff. I now know I've chosen the best place for Mum, it's taken all the care and worrying from me. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We're delighted to hear how much your mum has improved since joining us at The Laurels. It means everything to know that you feel confident and at peace with the care she's receiving. Our team is truly dedicated to making every resident feel safe, valued, and well looked after.
I would recommend this home to anyone.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. We're thrilled to hear your mum always looks her best and that our team's care and attention are making a difference. It's great to know you find our staff friendly and knowledgeable, and our manager helpful and approachable.
The facility is well-designed and organised so resident so residents can feel at home while still having all the care and support they need. When visiting my uncle I was impressed by the number of staff on duty and their friendly and caring ways. All the staff were very compassionate and helpful to my uncle and the family. Thank you.
The staff look after the residents very well. The food is good and varied. It is always warm and comfortable. The home is well-decorated on the inside but the outside could do with a little attention. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a care home for a family member.
Thank you so much for your kind words and recommendation. We're so pleased to read your comments about the caring staff, home-cooked food, and the overall comfort of the home. We're also grateful for your feedback on the exterior and are pleased to share that following some external works last...
My mother is in very poor health and I was dreading Xmas. Most likely her last Xmas with us and also her first one in a care home. Honestly, the home couldn't have done more to ensure the festivities were filled with love, joy and fun. A member of staff dressed as Santa on the day and me and my sister cried happy tears when he surprised my mum with a visit on the big day. This epitomised the exceptional care my mum receives at the Laurels. The Manager's door is always open and welcoming should I have worries about my mum. What I thought was going to be a sad place to visit has become my happy place, as I make treasured memories.
Thank you so much for your heartfelt review for The Laurels. The home manager and her team will be so happy to read your wonderful comments and will be honoured to know they have helped to create such special memories for your family during what we know is a challenging time. Your kind words about...
