Overall Experience
My father in law has been in this home for the past 5 years.

Despite it being a complete warren of a building, caring for a wide range of residents and the challenges that brings, the staff are warm, caring and committed. Always friendly and so obviously they care.

My mum was a recent resident at Normanton Village View. Can I just say that all the team there are amazing. They looked after my mum with so much care and attention. There are not enough words I can use to thank them. The home itself is clean and tidy and ran extremely well. If I could give them 10 stars I would. Thank you all so much again.

Overall Experience

My Mum has been a resident at Heron Court since she was discharged from hospital in March. The care she has received has been exemplary. Previously she was in a home where this was not the case and she had a bad fall. The contrast could not be greater. The staff are extremely caring and build positive relationships with the residents as individuals. My mum is as happy as possible, given her degree of dementia, for example, her personal care is meticulous and she even has little treats like having her nails painted. The nursing care is also first class and the Home has succeeded in healing a wound on Mum’s head which had deteriorated both in the previous home and in hospital. The home is welcoming and I always feel that my visits are valued. I really think my mum is getting the best of care at Heron Court.

Overall Experience

I would like to compliment and congratulate the staff of Village View nursing home in Derby. I have been visiting the home now for eight months and have found the staff very welcoming, caring and hardworking in what must be sometimes difficult and trying circumstances. A high standard of cleanliness is always maintained, clothes are laundered to a high standard and the food always looks appetising. If I ever have any issues, once I have spoken to someone, they will try their best to solve the problem straight away.

Highly unlikely to recommend following several visits to the care home.
More staff are needed, care could drastically be improved.

More training required for staff working in the care home.
