The staff are very caring and efficient. My husband has been a resident for just over a year. Sometimes, his behaviour is challenging, but I have been very impressed by the patience and kindness of the staff. I visit several times a week, and he is always clean and well-dressed. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Barton Brown Care Home.

Overall very good. The garden could be better so we could sit with mum outside in the summer.

Reply from Lynn Billingham, Business Development Manager at Barton Brook Care Home

Thank you for taking the time to submit a review for Barton Brook. It is good to hear that overall you think the home is very good. We have been tidying our garden areas up over the last few weeks so residents can enjoy the outdoor space in the summer months.

My husband has been in the home for four weeks, much improved from his hospital stay of 12 weeks. Now eating, food is excellent here. Although he has advanced dementia, he is now much more aware. Nurses are very kind, but I would like him home and have applied for this as I think his quality of life would improve surrounded by all our family.

Thank you for your kind review. It is lovely to hear how much improved your husband is since moving into our home. We hope you are able to get your husband home; if you do, remember we would always love to have him back to give you a respite break if needed.

There is a lot of room for improvement and with poor previous care standards, hopefully, 2022 will bring these changes. Currently not a facility to recommend.

I can only praise all the staff at Barton Brook. Their kindness was apparent at all times. The switchboard staff must be included in that as well. I felt my father was in good hands at all times. Nothing was too much trouble. I thank them all.

For some considerable time now I have been a visitor to your home on a regular basis. I feel that I am in a position to make a due comment.
First I would like to thank ALL your staff for their care and consideration towards my wife and myself, especially during the present situation.

When choosing Barton Brook as the home for my wife was the best decision I have ever had to make and I would certainly have no hesitation in recommending your home.

I have lived here for 15 years and have found the situation at the home totally acceptable. The home is adequately comfortable and spacious and the facilities are very acceptable. The staff are very helpful and more than capable in their roles as carers. The little garden adds to the general standard of the home as a whole.

The pod is a really good idea, you are able to see your family and be close to them. After not being able to see my mum for 14 months, being in the same room and speaking to her face to face, it has helped so much with both our mental health, and peace of mind.

On entering Barton Brook Care Home the staff (day/night) have been very supportive and encouraging with nothing too much for them. They have treated me with respect and dignity when I was unable to do things for myself. As I get more mobile they are there for me giving me encouragement and support with a smile. They are very caring and professional in helping me get better. Without them I would find it harder to advance in the way I am. I am very grateful to all of them

I couldn't wish for a better care home for my wife than Moss House at Barton Brook. The management and staff are brilliant with the residents. The home is always kept very clean, I know my wife is being well looked after and that helps me very much. I don't think I could find a better care home for my wife to stay in.

This is my first visit to the care home due to Covid lockdown indoor. Have had an outside visit with my sister to visit our Mum and was really pleased to see Mum. All the staff when telephoning to ask about our mum or to speak to Mum have been really helpful. The feedback from staff has been brilliant. The manager from Moss House has always kept us up to date about Mum's medication, how Mum is in herself and what things she needs. We can't thank them all enough for looking after our mum.

My mum has been a resident for five months. Each time I have visited the home I have found all staff to be most helpful and friendly. Mum has enjoyed her time here and she can't speak highly enough of staff. She loves being here and really enjoys the company which she didn't have at home.
