My father needed to go in for respite for two weeks. His care was wonderful. The staff at Barton Brook were wonderful with him and he was very happy while he was there.

The staff at Brindley House work extremely hard to ensure the safety and care of the residents is good. The residents are treated with dignity at all times. The quality of the food leaves a lot to be desired and there are not enough activities taking place for residents. Sometimes there is a lack of
essential items i.e. the right size pads which causes distress to my mother.
Reply from Clare Sheehan, Careline Advisor at Barton Brook Care HomeThank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. Thank you also for your positive comments on our staff team who work hard to deliver quality, kind care to all our Residents. The General Manager immediately spoke with the family and the Resident and assured them that the Chef would speak to the Resident with regard to preferences. The correct size pads have been labelled for the Resident and the Activities Manager has liaised with the Resident and family to ensure that they are aware of the activities programme and discussed further activity ideas for the future.

Under extremely difficult circumstances my mother was treated with dignity and respect during her final days, which meant so much to myself and family. All the staff from Dr's to domestics were extremely caring and I cannot thank them enough.

The family are very pleased with the care and courtesy shown to my dad.
The staff are lovely and very caring and I'm sure don't get paid enough for what they do.
The food and general hygiene standards are very good and it feels welcoming. I have only ever seen residents treated with care and respect
and would not hesitate to recommend the home to others.

The care my dad received was brilliant he came on leaps and bounds, he only needed two weeks of rehabilitation with the physio and good food to get back on his feet. He would have liked to stay but because he's come on so well he's able to go home. Thanks for the care he received.

On Saturday 7 th July Barton Brook , Eccles held their Summer Fair.
As we arrived we were met with a colourful array of stalls manned by dedicated staff and supporters.
The atmosphere was full of energy , happiness and dedication.
The staff went over and beyond their roles by dressing up , dancing
and being full of energy .
The residents were treated to a very special day .
Thank you to all.

The staff at Barton Brook are always very helpful and caring, they work hard to provide a lovely environment for the residents to live in.
I have just been to the summer fair which demonstrated the energy they have with gazebos, cake stalls, tombolas, music and laughter. All this in a week when the
residents had also had a day out at a local pub function.

Well done to all and thank you for your care.

When I visit my Mum on Montonhouse at Barton Brook, I am always given a warm welcome by the staff. I am always updated about my Mum by the Manager. She and her team are a lovely bunch of staff. I know my Mum is always looked after, I have no doubts. Never worry as I know Mum is happy living there.
Keep up the fantastic work you all do.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.245)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.245) out of 10 for Barton Brook Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 37 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.245 for Barton Brook Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (238 Excellents x 5) + (117 Goods x 4) + (48 Satisfactorys x 3) + (19 Poors x 2) + (15 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 437 Ratings = 4.245
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Barton Brook Care Home is based on 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 120 registered maximum number of service users is 24, which has been reached with 32 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
