Situated in a peaceful area of Eccles, near Salford, Barton Brook is a friendly, 120 bed care home that offers residential and nursing care for older people and people living with dementia.

The newly refurbished Monton Household will be opening on Monday 13th February and welcoming residents with dementia nursing needs.

Barton Brook has a number of smaller, welcoming households, each has a number of sitting rooms, dining areas and quieter areas for residents to relax, dine, exercise, socialise and be creative.

The wonderful landscaped garden and patio is the perfect place to spend time with friends and family, and is happily looked after by some of the home's Residents.

All the bedrooms are bright, comfortable and easily accessible by wheelchair.

During the time I have been here in Barton Brook Care Home I have received care, understanding and friendship from all the staff. I was poorly when I arrived but upon leaving I am now ready to go home and cope with help at home. I have kept my dignity and it has been a pleasure to have been a patient
at Barton Brook and also given me my confidence back.

We had been caring for mum at home with the help of carers. Mum's dementia became worse and she no longer safe and she had lost weight.
On admission to the home, everything improved, the care and attention to detail for her wellbeing improved in the first week.
Our worries were taken away and mum
is settled and happy. Cannot fault the care she receives.

Barton Brook took mum in at short notice when my dad went into hospital for three weeks.

My mother-in-law has been in Moss House, Barton Brook now for 12 months. She is very happy and enjoys the company of others. Staff are very caring and helpful and she enjoys the food she is given. Her room is always tidy and she always looks clean and well presented.

Moss House at Barton Brook Care Home has been an excellent place for my mother-in-law. The staff are extremely attentive to the patients, which is very persons wish for their family. Excellent care, great food with varied menus. Staff and carers treat my dad with care and dignity, making him feel at home and listening to him. Management are always onsite to talk to. The office staff are brilliant and very helpful - they all made the transition into a home very easy for the family

My mum has been on intermediate care for 5 weeks on Irwell House and has today been discharged. Our opinion as a family would like to say thanks for the care, kindness and respect from all the staff on this unit, you have all been absolutely brilliant and although you have a hard job to do you still
found time for my mum who is trying to keep her independence and you the staff let her do that, so thank you all so much.

In the short time my father has been in the care home, I have found the staff to be very caring, friendly and lovely with my father. The home is very clean, smells fresh and tidy. The atmosphere in the home is very relaxed and the residents seem happy whenever I visit.

Friendly and helpful staff. It seems a little understaffed for the number of residents. My aunt said the food was poor.

My father has been a resident since March 2019. He suffers from Alzheimer's disease and was very reluctant to go into care. Despite that, he has settled in very well and has accepted being in a care home. He is now the most relaxed and content we have seen him in a long time. The staff are kind, caring
and enjoy having him there.

After seeing how amazing the staff here are, caring for my Grandma it has completely changed my perception of these kinds of facilities. All smiles surrounded me, extremely clean and a room full of very caring staff. Lovely to see my Grandma looking so much healthier and happier. Thank you.

We were apprehensive at my mother going into a care home away from everything that was familiar to her. How our minds were eased when we walked in to see the residents all sat smiling and happy being entertained by a wonderful singer after an afternoon tea party.l We cried. Thank you so much for making

My son was in for some time whilst he recovered from several operations after a RTA last year. I can honestly say the staff were fantastic with him, very polite, friendly and professional. The standard of care he received was brilliant. The home's standards were just as good. The home was clean each
time I visited which was daily, the standard of food was good. Overall I certainly would recommend Barton Brook to anyone who was thinking of using the service.

Tom Lovell

Job Title: Interim Home Manager Joined: 2025

Tom is the Interim Manager at Barton Brook Care Home. His main interest and experience are in managing successful care homes housing elderly and frail Residents. Tom is experienced in care home management and is committed to providing a high–quality service.


He is ultimately responsible for the effective and professional running of the care home, but will allocate time to discuss any aspect of our Residents care or any problems they may be experiencing. Tom is keen to work closely and in partnership with our Residents, their relatives and significant others to benefit the Residents in her care. He is a dynamic team leader and has an ongoing interest in professional development and career progression.
