My mother was a resident at Willow Court for 2 1/2 years and unfortunately died there on 4th Oct 2017. I cannot thank the staff enough for the care they gave to her (and us) during this time. From the carers to the girls in the laundry, all made life easy and her eventual demise easier to bear. Their
care was exceptional which gave us great comfort during her last days. As with all institutions, we had moments when things went wrong but they were rectified immediately. A very good team here.

We came to Willow Court on a personal recommendation from friends, were made to feel welcome. Fifteen months later that is still how it is. Most of the staff know me by name and I have learned most of theirs. I can ask questions of any of them, usually, they know the answers or they direct me to who
does. I have never felt the nee4d to consider an alternative care home. Thanks to all.

Willow Court have cared for my mum for several years, they have been extremely polite on the phone when I've called to ask about her. The staff always phoned me if she had taken a turn for the worst. Her room was always immaculate and her clothes clean and tidy. The staff are very polite and caring
and she always seemed quite happy in her own world. I chose Willow Court because my mum's sister was also in there and it was highly recommended by family and my mums CPN. The home have dealt with my mum's passing with the utmost understanding. Well done to the manager and all her staff.

Pre visit assessment by the manager was undertaken prior to mums admission. It was very thorough and conducted sensitively. Mums room is more than adequate and the staff around, she had all she needed. Food excellent with a good choice. Staff are caring and treat mum as an individual.

My mother-in-law lost her husband, she moved to Willow Court being unable to live alone. She was welcomed by all staff who have been very sensitive about her loss. The grieving process is a long one, especially after 65 years of marriage.
I cannot fault the staff, my mother-in-law's needs have been
met, she has a lovely room which we have been allowed to make feel like home. There are numerous activities to take part in and the home cooked locally sourced food is excellent. We feel very happy that she has been placed at Willow Court, this is certainly a different league to other care homes used for respite care. Thank you.

As a result of the support and care shown by staff my mother settled very well into Willow Court. It was a difficult time for her as she had just lost her husband. The care home provided a carer to look after her on the day of the funeral. The level of care, sensitivity and professionalism was exemplary
throughout this difficult day.

Mum has been living at Willow Court for just over a year now and during that time I have, on many occasions, been impressed with the level of care she has received and the kindness shown her by members of staff, particularly when she has been unwell. Low staff turnover means she has consistent and
familiar carers who have come to know her well. Everyone is very approachable and any problems have been dealt with in a thorough and professional manner and outcomes reported back to me quickly.
With a resident activities co-ordinator and their own minibus residents can go out on visits as well as enjoying a wide range of in-home activities and entertainment - so important to someone like Mum who always enjoyed socialising. There is also a good range of visiting professionals eg. chiropodist, beautician.
Before deciding on Willow Court Mum and I visited a number of local care homes but Willow Court stood out as having a far better quality offer and it has lived up to our expectations.

Current Review Score: 8.8 (8.763)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.8 (8.763) out of 10 for Willow Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.415 for Willow Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (72 Excellents x 5) + (11 Goods x 4) + (11 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 94 Ratings = 4.415
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.348 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Willow Court Care Home is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 54 registered maximum number of service users is 10.8. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.8 = 0.648
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
