Situated in a peaceful area of Eccles, near Salford, Barton Brook is a friendly, 120 bed care home that offers residential and nursing care for older people and people living with dementia.

The newly refurbished Monton Household will be opening on Monday 13th February and welcoming residents with dementia nursing needs.

Barton Brook has a number of smaller, welcoming households, each has a number of sitting rooms, dining areas and quieter areas for residents to relax, dine, exercise, socialise and be creative.

The wonderful landscaped garden and patio is the perfect place to spend time with friends and family, and is happily looked after by some of the home's Residents.

All the bedrooms are bright, comfortable and easily accessible by wheelchair.

On Saturday 7 th July Barton Brook , Eccles held their Summer Fair.
As we arrived we were met with a colourful array of stalls manned by dedicated staff and supporters.
The atmosphere was full of energy , happiness and dedication.
The staff went over and beyond their roles by dressing up , dancing
and being full of energy .
The residents were treated to a very special day .
Thank you to all.

The staff at Barton Brook are always very helpful and caring, they work hard to provide a lovely environment for the residents to live in.
I have just been to the summer fair which demonstrated the energy they have with gazebos, cake stalls, tombolas, music and laughter. All this in a week when the
residents had also had a day out at a local pub function.

When I visit my Mum on Montonhouse at Barton Brook, I am always given a warm welcome by the staff. I am always updated about my Mum by the Manager. She and her team are a lovely bunch of staff. I know my Mum is always looked after, I have no doubts. Never worry as I know Mum is happy living there.

My relative is very well cared for at Barton Brook. He is settled and looks well. Staff very patient with him when he nags them about going home. Family are at ease because we see and know he is OK. Thanks to all the staff for all their hard work.

Staff are polite to residents and visitors, they are attentive to residents (sometimes there are staff shortages) but generally, work is good and attentive. Outside help is available (hairdressing, manicure, pedicure etc)
Entertainment (singers) occupational therapy sessions weekly.
Overall the home
is warm and comfortable. Cleanliness to a high degree.

Although my dad has only recently become a resident, all the family have been happy with everything provided. He seems happy and settled and says the meal he gets are lovely. The staff are always happy to help and are helpful with any requests from us. They are polite, friendly and approachable.

My Uncle seemed very happy he had been shaved and looked well dressed. Staff were very polite and helpful. Room was very clean and staff were cheerful. Staff spoke with respect and listened to my uncle's needs. Will be taking my Uncle again very happy with the way he was treated. Clean and tidy.

My mums care over the last five years has been excellent. The staff brilliant, approachable and where possible solve any problems that we have had.
Obviously, the cost is a big factor. Everybody would like one to one care but not possible because of the cost. Barton Brook have looked after my mum
for five years. There have been issues but every one has been solved to everybody's satisfaction.

All the staff are extremely helpful. They are very approachable if you need to know anything and problems dealt with quickly. There are activities each day and residents are encouraged to join in but are left alone if they don't wish to. Very satisfied with the level of care.

Tom Lovell

Job Title: Interim Home Manager Joined: 2025

Tom is the Interim Manager at Barton Brook Care Home. His main interest and experience are in managing successful care homes housing elderly and frail Residents. Tom is experienced in care home management and is committed to providing a high–quality service.


He is ultimately responsible for the effective and professional running of the care home, but will allocate time to discuss any aspect of our Residents care or any problems they may be experiencing. Tom is keen to work closely and in partnership with our Residents, their relatives and significant others to benefit the Residents in her care. He is a dynamic team leader and has an ongoing interest in professional development and career progression.
