My Mum came to Willow Court as a result of reaching crisis point at home. Unfortunately, despite many requests for home-care support, my elderly Father had struggled to look after her at home on his own for a number of years; however, Mum was in the latter stages of Alzheimer's and Vascular Dementia
and becoming increasing fragile.

Sadly on the 1st January 2016 Mum lost all mobility and the need to move her to a nursing home was essential. At what was a most distressing and worrying time for all the family, we met Care Home Manager who quickly put the 'wheels in motion' and Mum was admitted on the 5th Jan. From that moment on we were all welcomed into the Willow Court Family and I can not praise highly enough the kindness and compassion shown by all the Care Workers, Nurses and the other staff we met.
Sadly, due to the rapidness of Mum's deterioration in health, it became necessary to discuss palliative care and again, both the home and doctors were empathetic and professional in both their approach and support of our desire for Mum to avoid hospital and remain at the home as our preferred choice.
On Jan 24th 2016 Mum peacefully passed away with her family by her side, in her room, surrounded by pictures and mementos of the Grandchildren etc.
As a very close family, we could not have asked for a more calm and peaceful passing and everyone at Willow Croft helped ensure Mum stayed safe and well cared for til the very end.
Dad went to see Mum every day whilst she was in the home and the staff were also brilliant at ensuring he was really well looked after and supported at all times.
From our experience, I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Willow Court as their genuine concern and kindness is what makes them special.
Thank You All once again for all your help and support. XXX

All the staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble for them. My mum was very poorly when she arrived here, and if this is where she is to end her days then I can think of no nicer place for this to happen.

When my mum was taken to Willow Court my immediate reaction was how friendly and caring everyone was. It was a relief to have her in such a lovely atmosphere. Nothing is too much trouble. Everyone is so understanding because when you are not sure about anything it is fully explained. A truly wonderful
experience at a time when things could be very worrying. I would recommend the home to anyone.

I feel safe and secure in Willow Court knowing that there are people around constantly to help me. I was becoming more afraid where I lived before, on my own, but now I feel very settled and safe.

The home is very good. I am happy with mothers care. The staff are very good. Whenever we speak to or ask the staff for anything, it is always done. The deputy manager often goes the extra mile.

Looking for a home for my mother was a daunting and upsetting time. The deputy manager at the time made it so much easier with her friendly calm approachable manner. Since my mum had been in Willow Court I feel she is well looked after and cared for with thoughtful attentive staff. All the staff are
great!

I am so pleased there was a place here for my husband. The family is in full support. Relatives who visit are impressed by general conditions here. I feel that as my husband has numerous health issues is safe and well cared for. Food is very good and this gives him a good appetite. His cleanliness/hygiene
seem very good. The atmosphere when coming in is very good no nasty smells. The staff look after him very well even when occasionally he can be a bit "naughty". I feel he is content and safe. The gardens/plants look nice. Occupational needs are well catered for and activities are second to none. Our only slight concern is sometimes he may not always get enough to drink as he needs help.

Current Review Score: 8.8 (8.763)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.8 (8.763) out of 10 for Willow Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.415 for Willow Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (72 Excellents x 5) + (11 Goods x 4) + (11 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 94 Ratings = 4.415
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.348 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Willow Court Care Home is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 54 registered maximum number of service users is 10.8. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.8 = 0.648
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
