Mum had a couple of falls and after a stay in hospital and diagnosis of widespread metastatic cancer she chose not to go home but to be looked after 24/7. Barchester Wood Grange Care Home was my first choice of home, I am employed by the NHS so was aware on a professional level of the care provided...
We as a family are so grateful for the care Mum received. Every single member of staff is dedicated to their role. The compassion and the actual caring for the residents as individuals shines through. Our Mum actually loved it here and spoke so highly of all the staff. I cannot praise Wood Grange and the staff enough. My mother loves living there and she has made so many friends - she was so lonely living on her own at home. All the staff are so kind and she is so settled and content.

All members of staff are really helpful and sympathetic to my sisters need and always have the time to chat with me when visiting. Due to multiple sclerosis, my sister was put into Wood Grange for 24-hour care in her 50's. I cannot praise the nursing staff any higher.

Wood Grange is my home, quiet in the country, close to a supermarket and a school in a quiet area. The pupils are select and a pleasure to help, they treat us with dignity in an older community.

No one could have foreseen this and I have to say that Wood Grange has been tremendous in the efforts they have made to enable communication with families...
No one could have foreseen this and I have to say that Wood Grange has been tremendous in the efforts they have made to enable communication with families over this period. All the staff have been wonderful and we have been able to visit the outdoor pod which has been very successful. The activities team have made such a difference to daily life for residents in these strange times and it is reassuring for us that everyone is safe and so well cared for and not alone. Thank you, Wood Grange, for the wonderful job you are all doing in these difficult circumstances and we look forward to being able to see you all again soon.

Katya began her journey at Wood Grange as a nurse before progressing to Head of the Willoughby community and later becoming the home’s General Manager. She has since progressed to her current role as Senior General Manager, bringing her extensive clinical knowledge, leadership experience and passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care to the role.
Katya’s dedication has been recognised throughout her career with Barchester. In 2013, she received Barchester’s Registered Nurse of the Year Award, and in 2021 she was named a divisional winner in the Registered Manager of the Year competition.
