She was extremely frail and over 100 years old, however she was shown care and kindness from all the staff - from the housekeeping to the nursing team.
We were extremely happy with her care and would recommend this facility to anyone who is looking for a place for their loved one.
Once again, thank you
Very nice carers/helpers/team workers. Always helpful and kind. There if needing to ask about how our dad has been.

My mum has been a resident at Avenue House since January of this year after moving from another part of the country. The staff are fantastic, always helpful and they make what was a difficult decision (to move mum into care) the absolute right one. The home is modern and clean and even has it's own little outdoor cinema. Would thoroughly recommend knowing you have piece of mind that your loved one is safe and well cared for.

Hi Susan Thank you for your review and kind words I will pass this onto the team, as always we are very grateful for any feedback received Thank you once again for submitting a review
Since becoming a resident within the Avenue Care Home we have seen a massive deterioration in all aspects of my mother's physical wellbeing. We chose this Care Home on the cleanliness of the building, resident facilities and the 'feeling' of the home. Unfortunately some important aspects have badly let my mother down and us as a family. The advice I would give is, do not get blinded by nice curtains and friendly staff, the most important aspect is that your family member is safe, adequately monitored and treated with dignity, this is not obvious to see.
You will see we are positive concerning some issues, however some fundamental elements let the whole home down and makes it essential for you to ignore the smiles and ask for evidence that your relative is receiving all the parts of the care plan, as they will refer to this being done, please check.
Good morning Sorry to hear you feel this way As you can appreciate i cannot discussed individual cases publicly. However, everyone at Avenue House would still like to thankyou for taking the time to complete a review on our home We wish you all the best

First visit to Mom as she moved in recently. Wonderful staff, very warm and welcoming. Mom seems very happy and is enjoying all the activities going on within the home. The home itself is beautifully looked after and their is a lovely caring atmosphere.
Hi Thank you very much for taking the time to complete a lovely review on our home I will pass on your comments to the team Thankyou once again
Mum i snow into her 5th month at Avenue House, she has taken time to get used to her new living environment and now appears to be much more settled. My overall impression of the some is generally positive & I feel that mum is safe and being looked after with dignity & respect. There have been a few 'niggles' mainly around another resident constantly entering her room, although this has lessened in recent weeks as staff remember to lock the door.

Dad has only been in this care home for 3 days, the staff have been incredible and so helpful. The environment in the home is so friendly.
Thank you very much for your feedback, We do hope that your Dad is settling in well.
I can not express enough the care and attention shown to my mother during her 5+ year residency. From the kitchen and cleaning staff to the activity organiser, carers, nursing staff and manager, all very professional and always polite and caring even when my mother was difficult. Nothing was a problem and everyone willing to make her life as comfortable as possible. To be with mu mother at the end was a privilege. Thank you to two members of staff in particular for letting me get to you in time. I can no recommend Avenue House Nursing and Care Home highly enough. Sorry for the late response, I need time to cope with Mums death.
Thank you so much for your lovely, heartfelt review. Mum was certainly a character and is sorely missed by everyone here. Don't be a stranger, love from everyone at Avenue House.
During the two and a half years my father spent in this home I had one minor problem concerning agency staff. When I approached the management about it, it was rectified immediately. I cannot speak highly enough of this care home!
Hi Keith, thank you for your lovely, kind words and for leaving us a review. I will pass your feedback on to the team once again, thank you.
My father who died on 6th September 2024 had been a resident at Avenue House for two and a half years; for most of that time, he was confined to bed. I have nothing but the highest praise for the staff who cared for Dad as did he. His room and bed linen were always at the highest standard of cleanliness. I cannot thank Avenue House enough.
Hi Colin, thank you for your kind words, they mean a lot to us all. Your dad was a pleasure to look after and is sorely missed by everyone.
He is cared for very well. The staff are excellent - A big thank you to all the staff here.

Attended the unfortunately wet summer fete, but have already enjoyed the extended garden and outside seating area. Very nice, very well catered for as usual. The staff are always positive and helpful. Always happy to visit and enjoy the avenue.
