Eccleshare Court Care & Nursing Home

My dad came to the day centre and I came to check everything out beforehand and I took him and picked him up. The staff were absolutely amazing. Nothing too much trouble. He was only one of a couple without dementia so the staff made sure he was with people he could speak to. They treated everyone like family and constantly kept me involved with anything regarding my dad. He wasn't too keen to start there but ended up going twice a week & we were looking into him going more. He really enjoyed himself. He really enjoyed the food (that was very important to him) and loved the staff. I wholeheartedly think this home is amazing. They made my dads last year so full.

Personal care routines not followed, despite repeated asking. Room was sparse and the chair had been removed and not replaced until brought to the attention of management. Clock hadn't worked for over a year. Overfeeding, despite being asked to keep portions to a normal amount. Wearing of other people’s clothes, despite ours being clearly marked.

The staff are all very helpful, friendly and can be relied on to assist with any problems that arise. They all appear to be very patient and caring with the residents and provide facilities for entertainment.

Thank you to the staff who work very hard in a demanding and complex environment. I have witnessed some staff who go above and beyond to help Mum be as calm, comfortable and happy as possible. It has been really lovely to see Mum enjoying the activities.

Most of the carers are really good and deserve higher reward. But, I feel there are not enough of them to give my mum the full care and attention she needs. I would also like to see her encouraged more to join in activities, which I have mentioned a few times.

Every time we visit my dad, he is always happy and content. Nothing is trouble for the staff; they have helped my dad settle into the home and now we have peace of mind that he will be well looked after.

The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Can’t fault the management; any concerns I’ve had have been dealt with straight away. Mum absolutely loves all the staff and says they’re wonderful with her. Rooms are a really good size, and the food always looks good; haven’t tried it, but Mum says it’s lovely.

Our mum spent her last fourteen weeks in Eccleshare Court Care & Nursing Home. She was transferred as palliative/end of life. We cannot thank staff enough. She was looked after so well. She passed away with dignity and respect. Staff very friendly, kind to both us and Mum. Can't praise all staff highly enough. They couldn't do enough for us as a family on Mum's passing, offering us drinks etc. and even a guest room.

I expected the home to be friendly, unfortunately, I was very disappointed. My father and myself get ignored. The facilities for visitors (coffee and tea are near impossible) The machine is always out of order, and the kitchen is now locked up. The kitchen staff are super but no longer available as it's closed. I have made complaints many times, this doesn't help either. My father is very lonely and feels the same. I could be there for 3 - 4 hours and see no - one at all. My father may be demented but he says a lot to me.

My mum was placed on end-of-life care and I couldn't have wished for a better place for Mum to be. We were looked after as a family. Very caring staff, respectful and helpful. Mum was very poorly but she was nursed extremely professionally.

Absolutely outstanding care and support were given to all of us. Hubby was admitted for his last week fighting terminal cancer Everyone we came into contact with was caring, compassionate and welcoming. We were able to visit whenever we wanted and nothing was too much trouble whenever we arrived. His last hours were filled with so much care and compassion, very comforting for us all. So sorry I did not get to do this earlier forever grateful!

The end-of-life care my wife received at Eccleshare Court Care & Nursing Home was second to none. The help and empathy shown to me by all the staff was truly wonderful, making a very emotional and traumatic time easier to handle for which all the staff have my heartfelt thanks.

My mother was suffering from Dementia and Alzheimers and spent her final 6 months at Eccleshare Court. A difficult and upsetting time for us all. The care she received was excellent, she was treated with compassion, understanding and dignity at all times. The staff are clearly very experienced, pragmatic and knowledgeable in dealing with dementia patients and we cannot thank them enough for their professionalism and standard of care. Thank you.

Lovely welcoming atmosphere - bright, with a team of dedicated staff. Not able to pick any one in particular (1 person) because every member of staff, in all areas, were professional, efficient, caring individuals that go the extra mile to make the residents and visitors feel at home and valued. Would recommend this care home very highly. So grateful to all staff.

My brother who was terminally ill with cancer spent his final week in this nursing home. He was professionally and compassionately cared for, made comfortable and treated with dignity. I was so thankful he was able to be at peace and that we could visit as often and whenever we liked. When he passed away the staff were amazingly helpful and comforting. Thank you all so much.

I am very happy with all the staff of Eccleshare Court who care for my husband with dedication and friendship. Nothing is too much trouble and they always have a smile not only for my husband but for me too. During the last stressful month, their care has never faltered. Thank you all for your care over the last 2 years.

I feel totally at ease with my wife being at Eccleshare because I have full confidence that she is getting the care and support she needs. The staff are very friendly and supportive and treat my wife as a friend.

All staff that we have met have been extremely helpful and friendly. Despite Covid restrictions, visiting my father has been made as easy as it possibly could be. My father seems settled and content and is being well cared for. We appreciate the hard work of all the staff over the past year that my father has been a resident. Thank you.

My Father moved into Eccleshare Court in February a few weeks after losing his wife after 67 years of marriage. I live abroad and due to Covid, was not able to be with him when he moved but luckily his fantastic carer and friend organised everything. The Manager was so incredibly sensitive to our situation that she put me at ease at once, was always available to my many questions, and helped the transition into the care home go seamlessly. I was then lucky enough to have a call with the person who organises all the activities and we organised regular video calls which meant the world to me. We finally were able to visit at the beginning of October and all the staff made us so incredibly welcome, we arrived late on the first afternoon but that didn't matter and they let us see Dad as soon as we arrived. The following days were amazing and we even had lunch in the "Pub" with Dad and then the following day took him out. Thank you to all at Eccleshare for everything.

I feel that mum has received the best care from the home under some extreme conditions, lack of staff, and Covid restrictions. Mum had a spell in hospital and then went back to the care home, we were kept informed of Mum's care plan due to her hospital stay and nothing was too much of a trouble for the nurses if we needed to speak to them.
