Choosing a nursing home for my husband, who needed 24 hour care, was a worrying and difficult task. As soon as I visited, I knew this was the one. The staff always have a smile on their face, and the atmosphere is full of care and compassion. My husband is tall, so an extension was found for the bed. Everything possible is done to keep him comfortable. A doctor visits the home every week so all medical needs are covered. With a top food and hygiene rating of 5, the huge variety of home cooked meals provided are delicious and full of nutrition for the health of the residents. Welbourn Nursing Home is all we could have hoped for and more. Thank you to everyone.

After 2 previous homes greatly failed my dad, our family's scepticism & trust in the care home system made us very worried about further impacts on his health. Although still cautious, we soon realised that this new home was an absolute life saver. I can't shout from the roof tops loud enough about the level of amazing care that they provided for my dad. They showed him kindness, patience, comfort, & dignity, provided him the support & care he so desperately needed. His health needs were swiftly addresss from the moment he arrived & I believed saved his life. I couldn't have wished for a better home or kinder staff to care for my dad, & are worth their weight in gold. They helped restore trust to enable us to leave our loved one in someone else's care. The staff were always approachable, understanding, helpful, kind, & looked after the family too. This home from my experience is a real gem who really do care about the quality of care they provide for their residence & family. Well done!

The experience I have had with care homes for my husband I do not wish to repeat. He must have gone through hell, not able to tell anyone as being too afraid. I did end up reporting one. When they told me he was being moved, I worried what this one would be like, but I didn't need to worry. They have been so kind & caring to my husband. I couldn't wish for better nursing for his up to end of life. He was always clean and dressed in clean clothes. The home was clean and always smelled nice when I went to see him. They have also been kind to me and my family. I would recommend this home to anyone.

I feel very confident to leave my mum there. Peace of mind for both of us I would say. I feel very grateful. The staff are what I see most of and they make me feel very welcome and are lovely to both my mum and me. It's like a big fun family. I really look forward to going to see the staff as well as my mum. My mum is in good hands. She is in a clean bed always.

The staff were very kind and generous, I was offered lunch with my grandma. She has made friends with residents and staff alike. The grounds are very pleasant and inviting, and the building has many common areas. Everything is clean and staff are smart.

Excellent care by staff. Attentive and genuine. Informed nursing staff. Since my mum arrived at Welbourn, she started making dramatic progress within one week! From not being able to walk, to now walking over a mile at a time! It's just fantastic and all the staff team are to be commended.

My 95-year-old father was welcomed into the 'Welbourn family' from a hospital in another region and was very poorly on arrival. The team built him up and gave him the best quality of life they could. He was treated with the greatest dignity and care throughout the 15 months he resided there and especially during his final days. The manager and staff got to know my father as an individual and nothing was too much trouble for them. This understanding, kindness and compassion were extended to my mother and I and we too were made to feel welcome. I will never be able to express enough gratitude for the care given to my dad.

My Aunt has been a resident here for about a year now. After her behaviour being a problem at other homes I am pleased to say Welbourn Hall Nursing Home know how to treat her. The staff are patient and kind and although she is a loner, she is treated like part of the 'extended family'. Due to this she is beginning to trust the staff and is much more relaxed. There is nowhere else I would like her to be.

Although I live near Derby, I can speak to her anytime on the phone and she too can phone me. When I do visit I am made very welcome.

Last December my 90 year old father had to move into care. I chose Welbourn Hall as it was close to me and had a suitable vacancy. Because of the pandemic I was unable to see firsthand the care and facilities on offer. There was some trepidation on my part as to whether or not I had done the right thing. Over the last six months, I have had the opportunity to see firsthand the care provided. The manager and her team are remarkable it brings tears to my eyes when I see just how caring the staff are. My father is in the last days of his life as I write this review. The care and support given to my father and myself is second to none and I have no hesitation at all in giving this care home the highest possible recommendation. I will be forever grateful for the care given to my father.

My father only spent three months in the care home until he sadly passed away. The care he received was excellent and compassionate. Due to dad's dementia, he wasn’t easy to care for. The staff looked after him as if he was a member of their own family, even with the lockdown we felt involved in his care and supported.

My husband has only been in Welbourn Hall Nursing Home for a few weeks, he was admitted at very short notice and has dementia. His care is excellent. The manager and staff are amazing. Their job is so much more harder with Covid restrictions but their patience, understanding and kindness through these difficult times haven't changed the fantastic care they give. I also want to mention all the ongoing support they give me.

My husband has been in Welbourn Hall Nursing Home since December 2019. He has dementia, so understandably was upset and confused at first and I know from experience at times can be difficult to help and settle. The staff at Welbourn Hall gave him the care and understanding from day one and now he is settled and happy thanks to their help, kindness and professionalism. They also keep me informed at all times, which is a great comfort.

My husband stayed here for 8 months and I have to say the staff were amazing! so attentive and caring towards my husband and nothing was too much trouble. The home was taken over in April 2019 and since then the new owners have really made a difference to the care and environment. I will always recommend Welbourn Hall and keep up the good work!
