My Aunt was taken to this carehome with stage 4 cancer. From the beginning all the staff were helpful & welcoming they provided my aunt with everything her condition required, ie a bed to stop sores etc. All staff there were kind & cheerful. I can't thank them enough. My aunt passed yesterday with dignity & kindness.

Although dad was only in Shelton Lock Care Home for 11 weeks and never left his bed. He was always clean, comfortable and well looked after. All the staff were very kind and got to know his wants and needs quickly. Nothing we asked for was too much trouble. We couldn't have asked for better care for him.

From the moment we stepped into Shelton Lock Care Home, we knew it was the one for us. All the staff are very caring and take pride in all they do. Nothing is too much trouble. I would say that they treat all residents like their own family. We have nothing but praise for them and thank them for looking after our dad so well.

My father came into the home march for 3 weeks restbite but never left..
As soon as he arrived he was greeted by the excellent management team and the outstanding team of carers cooks and house keepers..
Even the maintenance man was a fantastic help..
A massive help was him interacting downstairs with the other guests there and a special thank you to the games coordinator you know who you are and are a very special lady..
My father had his favourites who looked after him, he loved them all but he had those special ones again you know who you are and I thank you..
He was treated with compassion and dignity towards the end..
They made his last few days as comfortable as they could..

I would definitely recommend anyone who needs to be placed temporary or long term you would not go wrong here

We were very happy (as a family) with the care my father received in the five months he was in Shelton Lock Care Home. He was treated with care and dignity throughout. We found all the staff friendly and although my father ate very little the menu and the food quality looked excellent. At times we had to wait for someone to open the main door but understood staff were dealing with residents. Overall a lovely home and caring staff.

It's hard to find the words that describe what an amazing team you have at Shelton lock care home and we could not have asked for a better place for our Dad to be at his time of need. We picked a room for him overlooking the garden and although his time with you was short, those final days for all of us were made extra special because of the care you all provided. From the medical team, the support teams and everyone we met the kindness, the cups of tea and the hugs were aplenty.

If I were asked if I could recommend anywhere I would not hesitate to point someone to your door. Thankyou to each and every member of staff for making a difficult time a little easier.

Without exception, staff were kind and caring but there were clearly not enough of them to meet all resident's needs in a timely manner. The room and bathroom were not cleaned for a week with soiled towels left in the bathroom & the bin containing hygiene products was not emptied. There were issues gaining access on one occasion I rang the bell several times a waited 20 mins before banging on the office window to get someone to open the door. The food was good and always delivered with a smile.

It's a new life style for me at Shelton Lock Care Home. The nurses and carers take very good care of me with my many medication in a cheerful way (often for toiletry needs). They check me hourly 24/7, my clothes are all washed and odd jobs done.
The meals I choose are served in the dining room or my room. Some people watch TV together in the lounge, others do craft or games in the craft room, it's a way of meeting people.

I like to do jigsaws, read, go in the garden, have visitors, having my hair dressed and then watching evening TV.

My overall experience of the care home is very good.

Management are always happy to help with any problem. The care staff work very hard in sometime stressful situations. I know my mum is safe and well cared for when I leave her, that is everything to me. I am thankful to Shelton Lock Care Home. Great team.

I have been very satisfied with my experience, my mother quickly settled in and has now been there for three years. At first she was fairly independent with personal care and and needed help with mobility, as she has become more frail, the staff are very good with providing the extra care that she needs. She enjoyed the activities while she was able to attend.

My relative was so well looked after at Shelton Lock Care Home for the 6 years she was there with nothing being too much trouble. Her personal care was very good despite her being bedridden for several years. Everything I mentioned to staff and the manager was acted on giving love and understanding. When she passed away I was contacted so I could be with her and a member of staff was sitting with her when I arrived. The staff stood by the front door of the care home to say goodbye to her as she left. Because of the way she was treated another family member has now decided to choose Shelton Lock as a place they would move into.

The staff are mainly lovely. The home seems understaffed, why? Lots of agency staff especially nights. The staff need to be paid more! These kinds of care homes are making a lot of money! My mother had 3 days without heat last weekend! The radiator needed bleeding! How difficult is that to sort out? She is paying £1000 a week!

Although my mum was only at Shelton Lock Care Home for just over a week for end-of-life care. From the moment we arrived until the day she passed away the care and warmth shown by every member of staff was amazing. If I need a care home in the future or know of another relative that needs care I would highly recommend Shelton Lock. Thank you to all the team at Shelton Lock Care Home for making her last few days as comfortable as possible for her and for supporting us during this difficult time.

My Mother was admitted for end of life care, she was there for 8 weeks until she passed at the beginning of December. During her stay she was always kept clean, she visited the onsite hairdresser twice a week, her laundry was always returned. The food was excellent. On several occasions we joined her for lunch.
The knowledge of the qualified nursing staff was excellent.
On mums last days we were kept informed, the staff were sympathetic and understanding, we were supplied with endless tea and biscuits and sandwiches.
Special thank you to the team for supporting us as a family that day.

Thanks to the rest of the staff who looked after mum. Housekeeping, catering, carers and Management.
