When we came across Silverwood, we were relieved to find a home that felt like people cared and the residents were their first priority. Silverwood is a happy family of caring professionals who gave my dad company and compassion as well as considerate personal care. I was delighted he was with Silverwood, sadly not for too long, but the time he had there helped us make sure he had the best care and made new friends. Thank you to everyone at Silverwood; you are amazing.

The staff at this cate home are excellent, coming as they fo from a wide range of backgrounds and seemingly unfailing in their care for the patients. Even the cleaning staff are not beyond showing care at times. This, of course, reflects on the high level of competency of the management team. The overall welcome and help to visiting relatives should also not go without mention, considering the trials they have faced over the last two years. All in all, an excellent home.

From the first, Silverwood took great care of our mother. After only a week, they seem to know her and her needs well. Throughout the year until she passed away, the team kept us informed as to her health and progress.
The staff were friendly and open, and my mother said she liked it there.
The home was always clean and tidy. They made every effort to meet Mother's needs, whether that was for a haircut or having her nails painted.

I would recommend Silverwood without reservation and in the strongest terms.

The staff are always brilliant, always kind, courteous, always ready to help. You don't feel like you've been a nuisance when you approach for something or ask for something. Since Mums been here, she has actually thrived, really come on. We worried when she came because you here of bad press, and the staff have been absolutely fantastic, and she loves it here at Silverwood.

Amazing care home with absolutely amazing staff. Staff have done everything in their power to make my grandad feel happy and content while he was at Silverwood. His room was lovely and felt very homely. The home itself was very well cared for, nice and clean. Thank you, everyone, at Silverwood!

Silverwood Care Home has been amazing. My mother went to them for respite care in the 'West Wing' residential side back in April of this year. Sadly she had a stroke whilst there. But very fortunately for us, after some time in the hospital, she returned to Silverwood in the 'East Wing' nursing care. All the staff we had the pleasure of meeting were kind, caring, compassionate, professional and showed great responsibility and pride in the care provided. (some going out of their way to be extra caring not just to our mum in her last few weeks with them but to our family and our needs). Thank you just does not seem to say enough for the way they made what is ultimately a very upsetting time as calm, peaceful and worry-free as possible.

My mother-in-law has been a resident at this care home for just over a week now. She seems very happy even though she is confused most of the time. The care she is getting is outstanding. Staff are friendly, the place is clean, and the grounds are well maintained. We would never have found this place on our own; local help was non-existent. Thank you.

Silverwood Care Home cared for my Mum for the past two and a half years. Over this time (before covid restrictions limited visiting), I spent many hours with Mum and was able to observe the care given not just to her, but all residents in the lounge. The Manager and the Deputy are excellent and have created a culture where all residents are treated with warmth, compassion, respect and really importantly, the place has a lovely sense of fun. The home offers a fantastic range of activities both within the care home and in normal times, trips out. These provided shared experiences and lovely memories (Mum would talk for weeks about visits from local school children, therapy dogs or exotic animals) which helped mum make friends with other residents. My work involves research and teaching on dementia care - what I've seen at Silverwood is person-centred dementia care at its best.

Mum moved in with her new family at Silverwood just over a year ago. I class them has her new family as the staff have treated Mum so well and cared for her just as if she was one of their relatives or loved ones. We weren't expecting Mum to be with us for longer than twelve weeks. Having been in the hospital for a few weeks and us nearly losing her three times last year, we expected to be saying our goodbyes by the end of last year. However, Mum made it to see her Golden Wedding Anniversary with Dad, which fell on New Years Day - and even that was not too much trouble for the staff to make a memorable and happy occasion for us all, even making a cake for them.

Mum has thrived on the great love, care and patience shown to her the past few months. Nothing is ever too much trouble, when you ring up, ask a question or need something done. The past few weeks have been a challenge for everyone, but staff have gone above and beyond to keep residents safe, happy and comfortable.

My sister is a resident at Silverwood in Nottingham and the care and attention she received during the recent Coronavirus episode were outstanding. The staff, led by the manager were excellent, in fact, the improvement since she was appointed is visible everywhere. During this very difficult period, the manager and the nurse left their families and moved into the care home to help manage the situation and dedicate themselves to looking after their residents 24/7. I was given both of their mobile numbers and they made themselves available at all hours for me to call for an update. The nurse was so patient and caring every time I called and the family and I will always appreciate their dedication and professionalism throughout this stressful period.

All the staff are friendly, helpful and professional in their positions. My mum was in this home for 3 years and I felt everyone cared and looked out for her in every possible way. The carers, seniors, nurses, management, laundry, kitchen, maintenance staff all took the time to acknowledge and treat her with respect. Well done Silverwood. Thank you.
