My friend is a recent resident. I visit him about once a week. He seems comfortable and well looked after, also in good spirits. The home has a friendly atmosphere, and the staff are also friendly and helpful.

Argyle House is always kept tidy and clean. Staff are very helpful and willing to help in every way. Mother is in good spirits and likes her room and surroundings. No complaints.

Very clean welcoming entrance, nice layout of the rooms very comfortable, the lounge is very good with a dining room nicely laid out giving the appearance of a hotel.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming to visitors, and also appear caring to the residents.
There is an up to date timetable of
activities for every day, which is on display for all to view.
The outside is well laid out, with clear parking spaces, well lit at night when it is dark.

This home is a good home but does need some updating. Staff are very good but not enough are experienced, at this time agency staff are being used who do not know the resident's needs.


There is a good atmosphere here and everyone is welcome the management go out of their way to make sure everything

runs smoothly. Food is adequate but not thoroughly thought through and could be better. On the whole, Ok.

We always ensure that the home is staffed with the appropriate numbers, therefore it is necessary when we have a vacancy to use agency staff to provide adequate cover. We endeavour, when possible to use regular agency staff. Whilst they are with us we encourage agency staff to be part of the team and all staff attend regular staff meetings ensuring the company expectations and standards are met. Our recruitment to date has been successful and has resulted in a higher staff retention, further strengthening our staff team. With regards to the food, we understand mealtimes are a big part of the residents day and are always happy to take menu recommendations and requests from both residents and families. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you wish to discuss with further.

I feel that since mum has been at Argyle House (admitted January 2015) the staff on the second floor have been outstanding. Not a single member of staff, but all the staff are absolutely brilliant! Mum can be very unsettled from time to time but they really try hard all the time to accommodate her needs.
Although mum pays privately, I do feel it's really, really expensive and that the staff don't get the rewards and recognition that is reflected in the price.

My 96 year old mother with dementia has been a resident at Argyle House since May 2014. She has settled in very well. The staff are caring and attentive to her needs, and my mother always comments" The staff are so kind here".
They have an excellent rapport with the residents. The rooms are spacious,
kept clean, the domestic staff/laundry staff are helpful and compassionate. The standard of food could improve, the meals I have seen appear bland and not colourful.
I have an ongoing issue with the laundry as do most relatives! Unhappy she has been attacked twice since admission, sustaining injuries that need a visit to A&E, however the home deal with the situation promptly and I have no complaints.

The person who became aggressive has moved to a more suitable placement and plastic name tags are readily available to ensure laundry gets to its rightful owner. I would give 95% to the home and staff. I have appreciated the last 2 years my mother has spent there.
(At some stages the staff are over worked and stressed out: but still give their all).

We chose this home ourselves after having a look around and found it very homely. After my mum moved in we were very pleased with the care given and all the staff very helpful. I would recommend Argyle House to anyone as it is a caring home.
