Staff are most helpful as they can be. They work hard and don't mind giving assistance when needed and they treat you with dignity and understanding. On the whole they are very caring and helpful as well as talking to you as a friend and have a laugh with you.

After seeing how amazing the staff here are, caring for my Grandma it has completely changed my perception of these kinds of facilities. All smiles surrounded me, extremely clean and a room full of very caring staff. Lovely to see my Grandma looking so much healthier and happier. Thank you.

We were apprehensive at my mother going into a care home away from everything that was familiar to her. How our minds were eased when we walked in to see the residents all sat smiling and happy being entertained by a wonderful singer after an afternoon tea party.l We cried. Thank you so much for making
my mother feel so welcomed. Such caring staff 10/10.

My son was in for some time whilst he recovered from several operations after a RTA last year. I can honestly say the staff were fantastic with him, very polite, friendly and professional. The standard of care he received was brilliant. The home's standards were just as good. The home was clean each
time I visited which was daily, the standard of food was good. Overall I certainly would recommend Barton Brook to anyone who was thinking of using the service.

Family friends spent their last 6 months in Monton House in Barton Brook 7 years ago. Since they died, we became volunteers coming back each week talking to residents.
In all this time, we have seen the staff looking after the residents with respect and caring, no matter how difficult some of the residents
can be.
We came initially twice a week but have to cut this down to once a week due to family commitments and our age.

In the early '90s, my grandma was a resident of Irwell House at Barton Brook. Her care and treatment was excellent and she wanted for nothing. Eventually, she dies there and the staff were very comforting. Now my mother-in-law is in Monton House in Barton Brook and that care has even improved more so.
Her
care and quality of life is fantastic and we appreciate all the staff at the home do to make her life better.

My dad settled in very well. All the staff are very kind. When I needed to see the manager on the unit she put my mind at ease so I didn't need to worry. I think all the staff should be paid more on Moss than any other unit as it must be very hard with patients with dementia.

I firstly want to start this by saying my mum has been a resident of Monton House for 5 years. We can not fault the wonderful staff.
We do feel however the staffing levels, especially at night, leave our blood boiling. I have just arrived home after dropping my mum back to Monton House after an afternoon
with the family to find only 2 staff caring for all residents in Monton House. And bless them, they were doing their best, fighting a losing battle, as the majority of residents in Monton House are 2 care staff residents. I'm appalled and feel at a loss. As this is something we have complained about again and again. I had to change my mother and assist her on the toilet opposed to leaving her in wet and soiled clothes as the staff were far to busy with other residents so couldn't get to her for over an hour. I mean. What is going on? Why are you advertising such high standards but clearly failing to deliver to the residents you already have?

The care our dad received was outstanding. The whole team at Barton Brook Care Home went above and beyond, not only in terms of dads care but with all the family in dads' last days. They treated dad like a member of their own family and the care provided was always 110%. We will always be grateful at
the level of care dad received at such a difficult time.

I am overjoyed with the care my sister is receiving in Brindley House. The Manager and her team have made a fantastic difference to my sister's life. My sister has a brain tumour and prior to coming to Barton Brook, she had no social life. She spent hours alone and had several falls a day. It has been
many years since I have seen my little sister so happy and I can't thank the staff enough.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.245)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.245) out of 10 for Barton Brook Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 37 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.245 for Barton Brook Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (238 Excellents x 5) + (117 Goods x 4) + (48 Satisfactorys x 3) + (19 Poors x 2) + (15 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 437 Ratings = 4.245
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Barton Brook Care Home is based on 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 120 registered maximum number of service users is 24, which has been reached with 32 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
